FYI, today's B&N Free Friday app is the full version of Puffin Web Browser. It has built in flash, and my understanding is, its flash is not processed locally but sent thru a cloud. There is a free version of Puffin in the Play Store but its flash capability only works for a brief trial period.

Puffin is awesome for speed! I use the free version. Great browser for devices that cannot get Chrome. (Infact, its faster then Chrome )
P.S. I don't see how this is free

This is how it's free:

Only problem for me is, I don't have any way of loading it, since I've got CM10 on the emmc. Oh well. Maybe I'll download it on my wife's HD and copy it over somehow.

It is free today only in the B&N app store. You need to use stock firmware (internally or on an SD card) to acquire it. If your stock is rooted you can make app backups with Titanium Backup.

It is much smoother and faster than Chrome Beta.

create general.user agent.override and set to desktop seems to work
For user agent, use the extension Phony.
Also, Firefox supports Flash now, this alone makes it worth trying for me. I always used the stock browser instead of Chrome for that reason.
Locked up my phone first time I went to a webpage. Uninstalled.

Yes its running very nice on my note/Perfection ROM.
Thanks for the notice. I cannot stand Chrome aonthis is a good alternative.

Played with it earlier today. Uninstalled it. After you Chrome nothing else is as good.
I installed it after finding out about it earlier in the day. I have refused to use Firefox on my mobile devices due to shortcomings and mostly, lack of flash support. So far, I am generally pleased with this new BETA version. However, Dolphin Browser HD will continue to be my favorite. I don't even think I bother to use mobile Chrome. I'm generally not a fan of Chrome for the computer, either.
well im on gingerbread so no chrome love
trying this beta out now
I tried it out too, real smooth and fast and the swiping to the left or right of the screen to bring up tabs or settings is imo better than Dolphin HD (and it seems smoother than Dolphin as well).
I'm waiting for more updates though because simple things like forcing desktop mode or some kind of incognito mode are buried within the settings, this is one of the biggest reasons I use boat browser as my main browser it lets you put whatever buttons you want at the bottom of your page. Hopefully they add some of this functionality as Firefox is really fast. (And no chrome love for me either as I'm on rooted stock GB).

Is swiping to left/right configurable? I don't see that working in the latest beta.
Anyone know how to get flash to work? I dont see an option. Thanks!

I'll still give that beta a try though.

You "claim" that it doesn't work.
What methods have you tried?

I hate flash - particularly on Windows PC's where we seem to get the flash player update of the week. Yet, I can't quite seem to do without it. Inevitably I'll hit some site where I need it and just saying that I refuse to visit sites that use it won't work for me. I wish it did.
However, with Apple never supporting it on iOS and now support for it on Android going away slowly, I sure hope it dies soon. For now though, I need it.

You can find some methods of reaquiring flash with a pinch zoom comparable version of Dolphin Browser here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846225
Thanks for the suggestions, but I am aware of dolphin and the other suggestions and they are not what I am looking for. How can we fix the JB Rom for the Prime to be like the Tf300 JB Rom so flash works in the stock browser? Not a debate on flash vs html5, just need it to work for one website for a family member who needs it for their internal work site for American Airlines. Again it is working with JB for tf300, just not on Prime with the same flash package and browser.

Not sure why Flash wouldn't be working for you in the stock JB browser. As long as I have Flash 11 installed, my stock browser is rendering flash content fine. Are you certain you have the latest version of Flash installed and that the stock browser is set to always for plugins? Noticed you were looking for a FLASH check box, but you actually need to look for the PLUG-INS setting which is located in "settings" "advanced". Also some flash content doesnt work in the "on demand" mode (for instance flow player)
You can find archived Flash versions here since you can't download from play store anymore.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
You can install these as long a you have "allow unknown sources" checked in the security settings on the Prime.
Tried streaming all day had some luck using stock browser. little luck with chrome dolphin Mozilla or opera. able to watch straight from youtube using any browser. flash player installed. has any found a work around. an app. or a different website with less ads. any advice

For a start what is the exact problem? And second what version of Android are you using? Flash can be problematic on JB because it's not officially supported now.
YouTube works because I believe it can use HTML 5 which updated Android browsers support

Hi guys, I use VIPBox all the time for games on my tablet. I dont get any issues. Make sure you use the original vipbox .(vipleague.se) theres a few fake copies that arent as good and i'm unsure if that may have any effect on the browser. :victory:
Guys, forget all the old crappy Opera browsers. This new beta is no joke!.
hands down this is the best browser I have used yet on the android platform.
very polished, stable and FAST.
Check it out.

I actually ran into device not compatible when i tried to download from the nexus 10, I ended up installing manually.
I have reached out to the opera team to see what the deal with this is.
I heard Opera dropped their normal engine and moved their new versions of the mobile browser to the WebKit engine.

No, it does not support flash. I tested it with the bbc news site. Firefox plays videos, this does not.
Alan
I wish sites would just finally drop flash and move on. It is a dead format in the mobile world and has been for about a year.
I know why it isn't supported on the nexus 10. I started it up and my tablet immediately rebooted. Now, I don't mind if an app stops, but to reboot the tablet is something else.
Its coming off....

Installed about an hour ago, seems fine.....Thanks for the link to the .apk

Best browser (for me) is Chrome. I haven't had any of the issues most people seem to have, and most importantly (to me) it has Google Sync
I'm a staunch defender of Opera for desktop, but I can't get myself to like this beta, even the "old" Opera Mobile looks better.
And one thing I'm still missing is the option to clear cookies on exit, like Dolphin does.
Many websites that are important to me require flash, so I'm sticking with the Boat Browser which is brilliant.
^^ I agree I never had a problem with chrome yet. Its my favorite browser

It was quite fast and overall good app to use. I am using this from last two months. I think it is a perfect browser with a nice design.*
Looks nice but it's not very fluid like the stock android browser, then after a few minutes, screen looked choppy, I uninstalled it, went back to stock browser and also made the browser choppy and broken images. I had to reboot my nexus 10.

Hi,
I just thought I'd share my experiences with testing different versions of the YouTube application in hopes to be able to surpass the 720p limitation & reach 1440p. In full disclosure, I'm running the stock rom, rooted, with 2 Xposed modules running: YouTube AdAway & YourTube. I started said journey by uninstalling updates. That led me back to version 5.5 (from version 5.10.3.5). Nothing to see there. So I jumped up to version 5.9.0.10 courtesy of apkmirror.com. No luck with that one. Same result with 5.9.0.12, 5.9.0.13, 5.9.3.8, & 5.9.4.9. I moved on to the 5.10 series. 5.10.1.5 crashed thanks to my Xposed module. Installed 5.10.3.5 through the Play Store for gits & shiggles. Ironically, I could bypass 720p but only to 1080p. Not my goal but PROGRESS! For my Verizon LG G3, that is the highest version in the Play Store. However, apkmirror has version 5.11.4 in tow. That version completely removed the 1440p option for me. But the high still remains 1080p, instead of 720p.
Well, thanks for reading my little experiment.
I noticed this too, how come we can no longer watch 1080p or 1440p video? This worked fine before so do we just need an older youtube apk? Why would they remove this feature?
---------- Post added at 02:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:20 PM ----------
Actually just uninstall your Youtube app and reinstall this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1z2y730k9cmqdo/youtube-5.9.0.10.apk?dl=0
Brings it back, I guess they removed it for some reason.
How did you configure YourTube? Thanks in advance

Currently, it's disabled. Usually, I just have my Default Pane set to My Subscriptions. Which should be a stock feature, IMO.
