Hello iCronqvist,
In this very well explained guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2107775
Do you have all you need to know to begin with your Xperia P, but the only thing I recommend is (if you can) update from 6.2.A.0.400 to
6.2.A.1.100 cause it's easier to root.
If you spend a bit of time reading the guide it's very easy to do anything! Anyways if you have any question tell me

At what stage you get those errors, when you install flashtool drivers or when you connect the phone in flash mode or other mode?

I have had this issue when I switch between flashing my X10 and my ION.
I will also say I use a Windows XP PC for my phone work.
Make sure you have the newest version of FlashTool.
When I install FlashTool, I always install ALL the drivers in the list. Just to be sure.
Then reboot the computer with the phone NOT plugged in.
Make sure that USB debugging is selected on the phone.
Then connect the phone, while it is turned ON, to the PC to confirm ADB drivers are installed.
If all is OK with the ADB drivers then unplug the phone.
Now make sure NO phone software is running (PC companion, Sony Update service, FlashTool, ADB terminal window),
even in the notification area by clock in windows (if something is there, right click and exit)
Now turn the phone off,
While holding the VOLUME DOWN button only,
Plug the phone into the PC.
Hopefully all goes well,

Just remember that for FlashTools to work there can be NO OTHER PHONE SOFTWARE OF ANY KIND RUNNING.
Also forgot to agree with the other post about Anti-Virus software, Shut it off or put it to sleep.
EMMA and Gordon's gate are not needed, but as long as its not running it should not hurt.
Also make sure the ADB drivers are working.
I know your not trying to recover your phone but read the first 2 posts from the Xperia recovery thread in my signature.
It has a lot of useful information for ALL Xperia users.
Good luck to you.

FLASH mode, is used by FLASHTOOL and can be used on every model of XPERIA phone with a locked or unlocked bootloader. FLASH mode will give a soild GREEN notification led when connected. To connect in FLASH mode:
Start with the phone turned off (or in between loops for some tricks)
Press and HOLD the volume DOWN button. (don't let go )
Now connect to a PC using USB
If all went correctly you will get GREEN led, then let go of button

If you need help with setting up & using FLASHTOOL {>>CLICK HERE<<}
DO NOT CONNTECT YOUR PHONE
First you need to have FLASHTOOL installed from {HERE}
Now run FLASHTOOL.
From FLASHTOOL home, select the flash/lightning bolt button
Select FLASH MODE
Select your stock firmware file
WIPE: everything
If available EXCLUDE: TA. (this option is not available for all stock.ftf files, if it's there just exclude it)
Now click START button
After FLASHTOOL prepares files, you should get this screen (or similar depending on version of FLASHTOOL)
Now connect your phone while holding the VOLUME down button

Wellall started when I was trying to install Cyanogen mod into my U20a, I started reading the wiki, installed ADB, and other stuff, my personal hell started when I had to unlock the bootloader for my device. I have read many threads about this but I haven't found answers for the the issue that I'm getting.
First of all:
Device: U20a
OS: Windows 7 32
The problem is that when I run s1tool following the instructions that I have found in other threads (turn off the device, press the 'do the job' button, press the back button and plugging the USB cable) I do not receive any outcome from the s1tool, (I have waited 3 minutes waiting for any outcome but nothing happens), I have searched in the xda forums but I have only archived to get more and more frustrated with the s1tool.
So here I am looking for some answers and guidance.
Thanks.
have you got the SEMC driver installed?
you can obtained it within SEUS or install gordon's gate (inside flashtool package).
maybe it can sort out your problem.

i'm on e10i but,
something that could have happpend : "faulty" usb connection...
did you tried with other USBcable/PC ?
Try having a scout about in Windows Device manager for the semc drivers.
I had a small issue when I first tried s1tool, Holding the phones back key and plugging in kicked the phone into 'flash' mode as a USB device, but I didn't have the drivers installed. (PC companion was installed, but that only seemed to contain the drivers for the phone when it was in normal (non-flash) mode)
When I tried to update driver in device manager, after downloading the usb drivers, they wouldn't install. I simply uninstalled the flash usb device in device manager. (It'll show up when the phone is plugged in, in flash mode)
Once removed, unplug the phone and turn it off. re-start by holding back key and plugging back in. Windows re-detected it and the second time around, installed the usb drivers.
Hope this helps
I also had the same problem.
I installed Gordon drivers from flashtool.. but still not able to detect the phone in flash mode.
me too, same problem
Windows XP
SE X8
nothing comes out even new verion s1tool use
Hello,
i got a little Problem with my X10 (2.3.3 - rooted) and my Notebook (Acer - Win 7 64 bit).
I tried all ways to install the driver to use USB-Debugging but it won't install. The Device-Manager still tells me SEMC USB as unknown
I tried the usual way, start the phone with holding 'back', install the drivers manually...
Are there any other ways to get it working ?
Same goes for me,
Device manager states that the device is unknown, flashtool not working, PC companion no hope (connected to different USB ports including those of the motherboard).
it used to work but no chance now.
it charges normally from the USB (Orange LED) but would not connect to the PC.
Details:
Windows 7 x64
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Bootloader Unlocked Xperia X10 with 2.3.3 ROM and Doom's Kernel (the latest one)
The guy here says it is related to either windows windows update or faulty cable

