IMAP push notifications with email app - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

One of the things I've never liked about the stock email app is that it does not provide real time IMAP push notifications. I recently came across a solution that might be helpful for others wanting push notifications with the stock email app. The app is called eNotify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hermes.enotifylite
It basically sits it the background monitoring the email accounts you have set up and gives you a customizable notification whenever you get an email. Tapping on the notification in the pulldown takes you to the email app. It's simple and it has worked flawlessly for me. I thought this might be helpful for those who have not come across it.

Nice find.. Thx

I was about to post a question with this same issue. I notice that I have new, unread messages in my Outlook Inbox on my PC, but no notifications on my phone. So when I open the email inbox on my phone, the messages are there, but still no notifications.
Sometimes I do get notifications.
I wish I could bypass BLUR and just use stock Google Corporate Sync setup. This is probably the one thing about this phone that really irks me.

In the facebook application, hit Menu -> Settings -> and look in Notification settings.
It should say "Notifications: Active" hit the checkbox next to it to turn it off
He's talking about the messenger app, not the facebook app itself.
So far as I know there is no way to turn off the notifications in the messenger app itself. I might make more sense to just uninstall it seeing as the normal facebook app lets you use chat when you want to anyway.
No I'm talking about just the Facebook App lol in it u can disable all the notifications individually besides the messaging one

Yeah, I'm having the same issue with the Facebook app for Android. It seems that you are only allowed to disable message notifications for a certain amount of time before it automatically re-enables itself. Pretty annoying, especially since I am using a messenger-aggregator app that gives me notifications for Facebook messages too. Any help would be really appreciated
So any option to disable chat notification forever? I only get them de-activated for 8 hours every time
hi we are just talking about facebook message notifications not all notifications, im looking for this one also....
is really stupid that you cant disable this.... what is the use of disable this for 8hours???
And you don't want to just get rid of the app?

what about log out from this app
It seems like any other notification can be disabled permanently but the messages one. Very stupid and extremely annoying indeed!

This works for me. I hate the msg app as well but like other notifications. Did this for each person I talk to. And it stays off perm after doing this for each user.

I'm having the same problem. I don't want to uninstall the app, or turn off all notifications, because I'd like to still get notifications on wall posts and comments.
As others have stated, I also use a messenger that puts gtalk and facebook together, and it's just annoying to receive double notifications for facebook messages.
It seems people are misunderstanding what is being asked.
Facebook has a great deal many different features and gives notifications for each individually. Notifications of new posts are separate from notifications of new comments are separate from notifications of new messages etc.
We all want to get Facebook notifications *except* for messages. We want to be notified when a friend posts to their wall or comments on a post we are involved in. We do not want to be notified when some one messages on Facebook... or rather... do not want to be notified twice.
Both the Facebook app and the Facebook messenger app will not let you turn message notifications off. You can turn every other notification off individually or you can turn off all notifications completely... but when you disable just the one for messages in either app it tells you when it's going to turn it back on. We want it off permanently without losing our other notifications.

SGS 3 Email notification changes

Hi,
I just switched from iOS to Android. I was wondering if I could make the email notification more efficient, like the one for iOS for example:
The notification would show 3 different emails in separate list
Email from: Jelly, "Subject"
Anna, "Subject"
Luke, "Subject"
rather than telling me that you have "3 emails"
Thanks.
The only Advice i can give you is play around with the email setting to see if that helps.
no apps for that ? What a shame =(
Perhaps email notifier?? Type email notification in store there's a few.

Notification service to send notifications to desktop

I work as a software developer and for the better part of my day I'm looking at my work screen and my phone is on silent. Because of this I miss SMS's and missed call notifications sometimes for hours. I have been looking for an app that allows me to push some, if not all, notifications raised by my phone to my desktop.
I tried growl but that requires a local web server which I cannot obviously run at work. I also do not have access to my work network from my phone because wifi is restricted. So I need a solution that sends these notifications over the web.
Is there an app or a service that can push notifications from android to my desktop?
MightyText might be the app you are looking for.

Thanks, didn't realize mighty app also gave missed call notifications. Is there any other app that gives me native windows notifications?
MightyText fits my needs. Havent tried any other such app.
Android Desktop Notifications.
You can even choose which app notifications you want to be forwarded to the pc. However, for SMS and missed call notifications only, Mightytext is the best. Good luck

Mail app with persistent notification?

Hello folks,
I'm looking for an email app with really persistent notifications, that is: instead of the single tone/vibrate notification when a new email arrives, I need it to keep notifying me periodically (say, once per minute) until I open the app and read the email, or at least clear it from the notification shade.
Can anyone recommend an email app that does that, or an addon/plugin/extra app that accomplishes the same thing?
Thanks,

MissedMessageFlasher (plus K9-Mail configured to the specific email account I need monitored) is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you very much!
