Like the title says, I want to select a specific video app to play videos that appear embedded on different websites. Sometimes when I click the 'play' button on a site, it asks which app I want to use to play the video. Other times, depending on the site, it does not give me this option and, instead, plays the video right on the site. I want to have the option to select a specific video app whenever I click on videos that appears on any web site. Does anyone know how to do this?

When surfing the web and clicking on a thumbnail to play a video I get a message that says "cannot play video" "sorry, this video cannot be played"
I guess it's a wmv, why won't that play?
No one knows?
You need to Download Flash 10.2....http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/adobe-flash-player
Scroll down and use version 10.2.156.12
to see full Youtube page....change your web page setting from tablet to the setting on the far right.....Laptop or whatever it says...( dont have my Gtab with me and cant remember the setting name....
Ive been using this and all videos load and play fine and Youtube looks great....
Anyone else experiencing this ever since the 1.6.1 facebook update? I still see it with 1.6.2.
Prior to 1.6.1 youtube video links would always prompt which video player/browser you wanted to play the video until you set one as the default. I would select the youtube app and set it as default. Whenever I selected a youtube video link it would just start playing. I no longer see that prompt. I uninstalled/reinstalled facebook, cleared the data/cache on youtube...nothing.
edit: went to applications->manage applications->browser and selected clear defaults. now when I launch a video from fb I get a prompt...except youtube is not an option.
after clearing defaults, uninstall fb, reinstall fb...got youtube listed in the complete action list, set it as default, video launched in youtube. exited, tried the same video again and got a complete action prompt...youtube is not listed in the complete action prompt.
edit2: seems like a fb 1.6.1/1.6.2 issue. When I select Videos in the news feed, no youtube video links appear. Seems like the fb app does not recognize the youtube links as videos, only as a traditional link. As a result the youtube app is not listed in the complete action list. I could be wrong .
edit3: ok, if anyone cares, lol....at the 'main' facebook app screen, the one with the news feed, profile, etc icons and a set of posted pics/videos near the bottom, if I select a video there, it brings up the person's post sharing the youtube video and when I select it the video launches through the youtube app. every time. Again, only when I select the video in a news feed does it never launch through the youtube app or list the youtube app in the complete action list.
Very minor drawback with the video not just playing right away, just wondering if anyone else is getting this behavior.
Hello all,
I would like play videos using the Youtube app and to save the video (automaticity)in my phone (Galaxy s 9000),so in the next time I will play the video the file will load from temp (It's will save me bandwidth and time).
Thanks.
Search "Youtube Downloader" on Google Play.
I don't think you'll be able to play the downloaded videos through the youtube app though. Is there any specific reason why you want to view the video only within the youtube app?

Hi there, i am a proud owner of an i9300, and im searching for a proper youtube downloader/converter to use. I've tested TubeMusic which is quite good ( it embeds into the official android youtube application, and whe u see a video, you press "share" icon and it adds the "Download" option. The only problem is that the files downloaded can only be played properly with the "Tube Music" player. They are still in .mp3 format and they are stored in the hidden fodler ".tubemusic" but the names are all messed up. I'd love if they could give us the setting to download wherever we want, and if it didnt mess with the mp3 names. Any ideas?
I've always used 'Tubemate' which isn't on Google play anymore but you can it from searching google.
You can specify what quality/resolution it downloads in or as an mp3. I would also be interested if anyone else has some other suggestions for YouTube downloaders.
Tubemate
Hm.. Im trying it right now, seems good but it doesnt embed in the official youtube application. Its an application on its own. Very good tho! Thanks!
If you use the proper youtube app, you can enable 'preload' (either on subscriptions or watch later).
I use Opera Mini to download YouTube vids. I navigate to the site, search for the video and when I click play or watch it automatically downloads the video in either mp4 or 3gp format depending on if I have his or low video setting enabled. Not sure if this is stock on the opera mini or if I downloaded something to enable it but it used to do the same on my Desire Z with the same app.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA

Google wants to leverage it's Youtube platform as a delivery network for commercial entities. That won't work if everyone can install an app to rip the video within seconds.
So they have to make it somewhat harder, since it's technically not possible to block such services/apps entirely.

By "embed" do you mean that this app is added as an intent from the Share option available on any YouTube video?
If so, TubeMate does this as well. Actually almost any app that is registered as a video filetype handler should be available from YouTube's Share menu.
i had an application (didn't remember the name) that use to capture all the videos that i play on FB, Youtube or any streaming site. whenever i start to play any video, this application prompts to either save the video file to memory or play as it is. can any guide name of this application?
thanks.
