Hello, I installed Cyanogen's latest build for the E970, and now my phone will not connect to the AT&T Network. The APNs are all correct as far as I can tell, and it can SEE the AT&T network, but if I try to connect it says "Unable to connect at this time" it worked fine before the flash to Cyanogen, and my roommate's AT&T LTE phone works fine.
The Network mode is set to the LTE/GSM/WCDMA option
Set the APN to the "ATT PHONE"

hello
having some trouble to activate my Photon 4G im not US resident
and every time after reboot the phone trying to connect to sprint network
but it couldn't of-course because i live in Israel and using different Sim card.
before the Update MR5 i was able to register my device but after the MR5
it's switch's to the Sprint network and says to call the costumer care service.
what is wrong?
Settings, wireless and networks, mobile network and then network mode? Have you tried that? That way it wouldn't search for Sprint.

it wont activate it i dont know why.
the stupid update*&*&*&* all up.
----------------------
update
i dont know what i just did but its activated but again giving me "WIFI ERROR"
** MOD EDIT - Please refrain from vulgar language **
You need to put it in GSM only mode in network to work off your sim. If its set to cdma it will only search for those specific networks. Also you can do a manual setup by using the codes in the dialer. Not sure if they work but try *#*#3282*#*# and you will need your msl from your carrier to access. Or root it and use the msl app from the market
Edit its ##3282#

ok im in the menu but i dont see any GSM in none of the menu's
what i see that i can enter 6 digital code to enter
but i dont have it
i send an email to the seller that i'v bought this phone from.
hope that he can give me answer soon.
Why do you need your phone activated on Sprint if you're not going to be using Sprint?
The phone works fine without Sprint activation on an International SIM...

What is most likely happening is that the phone is trying to roam by default on Pelephone's old CDMA network (they have not shut it down, it is running in parallel with their newer 850/2100Mhz UMTS network). You can try to go into Settings->Wireless Networks->Network Mode and change it to "Any GSM/UMTS". See if that helps.
becuase everytime after the stupid update i was restarting the phone its trying to
access the Sprint network from some reason.
after i was activated the phone the wifi stopped working entirely.
I'm on an un-activated Photon and just updated myself. I do not seem to have the Wi-Fi issue you are having. Maybe it's something else...

GUARDIANBD, I am not sure why you are having wifi problems. With respect to your network issues, please confirm that you have indeed changed your network mode to "Any GSM/UMTS". If you have not done this then by not registering on Cellcom, your phone is actually acting as designed. Please understand that this phone is primarily a CDMA phone with GSM/UMTS capabilities added by Sprint as a "bonus" to their customers who go overseas.
Sprint is a CDMA carrier and if your network mode is set to just "Any Network" then they have correctly designed it to first look for a CDMA signal. If it finds one (which in your case it is finding Pelephone's old network), then it ignores any GSM/UMTS networks. If you did indeed change your network mode to "Any GSM/UMTS" and it still is trying to lock onto Pelephone's CDMA network then (and only then) you are right, the phone's software does appear to have a bug in it.
the first thing after i powerdup the phone for the first time i changed it to GSM mode.
like i say'd before its a bug in this update so i want to reverse the process and
return to MR1 update.
if i restart the phone in Airplane mode the wifi works like a charm
but after i change it back to GSM (and for some reason enables the 4G network with it) it disconnected from wifi.
Is 4G enabled on your phone?
Again, if you aren't on Sprint, it would be pretty useless to have 4G enabled.
Un-check 4G in Settings->Wireless & Networks and see if that fixes the issue for you...

Anyone have issues roaming? I'm in Paris and can't connect to a local network at all. Won't even register. WiFi calling seems to work, but I can't get even an emergency call to connect unless on wifi