Any help guys?
Changing the computer had no effect as well
You must install SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service ). Only SEUS will install right driver. Problem with SEUS is that when you look on SE official site, they tell you that SEUS for X10 no longer persist, and they guide you to PC companion which is crap.
Try this: try to connect your phone with PC, in flash mode. PC will try to install your phone driver but it can't find it. Then in Action Centar, on PC, (a small flag in sys tray, right down corner of a screen) find solution for this problem, and windows will automatically find SEUS over net. Install and enjoy.
from X10i via XDA premium
tried that but no luck as well (even in flash mode SEUS can not detect the device)
Thank you
hello i found a way and it worked for me download flash tool and extract it look for a folder called drivers in there u will find something called ggsetup-2.2.0.10
run this install it and all done
@huzi7868 thank you for your help
However, that didn't succeed and I reinstalled windows and drivers again, but still not working
Even no luck when the phone is in flashmode
Just tried it on a third Computer and checked the cable but the cable is working on another HTC Desire but not on my Xperia X10 (I mean my X10 cable), however they are both charging
try flashtools, there's a folder called 'drivers' in it, open it and click on the installer

I agree, I also have solved in this way.
Download the latest version of Flashtool and after installing it you will find in the "drivers" folder the file "Flashtool-Drivers.exe".
Run it and select the drivers you need. Then connect again your Xperia X10
I really appreciate your help, but I had done that 3 times and on different computers but "USB Device not recognized"
As I sad before, use SEUS to install SEMC USB DRIVER. I have win 7 64bit, and I install driver on it. First, install Update service. When its finished, start Update Service and follow instruction (check "Licence Agree" button, and click next, then pick your phone, X10i I suppose, be carefull there is two X10, One is X10, and other is X10 SO-01b. I pick X10 for myself, and press NEXT. Turn off your phone, press and hold BACK button on phone while connecting with PC via USB. HOLD till you see message to release BACK button. Till then your driver will be installed.
Download SEUS from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBDVZ3DG
@Dzufa Thank you, but I had done that before and tried it again, whenever I connect the phone pressing the back button the green LED illuminates and "USB device is not recognized" appears and nothing happen after that, SEUS just behaves like nothing is connected.
Try with this one. And I think you must be online, because SEUS must download some files.
I really did that and of course updated SEUS, as I said green LED illuminates and nothing happens even in flash tool (it used to work for ages but suddenly it stopped, it only charges)
BTW, I had flashed many kernels and ROMs before it happened so I am quite familiar with flashtool and SEUS, I unlocked the bootloader using 9lucas method and it worked after that I installed XSP ROM and the USB worked as well, however after 2 weeks or so, one day I left it connected it to the PC and I found that the phone turned off and refused to power on, I left it for a while in the charger then powered it on and it powered on, then it has refused to connect to the PC through USB since then.
Right, been trying to enter fastboot/bootloader. The phone is completely standard/locked at the moment.
I've press and held the volume button while connecting the USB cable. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and have PC companion installed. Windows sees the device is plugged in, and attempts to install drivers - it fails. In device manager is shows S1 service without drivers installed.
I've downloaded some drivers from the Sony site here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/fastboot-driver/ but when I point the PC to the directory, it says it can't find drivers?
I'm confused! I've got all the ADB stuff installed already and can successfully connect my HTC, so I assume it's just the Sony driver I need?

