Right guys this is the Q&A Thread for the INTERNATIONAL X+ (enrc2b) ask questions and so on report bugs to me, NO OFF TOPIC i will update the 2nd post with bugs and so on.
Ask questions if you are unsure about something
Don't go off topic
I have only made this thread as a convenience, as i know you lot like to talk to us, but i will lock it if it goes super OT
REPORT BUGS IN THE DEVDB AND NOT HERE
ASK ANY QUESTION HERE RELATING TO THE ROM OR INSTALLATION
3rd post will be how to create the rom from source on your own.
BUG LIST
Code:
MHL (HDMI to tv doesn't work)
Video Camera locks up and requires a reboot to fix
How to compile PaP + Ax (Pure Aosp And Aosp-Plus) from source
in this guide ?? = Pap or Ax (change the ?? to either of those lines)
Building the ROM yourself
If you want to contribute to the ROM, you'll first need to be able to build it. Here's how.
First, follow the guide here up to the repo init line to get your build environment set up.
Next, create a folder for ??. For the purposes of this guide, i'll assume it's in ~/Android/??
Initialise the repo
Code:
cd ~/Android/??
repo init -u git://github.com/Pure-Aosp/android.git -b 4.3
OR
repo init -u git://github.com/AospPlus/android_manifest.git -b aosp-plus_4.3
Now, sync the repo. This step may take a while.
Code:
repo sync -j# (the # here = the number of cores and thread your cpu has +1 (a quad core i7 = -j9)
And finally, build the rom
. build/envsetup.sh
brunch enrc2b
This might be a terribly stupid question, but would this ROM work on the at&t variant?

Alright bro, I wish you the best of luck and thanks for the prompt response!
Just want to clarify, is it safe to flash the latest build (uploaded on 2013-09-17) with my current BLADE Kernel (3.1.10-BLADE)?
Or should I wait for the next release?
Because you mentioned that "DO NOT FLASH KERNEL IN THE ZIP"
so just wondering if my current kernel will work for the latest build.
Thanks.

If you are new to try this ROM, which kernel should i take? I flashed pap_enrc2b-ota-eng.lloir.zip 2013-09-16 05:52 and everything was working fine, but after a reboot it will stuck in android screen.
I read you message not flash the boot.img from the zip, but both downloads have the same kernel. Thanks for the help.

What i did when i had an issue was to push via adb the files i needed, the info is on the forums.. make sure you install android sdk with platform tools and google usb drivers... before flashing any rom everyone should have those working in case of emergency.. especially because.. well.. no micro sd card
Tons of tutorials out there, for some reason adb only worked with twrp recovery with me..

Hey guys, sorry for making an extra post, but if you don't know, I am trying to build CM7 for the YP-GI1 and I have the build complete but it won't boot. I used a kernel built from source and the stock kernel and neither of them allowed me to boot. When I flash the zip only download mode is accessible and there is no boot screen either. I'm not sure if it has to do with the partitions updater.sh or something...

Hi, Serk
Sorry for don't answering your PMs, I was in Italy and London. At first we don't need the updater.sh script because our devices are already using the ext4 filesystem. And our ROMs arent booting because of the init scripts (init.rc and init.hugo.rc). I'm converting them for booting CM7 on the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 and you could use my work as a base for yours.

