Trying to go from CWM to stock. Quick question about command. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

So I am trying to get my TF201 from clockwork (running VirtiousPrime .21 4.0.3) to stock. I took the stock .21 blob and put it in ADB folder and ran.
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash system blob
It just says "Waiting for Device"
That command was confirmed for a TF300, but I couldn't find what exactly to type for the TF201. Is that correct? If so, any idea why it says waiting for device and never continues.

I have some questions for you. Are you ICS or JB bootloader ?
Did you make the copy yourself or find one?
Are you able to use nvflash?

When I hold power and down the top says 9.4.2.15 then it goes to the screen of (Wipe Data, USB, Android). Maybe that helps on what bootloader I have.
I have never used nvflash before. I received the tablet just how I described and am just trying to go stock with her. The software on it just seems rather buggy and unstable.

check a NVflash thread and see if you can do it that way. there are certain requirements needed before one can use it. so thats why im saying look it up.
(thats all i can write right now as my prof just started class)

Aww man, so it's not going to be as simple as just typing a command in?
I'll read over NVflash thread again and maybe I can understand it now. I remember a few months back it was a little over my head.

Kernel Flashing Question

At some point during my flashing I ended up with kernel
"3.0.13-gaf15497-dirty
[email protected]#1"
I think it was with a BAMF ICS Rom.
Since then whenever I got to flash another kernel I get
Update failed. Main version older.
Its not a huge deal because the roms I have been flashing work with this kernel but Id prefer to use the recommended one.
Can someone explain what exactly is going on here and if it is a big deal or a way around it.
I had never seen this with my Dinc or Tbolt but both were S-off so I was able to flash in recovery.

I was hoping... I wish the first time someone came into the Rezound section they would be forced to read a thing that explains main version and how to fix it.
Make life easier and learn the fastboot method for flashing kernels.
Just take the boot.img file from the rom, put it on a flash drive or folder on your pc with fastboot.exe and adb.exe
Plug in you phone (adb drivers must be installed already) to your PC's USB port
Open a command prompt and navigate to the path where adb resides.
Type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Then once the phone says "fastboot usb", type in come:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
After it flashes, reboot the phone and enjoy the new kernel.
Or, you can fix the main version error by searching for the thread. Its easy.

That doesn't actually fix the problem or fix the fact that it might not be possible to RUU if something happened.

Oh man I just shot soda out of my nose when I got into this thread.

[Q] Prime bricked, no recovery, but still have fastboot. Anything I can do?

So i was messing around with my prime. trying to regain root access after the 4.1.1 update, but it seems i have somehow deleted my recovery.
The Bootloader is unlocked, and I can still put it in Fastboot mode, but trying to select recovery just gives me an error like this (see here: http://i.imgur.com/mpYCd.jpg)
If I try to boot Android, I get the Asus logo in middle + nvidia logo in bottom right.
Is there anything I can do here, or am I completely screwed?
(sorry that this thread gets posted so often, I searched, but I couldn't find anything specifically relating to this issue.)

How do I get into fastboot, am I missing something?

So I have a Prime that is stuck on the ASUS logo with a spinning circle. I want to try a few different things and can't seem to figure out fastboot for this device.
All the searched results say that I should see a USB icon when I hold Power+Down after I leave it be trying to get into RCK. However, I just see wipe data, and android. If I let it set, it cold boots.
At the top of the screen when holding Power+Down it also says
US-epad-9.4.2.15-20120221
If that helps.
Also, what do I name the ROM that I download to the MicroSD card to push in RCK? I know the TF300T is EP201_768_SDUPDATE but is it the same for the TF201?

You are still on ICS and are in a unique position to do the nvflash process and make yourself brick proof before you do anything else.
Once you upgrade to jellybean you will no longer be able to do this.
Check out nvflash thread on Dev forum but if you are not going to do it most people on here would happily swap their fully updated custom primes with you to be able to get nvflash.

Great, thanks! I will check it out.
Also, do you know on that file rename?
Oh, and I am trying to unlock it to get the fastboot option. Do you have any idea how to unlock if I can't boot into a rom with that ASUS unlock tool from their site?
Ok, so for those of you that have a problem and find this thread, I at least finally got it to take a rom thanks to the guidence of flumpster.
I went here and chose the same software I currently was on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429873
and then put the once unzipped .zip on my MicroSD card and renamed it EP201_SDUPDATE (.zip but on win 7 that's default and some people end up with .zip.zip)
then I booted it with power and down held until I pushed up for RCK and it FINALLY took off.
I guess I was getting bad roms from all the other threads.

Upgrade ICS to Androwook 2.2

I just got my Prime back from RMA. They fixed the unlocking issue and downgraded to ICS. Nvflash looks confusing but I'll give it a go now. What do I do after? Do I just flash TWRP 2.5 and then use the upgrade bootloader in the Hairybean thread? Then just flash androwookie 2.2?
I am pretty confused now. I can only find instructions for JB.
Thanks...
NVFlash problem
Following this: http://androidroot.mobi/t3_nvflash/
When I try the first step: fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging ebtblob.bin
I get signature mismatch on the Prime. And in the command window I get the *attached*.
Looks like I can't even use Nvflash. According to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dghGX3NjJaE

Do not listen to that guy who replied on YouTube to you.
If you are on ICS on prime it is doable.
We never had the security update that stopped us doing it while on ICS. I think that only happened to the tf700.
If you are still on ICS on prime you should be fine.
Any idea why I get that error? I couldn't find out how to do it though Linux so I used windows. (Linux noob).