Make sure you install flashmode / flashboot driver on flashtool driver pack... run flashtool xperia driver setup and under choose component make sure you tick flashmode / flashboot box... hope works friend....
my device is stuck on s1 service mode when connected to pc
Easy way to get it is by... Going to Sony's site, downloading their software and then installing it. Next run the software and select the repair option.. After a while it will download the SOMC driver and install it. You can CTL ALT DEL and kill the Sony app if you don't want to take repair matters further.. And there is your driver! Go and back it up or check the install cache for the installer and save this. Choice is yours.
NOTE: Make sure your firewall is not blocking any of the directories it requires for operation. If so just open control access to these and you're good to go.

Been a bit of a while since I had to deal with Sony phones. If I remember correctly it was either companion or another restoration application available from Sony and not 3rd party.
Was that message for me? Do note that the Trim Area for the same is corrupted. @noidodroid Could you please elaborate the above procedure? Also, if it's about any Sony tool, those won't recognise the device since the trim area also holds info and DRM's for device iirc.
I flashed the wrong rom on my Xperia Z2, I tried fixing it by flashing tft file, but I couldn't even get the device into flashmode (Power + Vol up), It just never vibrates, when I put it in the charger it just keeps blinking red.
What's the proper fix for this? and is this a soft-brick or hard-brick? Please help.

Flashmode is not Power button + Volume up. But...
Connect USB to ur computer
Then Hold the Volume Down key on your phone while u connect the USB Cable to the phone.
If you successfully get to flashmode, then u can flash an FTF file for ur phone. (This will also wipe internal sd files if you don't untick 'data' under wipes) Then again, phone might not boot properly if you don't wipe as u said something about custom ROM.
OR Follow these steps I found on Sony website
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps
Tried using flashtool with Vol down buut
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
18/058/2014 23:58:26 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I'm sure that I have the drivers installed as I tried earlier today to unlock the bootloader through flashtool (which didn't really work out) and it recognized the device just fine.
right now it doesn't even show the Sony logo..I'll try PC Companion method in seconds..
EditC Companion is asking me to make sure that the battery level is above %80, when I was flashing the new rom, the battery level was around %50, should I care about this, or is it just an extra precaution? because I don't really see a way for me to know the battery level.

I'm sure 50% is enough to install through PC Companion unless ur battery is bad.
And do you by anymeans use windows 8? If you do, Did you disable driver signature while installing Flashmode, Fastboot and Z2 drivers from the C:\Flashtool\drivers folder, or where ever u installed flashtool to.
I believe I didn't disable driver signature, I connected the device to a different usb port too just to be sure, my OS is windows 8.1.
PC Companion is updating the phone right now, I'll see how it turns out and report back to you, thanks.
Edit:It worked, my phone is alive, thank you, stanley <3

There's no keeping that Bad Boy down! Cheers mate!
Hey guys,
So I wanted to try out the newest CM12 ROM with A5.0 but seems like it didnt exactly happen how I wanted it. Rooting the device and then installing the XZDualRecovery without a problem. Then downloaded the ROM and gapps.
I have SGP311 (pollux_windy) so I downloaded that version of the CM12 at first. It said that my device is pollux, which I ofc was dumb enough to just skip and download the pollux ver and then install that one. So I installed the pollux ver instead of pollux_windy and when I hit restart device I didnt see it boot again.
So I wanted to connect it to my PC, PC didnt recognize it ofc. Only way my PC regonizes my tab is by fastboot mode. I had to install a driver for that. And even then only the Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde recognised it. I run into bootloop various times before with my tab and Emma always fixed it but thats unfortunately not the case here as Emma doesnt recognise it either :/
So now here's the problem, I can only do fastboot mode (not flashmode) and the only program able to do sth with my device is this Sony Mobile Flasher. I downloaded a official FW there and wanted to install it but it required me to go into the flashmode which I can't.
Is there sth I can do? The only thing working is the LED and fastboot mode.
Is there a way to put the device into flashmode via PC, that would solve all issues or maybe a trick to go into flashmode? As there was some thread about it but the thing they did didnt work for me :/
Please help
Thanks in advance
Nevermind, I just forgot how to use Emma....
For anyone to whom this happens:
Computer: Open Emma from the Start menu of your computer.
Connect a USB cable to your computer.
Phone: Turn off your tab.
Connect your tab to the USB cable while holding the VOLUME DOWN.
Computer: Select the software you want to flash in the Service list. The tool automatically detects the tab and lists available software versions, which are called Services in this flash tool.
Click on Apply Service. The tab will now be flashed.
Phone: When you have flashed your device, you can disconnect your phone from the computer. The first time you start your device after you have flashed it, the boot-up might take a little longer than normal.