The reason I post my ROM here is because I'm soon starting with a new rom, broodROM KitKat which will also be available for the Note 3, So I figured why not test it on my current AOSP ROM (to see if there is any trouble on compiling, but no!). This AOSP is based on the real Google AOSP, no real further modifications (only thing is that it includes DeviceSettings from the S4 currently), and AppOps is exposed. that's all.
It includes the stock CM11 kernel (which is kinda crappy). but I don't have the device so cannot make decent kernel myself without testing. Also the ROM is 100% untested. but it compiled without any error with my sources (www.github.com/AOSP-S4-KK) so I think it's alright.
Working List
- You tell me I have no idea :silly:
Download Alpha 1
www.broodplank.net/files/AOSP-442-N9005-Alpha-1.zip
on alpha 01 you need to flash a custom kernel
SEND ME LOGCAT! BECAUSE CURRENTLY IT SEEM TO BOOTLOOP
The device name is listed as hlte in settings / build.prop, don't worry this is actually hltexx
Download Gapps Lite + SuperSU (yes it's not rooted by default, I recommend installing this package)
http://broodplank.net/files/gapps-4.4.2-lite-with-supersu-1.86.zip
Sources
- https://github.com/aosp-s4-kk
Download:
Code:
mkdir ~/AOSP
cd ~/AOSP
repo init -u git://github.com/AOSP-S4-KK/platform_manifest -b kk-4.4
repo sync
Building:
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch
make otapackage

Lol what the hell, that's almost impossible that my rom triggered download mode XD.
But it could be true, I have no clue since I do not have the device. what you could try is using the boot.img & /system/lib/modules from CM11 nightly.
btw, just downloaded CM11 and noticed there are NO modules in the kernel of hltexx. this means the kernel I added will not boot most likely.
So please install this zip after installing the rom:

@gianton it'll boot into splash screen with temasek's kernel, if you wanna try and grab an ADB Logcat? - I'm having issues getting one :crying:
Sorry for not providing a good kernel, the thing is I cannot compile it decently with the ROM. it says I have to add module support and recontinue, thing is, the note 3 does not use it. but my build forces it.. Anyone have experience on CM with compiling the kernel? (the kernel is from CM after all)
You could try temasek or Yank555 or wootever for help with kernels as they're pretty decent at them - civato knows his stuff also, however I believe he has only worked with Stock samsung kernels and not CM stuff.
Still cannot get ADB logcat, phone won't recognise in PC

Start by your own, like invaderjohn and I do and others may help.
Best chances in my opinion you have with porting cwm to your device following this instructions!

If you have problems with a kernel that builds but doesn't start it might be a problem with dt.img missing in boot.img.
That was the first big problem i had with custom recovery.
At the moment i use Android Image Kitchen to unpack the fresh build recovery.img or boot.img.
Then I copy the original dtb from original boot.img to the split_img folder and repack the image.
So it works with recovery.img with original kernel or kernel build from LG source.
It worked with boot.img that garcia build for us. But i had no touch with that kernel.
Hope it helps.

try with stock kernel it will take 5-10 minutes to boot but everything working except networks
Well after reading all the posts I decided to test it. First of all, I'm no developer. Here's what I did;
1. Did "Wipe to install a new ROM" from philz
2. Installed ROM
3. Installed Gapps.
That's pretty much it for everyone who keeps asking how to install it -_- and the first boot took about 10 minutes for some reason.
As for bugs, I still haven't experienced a single issue except for the keyboard problem which I fixed by enabling hardware keyboard from settings. Everything works smooth as silk :')
Just sharing my results because of all the negative posts..
Great work devs!
I tried to install that rom (which looks amazing by the way) but when I reboot my device after install it just shows the bubbles and restarts.
I replaced a recovery (from ClockWorkMod to Philz) but it still exists.
what can I do?
Thanks.

So just so clarify, this is not built from source? Your first link doesn't work.
disregard the following second question I just realized what you had written
Also if I may ask, why nightly builds? TWRP updates once in a while (which can sometimes be over a month), what are you doing to have it updated every night?
On that note, now that I understand what you're doing here; does TWRP not work with 12.1? Although I haven't given 12.1 much testing time, TWRP did work for me (the same one as I used in CM12).

I haven't done anything from scratch. It works for cm 12.1 on Z3C, since there wasn't any custom recovery for Z3C on CM12.1 and the current CM12 twrp didn't worked, so I decided to do something. It was just for fun, so I don't plan to update when it's working. Try if you like after you have tested CM12.1, right now I'm back on stock due to several reasons. Waiting in eager to have MultiROM feature. So I can boot between both roms
