[Q] Fresh install CM10.2 **Stuck on HTC Logo** - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I recently bricked my phone but managed to get it back up and running.
It is now Rooted/Unlocked, S-Off
Bootloader looks like this:
*****TAMPERED******
*****UNLOCKED*****
JEWEL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-22222222
HBOOT-2.09.0000
RADIO-1.12.11.1119
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.0815
eMMC-boot
Oct 18 2012, 15:46:20
So I am now doing the following:
1. Superwipe
2. Extracting cm10.2 nightly zip, copying the boot.img to sdcard
3. ./fastboot flash boot boot.img (flashing the boot img)
4. going back to TWRP and installing cm10.2 nightly
5. installing gapps
6. reboot system
***STUCK ON HTC SCREEN....then phone turns off (not reboot).
ANY help would be greatly appriciated!!!

You're S-off, so there is no need to fastboot flash the kernel anymore. Don't extract anything-just flash the ROM zip in recovery and then flash GAPPS. Reboot & you should be good to go. Make sure you wipe properly in recovery prior to flashing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried what you said; but to no avail. Still the same problem. IIRC I tried that originally last night but when it did not work I tried the boot.img first route.

Recovery - TWRP v 2.6.1.0
Wipe - smw6180_superwipe.zip
If these are wrong, what should i be using? is it possible to do the wipe/install with fastboot commands?

Okay, do this. Re-download the ROM & GAPPS and put them on your external SD card. Go to recovery and select the 'Advanced wipe' option in the wipe menu. Wipe cache, Dalvik cache, data & system. Then, flash the ROM zip & then flash GAPPS. Wipe in recovery ONLY & don't use the superwipe script.

I ended up going with an RC2 and slightly older gapps to match it. Used your route for wipe/install.
seems to have worked like a charm; thanks so much!

No problem.
Which CM 10.2 were you trying to install in the first place? Reason I ask is because I read in the CM 10.2 thread that there were issues with some of the newer nightly versions.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Yes, I tried the 9/6 and 9/7 nightlies and they both failed to boot. I've even wiped and done a clean install and still they hang on splash screen then eventually go to black screen. I'm currently running the experimental NO DELAY zip and that works great.

That's what I was getting at. Somebody posted a similar issue in the CM thread and I was curious if OP had tried one of those nightly builds people are having issues with. Personally, I stick with IRC builds. Currently on 9/3 IRC and it's running great.

you need to do only one thing. read.
and you need not do another thing, create new thread about it.
another thing you might want to do, download properly, wipe all, format system, data, cache, dalvik, etc. and flash ROM normally.

WiFi not working

Hi everybody! I have rooted and flashed Lee's latest ROM and after that my WiFi not working. I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17301247&postcount=14 by ancola66 so I followed the 2nd method.
OK, first I was unable to overwrite the bcm4329.ko file but then from another place I found useful solution for that issue:
# busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
# chmod 666 /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
OK, after that I successfully replaced the bcm4329.ko file that I downloaded from the same thread's second post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248838
But the wifi issue still existis...
Alternatevly I can of course just flash another ROM... maybe Virtuoso? Or what you would suggest. Virtuoso is Android 4.0 isn't it?
My Evo 3D X515m: HBoot Version is 1.49.0018, S-On [HTC Unlock method] + Revolutionary shutteru CWM recovery cwm-4.0.1.4-shooteru.img, now ROM LeeDrOiD_3D_V5.4
I was having a same problem like you when used it at the first time, but yesterday I flash again and do a following step:
1. In recovery, i wipe all phone data and wipe dalvik cache
2. Then I install a ROM, when aroma installer give an option to wipe again, do it (this I didn't do when the first time flashing LeeDroid)
3. After the installation is completed, I'm stuck at the bootloader. So I flash a boot.img via prompt with this command fastboot flash boot boot.img and it's work..
4. Let me know if the problem still occurred.

Where I get boot.img? I have my LeeDrOiD_3D_V5.4-Final-GB.zip (of course can try another ROM) and I should use boot.img from that ZIP?

Didn't do this as I didn't get stuck anywhere. Should I run that command?
Problem still exists....
At recovery mode go to advance menu to find wipe dalvik cache, then Just flash a boot.img from command prompt, you have to extract a boot.img files from LeeDroid file zipped..

thank you sir
just a quick little tid bit of info about issues that are commonly caused by a kernel...
Wifi, Bluetooth, touch screen, sound, camera, and your overall power management are all functions of the Linux-droid kernel. If your wifi is flat out not working, if your touch screen does not respond, if your sound is not working… you see where this is going…. Then in many instances you should just flash another kernel to see if that corrects the issue. If it does, then your root cause of problems has been found.
Basic trouble shooting and logic can save you a lot of time and headache if you know what direction to look when finding the cause of an issue.
Sorry for no reply for a long time. Tried now. Didn't help. Again Wifi error Must pick another rom but not sure wich one?

