I noticed it had info about USB 3, but the G2 dont have any USB 3 port right? Assume its coz Snapdragon 800 supports it.

I kinda read that as 16 gigabits (gb) of ram, or following the old rule of thumb that 8 bits = 1 byte, 2 Gigabytes (GB) of RAM.
Interesting. Glad to see the Sprint version LS980 contains triband LTE support.
Not necessarily just because the snap Dragon 800 supports it. The micro USB port actually has 11 pins. I am currently/unsuccessfully trying to figure out what they do. USB 3.0 only needs 10 pins. I made a rough sketch of the LG G2 micro USB Jack (attached). Pg 468 Of the service manual seems to confirm the port is USB 3.0 compatible, just on some strange proprietary connectors.

What are the chances we can get the final release of the service manuals? Are these manuals leaked often?

Old. EN_LG-D800_SVC_ENG_130911.pdf is newer and can be found by googling, and most likely there are even newer versions.
Link for D803 is down again. Anybody have a copy?

Hi guys,
I went ahead and got a D801 (T-Mobile) thinking basically all G2s had all the bands listed in GSM Arena. I sadly found out after I got the device that this is not the case and that the D801 doesn't have the 900 band for HSDPA, which is what my carrier uses, so I'm stuck with Edge.
I'm now selling it in order to get another one that works for me (because why would you buy a Ferrari if you couldn't drive over 20Mph?...)
I've been reading up on the subject trying to find one that fits the bill but I find a lot of conflicting/confusing info so I'm just asking straight out, which version of the G2 do I need to get in order to have HSDPA on the 900 band?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not in the US, I'm in the Dominican Republic.
Does anybody know a place where I can see the different bands for all models? I can't find one single place that has them all.

Thanks! That's just wat I needed. I was on wikipedia before but some how I missed it.
Seems like the only one I can go for is the Verizon one. Honestly, I'm not too thrilled given their update record on my current phone (Motorola Droid 2 Global) which is also from Verizon (yeah, I waitied A LOT to do the upgrade but I really liked having a keyboard so I held on to it as long as I could).
I'll need to check how's the development scene for this one (although, I think T-Mobile is the the one with the least development going on for what I've seen) but if the scene is good I think I might go for it. Otherwise I'll get a Nexus 5 which is the closest thing to a G2.
Hi People,

Hahahaha! Firmware update hahahaha.... No one will get it coz its LG
LG G2
Its only because i believe 4.4 is due to be pushed out end of Nov early Dec.
Im assuming they have had the firmware for a while as they made the nexus 5.
I believe the model of g2 im getting is D802
Would you know though if the firmware updates if indeed they did come, would be received if pushing to UK ?

It has to do with your phone model. Not which country your in. The d802is international. So when LG releases for that model you'll get it.
My phone was probably made over seas, and I'm in the US. Has no impact on when I will get an update.

I think he is refering to LG being the slowest smarphone maker to put out updates.

Chances are that we are going to see very few updates from LG.

Hey guys! Soon I'll be buying a G2 outright. I'm on Telus in Canada and I'm just wondering if it really matters what variant I buy. I see a few different models available to buy unlocked and just wanna be sure there's no big difference for me which one I buy.
I suppose if they'll all work just fine, then I should go with the best dev supported model....if there is one.
Thanks for any input.

All the phones in Canada are the D803 version but I got mine through Wind Mobile which is the D801 and came factory unlocked.
Software versions between the 2 are different as well but I'm not sure what is different.
I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the Canadian models but things I saw through xda are that my D801 from Wind is missing the 3rd mic located by the flash. I haven't tried it yet, but I read that this affects the audio zoom function by rendering it barely recognizable and/or useless.
Also, not sure if you would care (but matters to me) is that I am unable to set my D801 LG G2 camera to mute without rooting and flashing another rom.
Thanks! So 803 may be best then. I see just about all the variants available. So maybe I'll focus on the 803.
I'm really hoping signal strength is better than my S2. I gotta go outside where I live to talk or text. Lol

Can anyone confirm that the LTE bands on the Rogers D803 are the same as Bellus?
I may go with a d802....at this point there seems to be more development for it. We'll see in a bit when I'm ready to buy if that changes or not. But seems there isn't much for the 803.

Yes they both use AWS for LTE (Bell and Rogers also have access to BRS 2600, but TELUS doesn't).

my LG Motion is on the fritz so in the market for a new phone. I'm on a budget, but i found a used LG OPTIMUS G E970 for a reasonable price & also a Pantech Discover P9090 for $40 cheaper. If i'm correct both would work with Metro, but which would be the better choice? Naturally it would be rooted

No - on both counts. Sprint is a CDMA network. No GSM phones - AT&T included - will work on Sprint.
Sprint uses an esn master list. If that phone isn't on it it can't be activated. (Only Sprint phones are on the list btw)

I work at sprint and I can tell you right now, he either traded it for a sprint s5 or he didnt get sprint. NO GSM phone works on our network. The only exception is the Nexus 5. Thats it. Nexus 5 no more. no less.

Yes. LG G2 and G Flex, HTC One (m7) and One Max, Moto X, Galaxy S4, Note 3 (if Sprint processes the international unlock first), and iPhone 4s and 5 can all be unlocked for GSM use

The unlock that Sprint does is not a true factory unlock, since the phone can only be used in other countries if they do it. All of the above phones can be truly factory unlocked for use with any GSM carrier in the world, even in the US. I wouldn't say the iPhones are free, and it's not technically a factory unlock. But for all the Android models, yes. You just need to have the tools and the knowledge. I run my own business doing software support for smartphones and tablets, and Sprint unlocking is something that I do lots of.
