Good point. Didnt think of that. You could root then unroot or as above flash mg4 . Flashing mg4 would be alot better.

You should flash latest firmware from sammobile.com, not your current firmware, cuz like you said the phone doesn't work with it.
no uk option for i9300?

Like I told you man, latest firmware xxemgh1, and don't worry it doesn't matter if your phone is from UK, after flashing this firmware go to recovery and wipe data/factory reset. If my comment helped you, please press thanks.

I had the same issue. Flashing using ODIN did fix it.
Is this within the warranty if the device is "Bricked" or completly damaged when getting this issue?
Hi, Did you by any chance flash with a XXEMG4 or newer ROM.? If you did, then your EFS partition would of been changed. If after that, you flashed an older ROM, the older ROM would be unable to read the modified EFS.
You will have to flash with XXEMG4 or newer to fix. It might help, it might not.
Good luck!!

It wont unfortunately. He has serial number 00000000000000000.
Try flash stock XXEMH1 firmware (incl.modem) Your probably ok with the new modem.
Goodluck!
Danny
Just download the original (Stock) Firmware (corresponding to your country) from Sam Mobile and flash it thru Odin... You should be all ok... You will get yor S/n and IMEI back...
Good luck!

I think you bricked your phone.
If it is unrooted then connect it to kies and install the latest android version 4.1.2 and then check this issue.
Or if it is not recognised by kies then go to sammobile.com click on firmware section choose your country and download the lastes firmware and flash it from odin. There are lots of guides available for flashing any official rom via Odin.
Good luck

Did you try to update it with kies. ?? As you have to install the firmware again.
If you have tried other sims than it sound like it's a hardware issue. Probably should send it in for repair.

Hi
I need stock rom, Three (3) Sweden.
I would like to downgrade but I don't think you can do that from 4.3 right?
Found a link to one version but link was broken.
Problem is that I removed the provider lock a long time ago. But for some reason it came back when I upgraded to 4.3.
Then I bought a sim unlock code from my provider but that won't work now. Probably cause the stock rom I use now is international.
Any tips?

You need to quote the original poster not me.
Also don't go giving the post when you don't understand it.
Read up on pit files and why they are a last resort. Theres a reason its called rescue or emergency firmware. Only used when the phone is soft bricked and all else has failed.

Thanks. Yes it's Tre. But as I understand it I will brick my phone if I try to downgrade from 4.3 so I'll probably just stick to 4.3 unless you know something I don't?
Anyhow, I think I will have to have the shop fix it. I managed to find the stock rom now and reflashed it but the unlock code I got from them still don't work. So I don't see any other option, I need to have it unlocked and I allready paid for it.
Thanks anyhow.

I recently updated my firmware to 6.0.1 and found out the GSM option is not available and cannot be registered on any available network. I didnt make a backup of the working firmware. I downgraded to 5.1.1. and now see the GSM option but still cannot connect to the gsm network. I checked the IMEI number it is fine but when I type #*0011#, I see IMEI STATUS:NG. I am not sure what NG stands for. Could you help me please as I am sitting with a phone that cannot make calls and receive sms.
Thank you in advance.

The only thing i can suggest is download samsung phone info app from play store. Go to CSC, check what the origional CSC was. Find and download and flash back to the original CSC. Theres not much you can do with lost or corrupted efs. The same happened to me when i flashed my nandroid backup. I had not backed up efs but after flashing origional stock my imei was repaired. Good luck keep me updated
Or one other thing...flash a branded firmware of the network you use with PIT. The PIT might fix the efs partition.

Have you tried a Rom with same number in it as original (file name 9th position states "2' or "3", etc and probably is the same as the error device number)?
