Can anyone confirm how long it takes foe there tab to start up once it's shutdown? I'm sure it varies with the amount of aps installed but I think that my startup time of 1min & 30sec is a little excessive? I have about 30 apps installed.
2 minutes or so.
That long? Is that about the standard time?

Im hoping this will change with the ICS update but, Im not sure.
Seams like a long time to wait, but I guess thats the norm. Thanks all for your input.
Get a new one!
My first TP use to take 1:40 to boot up so I took my chances and exchange it for a new one. Now my boot up time is 30-35 seconds even after the update and root!
after wiping mine, it would boot in about 20 seconds, now after installing a bunch of apps, it's in the 1-2 min range again.
I have well over 100 apps n games already. anywhere fro 2-3 minutes for startup time.

boot times are subjective to how many and the types of apps installed. it will always vary based on what you adding to your device.
ok so my (edit) *Vibrant is not booting up...
I press the power button, the vibrant turns on, logo pops up, boot animation, Tmobile animation and galaxy s animation plus sound all happened, The phone gets to the lock screen and within 3 seconds just shuts down.
Anyone know what could be wrong.
Phone is stock, neither romed or rooted. is this a battery issue, hardware or software
Does it boot up when you have it charging? And which phone is it, the Vibrant or the Captivate? Those are 2 different phones.

If you can boot into stock recovery/download mode, just do a factory reset or flash the stock rom using odin

Maybe you have a defective bootloader or phone. If it's still under warranty, just bring it back to T-Mobile and exchange it.
was trying to fix a vibrant for a friend of mine with a very similar problem
after many hours of work w/ odin & attempting to flash different things.. i concluded that it was hardware related bc i made it all the way to stock but it would just shut down randomly
does it give any sort of message when it shuts off? or just goes black?
have you dropped it a lot?

im starting to think its hardware related as well. at time when i boot into stock recovery the battery logo just shows up, the android man with the the exclamation point. idk if up to a certain level of currect is drained the battery shorts out. how can i possibly test the battery??
There is no message or anything... as soon as it boots up to the lock screen it just goes black.
i just acquired this phone. I have a HTC Glacier that i use for my everyday. this used to be my friends old phone and it started doing this, he just got another one and gave me this said if i could fix it i could have it to mess around with. as far as i know it hasnt experienced much rough and tough life. on the outside it looks almost brand new.
So I bought a brand new battery and the vibrant won't even charge the new battery...

sorry to revive this but did you try cleaning the battery contacts?
You probably moved on with life lol
hi all, as the title says my hox + is repeatedly crashing n rebooting. this has been happening since yesterday. the hox was fine in the morning and then randomly started playing up in the afternoon. the phone is completely stock n locked. its not the power button as when I enter fastboot the phone stays on n doesn't even freeze. it went flat after a while so I left it to completely flatten over night. its been on charge for a while now n its still rebooting even without me turning it on, it turns on by itself.....freezes.....then reboots.
any ideas guys?
really don't want to pay for insurance again n I now know it takes takes 2 weeks to replace a lost phone so god knows how long it will take them to look at a phone
"pay for insurances AGAIN"?
Does this happen randomly? Or it happens all the time? If you will be enough desperate, you can always try a factory reset as this looks like a software bug.

yeh ive tried factory reset in fastboot and also erased cache command. im going to try a rom now ive got it to stay off n charge. it will only stay off selecting power down quickly, if I select power off in bootloader it restarts. it does seem like software though as it doesn't auto reboot in recovery or bootloader
well a new rom ddnt work.....n of course I cant find an ruu anywhere

you can try increasing the voltage for the CPU...
does it show something on its screen when it reboots?
cant do anything. it would boot up fully...then freeze after 5 secs or so then reboot and do the same again. Ive claimed for a new phone now tho. I couldn't find an ruu after trying a new rom so insurance repair wasn't going to happen. the phones gone now n hopefully a replacement will come soon. guessing I had a bad refurb last time iclaimed
Hello guys,I am using ArchiDroid 1.7.18 and when I reboot my phone, even soft reboot,it takes too long to get registred to network,I mean 10-15 seconds sometimes,I want to know if it is just for me or anyone has the same "problem"

Hey guys,
I just flashed the skydragon 6.0.2 onto my VS985. I'm currently on step 7 (Reboot device after finishing installation) and it has been stuck on the 4 flying circles screen for an hour and 15 minutes now.
How long would you guys wait until you ruled it as "stuck"? I understand that the first boot can take an especially long time but this seems a bit excessive.
Thank you
edit: after two hours, i rebooted into TWRP and did a factory reset. Seems like it was stuck after all. So to answer the question, 2 hours is too long. Maybe 30 minutes max is need.

i have never had it take more than about 5 on most phones, by 20, its not going to boot.
I waited 30min once and did a battery pull and rebooted and it booted right up into the ROM and had no issues since. I did not do a factory reset that time. other times I have.
Bria
Outside of any instructional wait time from the developer, my default is 5 minutes.
