My Amaze is unbranded and rooted, I'm currently using T-MOBILE ICS stock RUU on it.
Whenever I try to connect to the internet it says 'Connection Failed' even though I have turned on the Mobile network. Anybody know a solution to this issue?

You need to edit your apns. Go to voice dialer, say open apns, then enter the correct one for your carrier. I would look up your carrier name and it's apn settings on Google. Once you enter and set them, you should be good.

Koolman, try these APNs. They're for your carrier. They should fix the data issue, if they don't, call your carrier.

Hello everyone,
Last night we updated an s2 to the original ics, using the ota.all went well during the presidure, but later we found out that it can't receive calls, or make any calls, and it cannot register to the network.The Sim is greek, and the phone was never flashed with room in the past, everything was original from Samsung.
Amy ideas?

Have you tried to input a new APN? You can get the specific APN for your carrier with an internet search or a phone call to your carrier.
The new is not working either.i tried the apns ,i have the same carrier.But it is not able to save them.
The phone is working fine when i put my own sim in it.
Go to about phone and see if your imei is empty. If it is empty then your efs got corrupt and I guess ypu don't have backup of it. If you do have a backup then restore it. Otherwise I hope you still have warranty left as your going to need it.

Imei is there,checked it with both cards
So, after searching alot,i have found out, that if i disable pin it all works fine.But the screen doesn't lock, and i can't use pin.As soon as i enable pin again then no more calls.
Any ideas?

What do you mean by that?
Still haven't found a way around it.The phone doesn't register in cell network when the pin is enabled and lock screen, or pattern do not work no matter what i do.
How about new modem?

Check gsm only mode if you don't have 3g,if still not resolved contact your mobile operator

I don't know if you tried to pull out the simcard and clean the contacts. This was a common issue on the HTC Desire HD and this little fix worked fine.

Is the phone new? Has it ever worked for you? Have you considered the fact that it could be network locked(SIM locked)?
My phone ALWAYS shows "Not registered on Network" when I'm at home, that's because signal is terrible since I updated to JB (modem related).
Have you tried different SIMs from different networks? Have you tried your current SIM in a different phone?
[the phone is from 29 june..always worked bit one day data stopped working.. i got a HTC sensation and the SIM works fine in that phone/SIZE]

You say data doesn't work, does that mean you can make phone calls?
I didnt do anything it just stopped working and i cant do phone calls...its like using an iPod.. maybe someone blocked my imei?could it be possible?

Yes, it's entirely possible, but you'll need to check with your provider. There is no way of checking from the device itself if the IMEI has been blocked.
Did you buy the phone new?
You could, potentially, be extremely unlucky and someone blocked the wrong IMEI code when attempting to block their own.

Well, if it really has been blocked, you should get in touch with your provider, and potentially have to go through some lengthy process of proving to them you legitimately own the device and didn't block it yourself. It's unlikely though, as I've never heard of a device being removed from the block list before.
Your other option is to leave the country, it will work in another country
Failing that, return it to Samsung telling them it just stopping working, you did nothing, and insist they replace it.

What network are you on? I had to go to t mobile web site to get configuration settings sent to phone. All was then ok. You are not providing enough information, Network, whether phone had ever worked, if it has been modified in any way etc.etc.
People here will help you but you really must give as much relevant information as possible

I"m currently in Korea. And since it's global version which is unlocked, i put in the Korean sim card. But it's not working.
It does not catch the signal. I know if i want to use the data, i have to put the APN. But it doesn't even let me use the calls or message.
Head into Settings > More settings > Mobile Networks and make sure that Network Mode is set to Global or GSM/UMTS. If its on LTE/CDMA it won't pick up any signal.

Also did you add the APNs needed for Korea? My understanding was to even get calls you had to add the APNs.

I was running in custom Roms, but I updated my phone and by odin, i put it back in to stock rom.

You can't edit APNs if you have a Verizon SIM installed. Once you install a non-Verizon SIM, you'll be able to add and edit APNs.
At least that's how my VZ GS4 works.

OK, here's what I just did - VZ SCH-i545.
Powered it down and swapped in my european SIM.
After the VZ logo startup stuff, I get the prompt for the PIN to unlock the SIM.
Then the OS unlock PIN,
Now I have a "Non-Verizon SIM" warning and a "Roaming Network Access" warning.
My phone now says "AT&T UK". My network mode is Global. In "Access Point Names", there's just "LTE - Verizon Internet" but that's greyed out. The "+" at the bottom of the screen is now active. I press that, enter the APN, and it's ready to go.
My mobile network works and is apparently giving me a UK IP address.
So, unless there's something in the phone that's rejecting AT&T SIMs, I'm at a loss.

If you have a Sprint account and call Sprint to unlock the phone.
Anyway if not on sprint? Bad esn on boost.

Doesn't work. Someone is just rehashing what worked on older galaxy phones. I think it worked for S4 and they just assume it will work for Note 3.
This isn't the first site to post this. I believe it requires being on 4.1 if I remember correctly. Check the domestic unlock thread, I believe someone posted the same thing there. @Epix4G, you even commented the post in the domestic unlock thread

Did u set apns data will not work until u set apns also pls share how u unlocked it if I could unlock I can make the rest work also u should get hspa+ not just 3g

Hey,
The unlocking was done by one of the mobile repair shop in my home town through an unlock code. As per apn settings I was unable to make any changes to the apn at all.

Apns are always changeable root the phone edit apns-conf.xml make mnc in apns matches for the gsm carrier u useing delete telephony.db and reboot but u shouldn't have to do that after sim unlock is done and usa gsm block removed u should be able to set phone to gsm in mobile networks settings and edit access point names and get signal talk txt and data with no problems what gsm carrier are u useing. Did u try dialing ##3282# select edit enter spc go down to more then go to lte apn setting

There is nothing when i go to the apns. When i click the settings i get an option of restore default settings only nothing else.
