Disable touch screen for water use - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yo!
Does anyone know of an app that will let me disable the touch screen, so I can use my tablet while I'm in the shower and watch YouTube without water making the screen go crazy?
I haven't found one in the store that disables the soft buttons as well, and that is a problem because water will press the home button

there's no way to disable the nav bar and soft buttons unless you root the tablet

Mine started doing it a while back and it turned out to be my screen protector. I was using Stealth Guard protectors at the time.

Hmm, Im not using a screen protector.
Are those buttons along the bottom actually buttons, or are they just touch sensititve?
See if it tends to work better if you press it as soon as the button back lights go off.... I had to return my first vibrant because of this hardware issue.

Yes, it works better when the backlight goes off! Damn it, I don't want to have to return this phone. Its easy to get into download mode...
Could it have anything to do with the rom I'm running? (Obsidian v4) its supposed to support a kernel with backlight notification...

[Q] app to lock proximity sensor?

I really want an app to lock proximity sensor on (so screen off during a call) until home button pressed, or something like that. Lately I have been having a lot of calls disconnected or accidentally placed on hold, and I think an app like this would be fantastic.
Anyone know of any?
You dont need an app this is easy to do, while in a call just press home so your on the "desktop" then just press the lock button. The screen now wont turn on regardless of the sensor

cool thanks for the info.. I still think an app that did it automatically would be awesome though!
Anyone found this application? It would be very useful..

HOME button alternative

Is there an alternative to using the home button? My guess is prolonged use might render it ineffective.
I'm currently using the back key to come home.

The purpose of this button is to be pressed. A lot.
Don't sweat about the little things.....
BTW - your AMOLED screen is getting burnt-in because it's displaying the same images constantly (like battery, signal and data/wifi indicators).

[Q] Back button not working

Hello All,
short history:
I dropped my phone the glass shattered but the touchscreen and every button was still working.
Took it to a repair center, they fixed it up but now my back button isn't working. The menu button is working but the back button is just refusing duty.
Also the keys won't light up anymore, which makes me think that there may be some kind of software trick.
Taking it back is not useful feedback .

First of all it doesn't work. -phone buttons works, home works, other buttons just don't do anything.
Second of all thats not even close to a solution.

Seems to work on custom ROMs too. Tested on CM10.1 on my XT910. Whether you want it or not is another thing though.
On screen buttons are what I dislike about the razr hd why on earth use up screen real estate when you have physical buttons?
No offence intended just wondering why...

Same here, especially when you cannot use full screen even if you watching video. I think it's biggest google fail. Why the hell I cannot watch video in full screen, bar is always visible only nav keys are shaded. Nav bar supposed to be visible after tap when full screen video or fullscreen pictures.
I know there are mods to hide the bar but it should be standard.
the navigation bar does go away on my phone while watching videos on YouTube and mxplayer pro....I only put this up because I've read posts where people want to enable this and don't know how...this is also useful for people who don't want to flash a buggy rom on their phone just to customize...I gave up on custom roms on this phone
