[Q] Sense 5 audio/speaker quality - HTC One X+

Not sure if anyone else has noticed (or could be my imagination) but after trying several of the international Sense 5 roms currently developed for our phones, I am finding the speaker volume/audio quality really tinny sounding and quieter than Sense 4 roms.
I know this is an issue with AOSP roms due to a drivers problems, but I figured with an official Sense 5 out this would not be a problem.
Hopefully others will have noticed and if so, not a good thing from HTC to have such crummy audio quality on their new release. Either that or my speaker is not what it used to be!!

Pretty conclusive for me. I just flashed Insercoin's last Sense 4 rom and the overall volume and speaker quality is 100% better than any of the three Sense 5 roms I flashed for the international HOX+.
It appears the audio quality is much poorer for Sense 5 than Sense 4.
Am I the only one to notice this?

htc rezound ics leak

http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15199-leak-ics-for-the-rezound/
havent seen this mentioned even searched for it so figured this could help with our ics builds as it is similiar to the sensation leak except for a cdma phone with somewhat similar internals (same processor, gpu, ram)
if not sorry for wasting space
seems like the same thing thats been leaking around some.

pretty unstable build from what i briefly read.
Still saying sense 3.5 too which doesn't make any sense at all as it looks completely different than the other sense 3.5 that is out, and makes it visually the 3rd different looking sense 3.5 build. before this they have 3.5 for low end phones and also high end and they look completely different. I can't see them making ICS with that Rosie and still be Sense 3.5, talk about fragmentation within one single device manufacturer. lol
hoping that its so early of a build even the sensation's too that they really plan on making it sense 4.0, even if just for naming sake as it makes no sense to call it 3.5.

[Q] Sense vs. ICS sound quality

Has anybody else noticed just how much better Sense sounds? I flashed Joelz's CM9 kang and took a drive in my truck. Sense has a lower more responsive bass and overall a more rounded sound. There are entire drum beats I'm not hearing on ICS. I noticed this on the earlier builds too, so it's not specific to this one.
I've been messing around with DSP manager, but I still can't seem to get that sound. Anyone have a good DSP setup they're willing to share?

I have (on the HD2, but I believe the cause my by the same).
It's discussed here:

According to Mike of MeanRom, none of the equalizer apps, including Dsp, work on the Evo 3d Ics leak. Adjusting sound in the app does not change sound tone. I noticed this over my headphones too. I don't have the exact post, but it is in the MeanRom forum.

That must have something to do with it, but the difference is way past just an equalizer. People think it's drivers/libs related.

[Q] Audio non-SENSE roms

Hey all,
I have the HTC One X+ in my possession for a period of one month now and I have to say that, coming from the iPhone 4, I like it very much. I rooted it the 3rd day I got it and it has improved the Android experience significantly. The thing that I noticed right away was that the sound, although claimed to be superb, wasn't really that 'superb' compared to my iPhone. Now that I have grown used to it, I don't mind it as much as before. But my question is as follows: is the sound on CM 10(.1) and the 4.2.1 ROM with the 'HTC Beats' mod as good as on the stock ROM? I looked into it (read through the Q&A on various threads in 'Original Android development' but didn't hear about audio problems afterwards. Are they as bad as people claim andare all those opeople waiting for a fix? I know it sucks on 4.2.1 since it hasn't been released by HTC (therefore there are no audio drivers yet) but how about CM 1 (4.1.2)? Is it good with mods? If not, is there a mod that has the stock Android feel and look but has the quality of the audio which is the same or close to the stock ROM?
Tl;dr: is there a non-SENSE ROM that has the same audio quality (with a few mods or tweaks) as the stock HTC ROM?
Thanks in advance for replying

bluetooth sound issues

hello guys
i wanted to ask you if anyone hears the bad bluetooth sound quality from the htc one x+.
maybe i'm just to audiophile, but the sound on (good) bluetooth speakers sound terrible.
i read alot about it and found out a few things:
-i heard the issue is in the so called "bluetooth bitpool setting". manufacturers always this setting to low, so there are no problems with the connectivity, but the sound quality is bad. so the sound quality of the stock rom is really, really bad. i'm talking about listening music. specially the high frequencies are sharp and crashing...it sounds like a very bad mp3 file.
now there are custom rom's with fixed bitpool settings. i tried out a few ones and there is actually just one rom that haven't this bad sound:
cyanogen mod 10. all the oder rom's have this sound problem: cyanogenmod 10.1, android revolution hd 6.2 and stock...
do you know this problem? would love to use more rom's with good sound

I also have this issue when listening to BT audio music in my car. I haven't tried any ROMs yet to compare.
From my brief amount of research it seems to be an issue that only pops up between specific hardware. My phone sounds great in some other cars but not in mine while the HOX and iPhone5 sound great in my car.
Just an update. I am running Elegancia's latest ATT release and it appears to have fixed the problem for now.
Just another update.
It appears audio is perfect upon initial pairing but after disconnecting the audio distortion comes back the next time the phone is automatically paired.
Why would it sound fine the first time you pair a device and then sound different the next time it connects automatically?

If you're experiencing this on the Elegancia ROM, let Steve know about this.

[REQUEST] Porting MiUi/Stock roms microphone quality to CM/AOSP/Custom Roms

While in stock (miui 7/8) the microphone quality was VERY FREAKING GOOD. Could record clearly without any noise from every corner of the room! But as I started exploring customs the mic quality is very low. Some roms are decent but others are horrible. So i was wondering if any one could port miui mic drivers(if that's what they are called) into custom roms so that we can have the greatness of the mic even on customs I don't know if this is even possible but please if you know how to do these kinda things please try. Thanks in advanced