Thanks. It's very small so probably not a ROM but just a update. I don't need to full wipe and Calvin cache clean before I install it or I should full wipe first?
Meanwhile I tried to install "MikRunny-3vo-v1.13-GSM-signed.zip" - I full wiped etc. and installed Clockwork as it was suggested on MikRunny thread and flashed MikRunny. After that the HTC green message after reboot came up and never went away. It got stuck on it. OK, I full wiped again and flashed "ROMeOS3D_LOCKSCREEN_DATE_ALLIGNMENT.zip" but that gave me same issue. Then I flashed again LeeDroid back and it works but no WiFi. Also my friends report that after that my signal has gone worse and very often they don't hear everything I say.

Unable to flash ANY custom ROMs?

I can't seem to flash any of the custom ROMs and get them to run, they all hang at the bootloader (it says unlocked at the time)
I'm on rooted, unlocked, stock 2.3.4, and I've tried all the major ROMs multiple times (I'm positive they flashed correctly, and I've tried clearing/not clearing both caches, etc.) but I can backup and restore from CWM just fine
I couldn't find anything like this for the photon, but I feel like I'm overlooking something very simple
If it hangs pull battery, put back in press pwr+vol down, go to android recovery (by pressing down till you see it) then press vol up. Once I recovery wipe system/data and reboot.
See if that works.

5.0.2.8 doesn't work to flash roms. You need either romracers cwm (5.0.2.7) or jokers v3. Jokers is a zip that you can flash from 5.0.2.8, then hit reboot recovery and you're set.

Hmm
Format data/ factory reset
wipe cache
go to advanced menu
wipe dalvik
go back
Install zip from sd (internal or external)
Also... you need to know if your current kernel version works for the rom you're trying to flash!!!!
MUUUCH CREDIT TO JOKERSAX KERNEL VERSIONS!!!!!!!
LOOK FOR VERSION 1.3
Also.. look for the Rocko 2.0 rom... works on my mopho..

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.2 stuck on circle

This is my first time trying to install this I have a Samsung galaxy s2 T989 And I'm pretty sure I've done it right. I factory wiped it, cleared the cache and the cleared the cache in advanced settings. It's been atlesst over 10min and its still on the blue circle just spinning around.
Can someone please help me?
When I installed cm10.2 for the first time mine done that. Best bet and worked for me is do a battery pull and reboot. If that don't push you past the spinning circle which I ran across you should reinstall the ROM again and it should boot up just fine. Hope this helps
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
You've bootlooped it. The T989 is a pain when flashing custom ROM's because the custom recovery's built in wipe doesn't quite work for it.
Keep this ZIP handy as you'll be needing to run it every single time you need to wipe data/cache and dalvik. Don't ever ever use any other means of wiping aside from this one until this issue is fixed. I've been doing this for a while and have flashed upwards of 20 ROM's on my T989 alone.
It's called Darkside Super Wipe.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955
So, just put that ZIP on your SD card, along with your custom ROM and appropriate Gapps. Flash Darkside first (always) then flash ROM then Gapps. Then reboot and problem solved!!
Good luck!! :highfive:
So after putting that in my sd card. Install that and gapps and cm10.2?

Nope, just run the Darkside Super Wipe and it'll erase all /system, /data and /cache partitions. And like the thread says, it won't wipe your SD card or EMMC.
Just make sure you don't leave the recovery without flashing the ROM and Gapps
Also, you should get in the habit of making backups. You can make them from CWM or TWRP's custom recovery.
Titanium backup is an application on the Google Play store that you should look into as well my friend.
T989 Tears
Very finicky phone for customs. On mine I can get no ROM to fully load other than the stock Koodo 4.04, and CM 10.0 I flashed the latest radio for JB, darkside super wipe, flash custom rom, flash gapps, wipe dalvik. The same process for every ROM i try... still no success, 10.2 stays at boot. Dirty Unicorns starts boot, goes through the "optimizing apps" stage gets to the "starting apps" and reboots, lather, rinse, repeat. I've tried a few others, AOKP and some others. Still only Koodo 4.04 and CM 10.0 will fully boot. Not even the stock T-mobile 4.03 will boot (came with phone). Going to give JMT a shot, it looks pretty

Won't pass boot animation after flashing rom.

I've flashed the Cm Nightly, then the xperia rom. I cannot flash a ROM? I can really, but stays stuck at the boot animation screen. Just unlocked bootloader, and flashed that bat file for recovery. I did factory reset, wiped dalvik and cache, still stuck. I don't even have the stock one. Does it matter if I have s on? Am I missing something?

Amm first of all I'll recommend you to flash 4ext recovery.
Then if you have branded amaze then it's ohk you can flash the ics firmware and then simply wipe all partitions via 4ext anđ flash the Rom..
But if you have unbranded amaze then s-off is must and then further steps..
Have you done this! ?
If not then do this and for working device flash gb Rom if you have not updated yet

I recommend using 4ext. I would also recommend starting from scratch. Put it back to stock and start over. Also wipe your battery in 4ext and calibrate it after flashing any rom.