Did you add Roaming to your account before leaving to France? I would also make sure that:
1. Network mode is GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto
2. If you search for Network Operators from your phone, does it find anything?
3. Ensure that Data Roaming is selected
Also, power off your device completely and wait for 5 min before switching on (NOT AIRPLANE MODE). These tips have worked for me in the past, not with this phone but with other GSM phones. Please let me know any resolution, I will be going to the EU very soon and I'm hoping to know the experience from another TMo user.
Hope it helps!
Hi, I have a problem with using my phone to tether. I use a Galaxy S4 Verizon Unlocked and use the T-Mobile nano sim unlimited 4G LTE data.
This is my mobile info :
+ Model number : sch i545
+ android verson 4.3
+ baseband : i545VRUEMK2
+ built number : JSS15J.I545VRUMK2
+ rooted: yes
I can call, text, use the internet, but I can't tether! I have fast.t-mobile.com as the apn, and have tried epc.t-mobile.com as the apn also.
Here is where I get confused: When I set it on GSM, I can tether, but I only get up to 3G/H+ speeds, which max around .5mbps for me (I live in Portland). When I set it on LTE/CDMA, or Global, I get 4G LTE speeds, which gets up to 3-5mbps, but I'm not able to tether. I have tried numerous tethering apps, I really don't think it's the app; I've tried tethering to different computers also, and the phone itself seems to be the problem. When I factory reset, tethering on "Global" and "LTE/CDMA" works, but in the course of downloading apps and setting up LTE and my phone in general, tethering stops working. I was messing around with the settings yesterday, and DID get tethering to work both on "Global" and "LTE/CDMA", but then it stopped working again today. The error message when I can't tether is "cannot connect to DNS server".
I've searched forums all day, and have not found an answer.. Please help! Someone suggested finding a app. to change the network settings to GSM/LTE, but I couldn't find how to do that.
I also have an I545 on T-Mobile, 1gb/mo @ lte speed. Tethering works fine for me but can't afford the data it gobbles.
To set the preferred network, go to google play and download Advanced Signal Status. Run it. Look at the info then scroll to the bottom and click Additional Info, then Device Information. Look at all that other info then scroll down to Set preferred network type. LTE/GSM auto (PRL) works for me.
It might be that I'm rooted and the rom I'm using too.
Yesss it works
THANK YOU!! I downloaded the Advanced Signal Status app, then set it to LTE/GSM auto (PRL), setup a new APN "epc.t-mobile.com", set that as the active apn, then made it inactive and selected "fast.t-mobile.com" to be the active apn again, and VOILA! it works!

Hey everyone. I just picked up a Verizon LG G3 over the weekend and I am using it on Cricket Wireless (ATT). And everything works great, I have the APNs set up correctly. The only issue I seem to have is that I will be connected to LTE on ATTs network, and when I either receive or make a call it will disconnect from LTE and will connect to global (my guess since it will show a G where it would normally show "4G LTE" or "H". And once I disconnect from the call it connects to the internet again but only to HSPA+ and not back to LTE even though I know for a fact I am still in a LTE supported area. In know this because the only way I seem to be able to connect to LTE is to turn off mobile data and turn it back on. My question is, does anyone have this problem on the Verizon LG G3 while using it on Verizon's network or with ATT/T-mobile?
From what I know the phone should automatically connect to LTE again after the call, not HSPA. Thanks.
Not sure if this is what you want, but perhaps try System Settings, and under Wireless Networks select More, then Mobile Networks.
In Mobile Networks, try System Select. Press "Network Mode" and try adjusting to one of the other options. I'm strictly Verizon, so I changed mine from Global to LTE/CDMA.
Worst case, you don't get connectivity, you can go back and change it again.
HTH!

Thanks Ill try messing with that wen i get home, left my phone there. I have it under global right now.
Just doesn't make sense to me, why would it not connect automatically to LTE after a call. S
I have been having difficulty with data roaming on stock Android 7.0 (RS98821d) on the LG G5 RS988 USA Unlocked device.
Using a T-Mobile USA SIM, I am able to use the the local T-Mobile USA network in the country of United States, but when roaming to another country and a foreign network, data no longer works correctly. Data often does not work at all until I go to the APN settings (Settings ->More -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names) and use the "Restore default settings" option. After a period I have to repeat the APN reset to get data roaming working.
Have others experienced this or similar issues?
Back in June I had similar issues in France. I have T-Mobile and the RS988. When I first got there I was using the fast.t-mobile.com APN and couldn't connect. I switched over to the epc.t-mobile.com APN and everything started working just fine. For the network mode I was using the LTE/GSM/UMTS setting. Hope this helps.
It seems that "epc.t-mobile.com" is supposed to be the T-Mobile USA non-LTE access point. I shall try to remember to try the "epc.t-mobile.com" APN next time while roaming internationally. However, after testing the "epc.t-mobile.com" access point, LTE can be used with it and it works well.