I'm not really sure mate.
Make sure USB debugging is on in developer options.
I have attached the files I used when doing it in case my fastboot is different. I have 2 fastboot.exe's here and I think this is the one I used.
Everything should be in the folder in the zip to do the process so just open a command window in there and try it.
Also if you are using front usb ports on a computer try the back ones.
Ok I'll try that. Do I follow the instructions here? And do I need to be in fastboot?

Yes, they are the instructions you need and yes you need to be in fastboot for the first part of the instructions. (These are all fastboot commands on your instructions.)
I get an error after pressing error on the computer:
AdbWinapi.dll is missing from your computer
Didn't get this when doing it from platform-tools in SDK.
Tried copying your files to the platform tools folder. It gave me the same error I had originally. Signature mismatch. It says 'sending stagging' OKAY. then it says 'writing stagging....' FAILED..
Is something wrong with my prime?
After doing more research, it appears that the 'failed remote invalid' error seems to be from something in the bootloader being corrupted. I also tried unlocking again using the app and get the unknown error ; is this normal? How can I completely reflash ICS on it using a microSD card? Or even upgrade it to JB and forget about NVFlash.. Maybe flashing TWRP 2.5 ICS could help?
I am really annoyed now that I can't manage to do anything with this tablet. Finally unlocked, now can't flash anything. ICS is really slow and I would like a fast custom JB rom on it.
EDIT: I tried Ubuntu and still get the same error. Looks like my bootloader is corrupted... how can I install JB/reflash ICS bootloader?
Kept trying but NVFlash wouldn't work.. Kinda the whole point of me asking them to downgrade to ICS - I'm guessing they did something wrong and maybe because JB was installed first, NVFlash didn't like it.
So I installed 4.1.1 via microSD and that worked. Now let's hope I can install TWRP and flash some Hairybean!

Problem with new TWRP version - need help

I have been running hariybean 2.31 for quite some time but saw some kitkat based roms are now available so I thought I would try on out. As a precursor, I had to upgrade my TWRP to the 2.6.3 version that supports KK. I did the upgrade using the terminal emulator method and it seems to have installed correctly but now, when I start recovery, it asks for a password to contiue. If you cancel out of it, then you do not have access to the partitions and I assume they are encrypted.
I cannot find a password listed anywhere, nor did i set one on my machine. I am rooted currently and unlocked. I also tried to downgrade TWRP back to the 2.5.0.0 version but i cant seem to do that either, it seems to instal, but when I go back into recovery, it is still the 2.6.3.0 version.
Can anybody help me? want to either get the password, disable the password (without loosing my data) or downgrade back to a version that will not request a password.
Detailed steps to accomplish any of the above would be greatly appriceiated!

Does he have his nvflash backups? I didn't notice him post that.
He needs to try the following and try to get back on the correct TWRP for that bootloader before downgrading.

If neither of them work for him then he can still be fixed but I'm gonna need to wipe the machine.

I'm going to be honest with you, the reason I was interested is I made the bonehead mistake of not downgrading to 4.1 before attempting to flash the KK twrp. Looks like the link you sent fixed the recovery just fine without needing NVFlash (At least in my case) if only I knew how to actually develop roms better. I want a 4.4.2 Linaro AOSP ROM with ART optimization (Or Vanir) for the Prime on the 4.2 bootloader... that would be pretty awesome.

Thanks for the replies so far. I now have made things even worse by using wipe in TWRP and now the OS is gone I have tried using the fastboot -I 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp.blob as suggested and it says it is writing it, but when it is done, it restarts into the same TWRP 2.6.3.0 version everytime. I have no data on the tablet that isn't already backed up (but I don't have NVflash) so I don't care how deep It needs to be formatted to get it back online again.
Any further suggestions or steps to take? I have ADB and Fastboot access but that seems to be all......
sheesh... all I wanted to do was try out KK

I finally got it back.
Did this list of commands:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase misc
fastboot erase cache
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system c:\adb\blob
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
and that allowed me to overwrite the TWRP 2.6.3.0 and thus unencrypt the storage finally and then I just reinstalled the Harirybean zip again.
Thanks so much for all the help!

I do know a bit around linux, I have been using Ubuntu for about 3 years but not super familiar with things. I know basic commands in terminal and I know how to Google really well haha. Any chance you could PM me a list of starter guides because I really am interested in doing new development for the Prime. I am not getting a tablet anytime soon... due to money concerns and the fact that I just like the transformer series.

I would advise not starting with a rom but starting with an app to get yourself used to using toolchains etc.
Take a look at compiling your own version of Gotham XBMC to get you started, the instructions on that are pretty good and straight forward.

Awesome I will get cracking on that over the weekend. I will see how that treats me and if it goes well I will let you know and see if I could be your padawan learner and hopefully build a vanilla Linaro AOSP Rom for the 4.2 bootloader some day.
The blob file helped a lot and I'm back with a working TWRP! Great work - thanks again!
But I'm kind of scared and confused right now, regarding KitKat ROMs. Do I really need NVFlash?
I guess the right road 2 kitkat would be:
1. downgrade my bootloader
2. install flatline & nvflash
3. install cw recovery?
4. install kitkat roms?
There is also KitKat TWRP - is this the right way?
Like I said - I'm super confused. ^^
