[Q] Have an unlocked ATT HTC One. But one question. - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hi Guys,
I have a sim unlocked ATT HTC one and am using it one another sim with no issues what so ever. My question is will I lose the sim unlock if I update the firmware to 4.3 (when it comes out) or if I root and install custom roms? Someone who knows these stuff please reply. This one was bought from Ebay.
Hari.

No. And stop posting this everywhere. You don't need to post in multiple threads to get an answer.

[Q] LG Optimus one locked to Telus

Hello Guys, can you help me how to unlock my optimus one, because its locked to Telus in canada, i tried to flash it but its not working im stocked in the opening screen.. Can you help me guys how? Thanks in Advance.
there are some machines who can unlock your phone, but they cost..I think you can do nothing because it's a big problem and it can't be solved so easily..
I used mobileincanada.com. I got the code within a few hours.

get it unlocked from ebay its cheap out there
Telus now allow unlocking the phone for free, just call them (and tell you want to transfer to virgin mobile). Maybe you will have to call more than one time and to be lucky to find a telus representative who knows about this new policy.

[Q] Can I Unlock GSM with locked bootloader with code

I am running 2.3.5 so no flashing radios for me.
My question is if I buy a SIM unlock code will my phone work on Tmobile?
My carrier(platinumtel) is switching from CDMA to GSM in late 2013 so I was wondering if I need to buy a new phone.
THX
Your locked bootloader wont let you flash a radio. Conventionally anyway. As far as what I read around the forums, the radio partition isn't locked down because at least one person has the kddi baseband version on their locked phone and another member has a unique photon with gsm capabilities too. I would search and ask those people.
Maybe there's a way to flash the kddi radio through bootstrap.

You can try what these guys are doing on another thread but it sounds a little rough.

I received a pm from another member that said it worked for him. Also it looks like halfevildruid may have something that might work for you down the road. In his last post in the kidi radio hack he suggested that it was possible.

[Q] Stripping Carrier for rom?

This is probably a stupid question but hey, can't hurt to get some input.
I have recently found myself in possession of an AT&T Galaxy Mega. I have T-Mobile as my carrier so have no intention of using the built in 4G from AT&T. Can I flash a T Mobile rom and baseband to it? I assume this will brick it and I am better off just leaving it be and using it as a plain wifi-only tablet but want to verify with the experts.
I am no novice to flashing/roming and the occasional brick recovery
Sorry, but you can't flash ANY rom to the ATT Mega. No one has been able to unlock the bootloader.
But, I'm sure, if you search, you will find folks are using a t-mobile sim in the ATT version.

Yeah, was hoping a stock rom from another carrier wouldn't need an unlocked loader. Ah well,, am rooted and just waiting for the official 4.4 then.
Thanks for the input!

Sorry to say, with the update comes in size of 1.3GB, I'm pretty sure AT&T put restrictions on it like many other new phones recently. Based on my experience with Samsung Galaxy Alpha updates, such restrictions include:
* must have an active AT&T SIM in the phone.
* must be on AT&T network in US.
But unlike Samsung, you can wait for HTC to post the new ROM RUU files on its US site to update manually.

Lost Root
It appears that I have lost root and twrp bootloader, and so far I have not been able to reinstall.
i thought i could get the download w/o a SIM card.... NOT! Anyway, as soon as I swapped SIMs from one M9 to the other, it showed a 1.3gb download happenin..... sweet BTW - I don't use AT&T directly, though my service (CricketWireless) is an AT&T "reseller". The HTC website shows "AT&T/Cricket" for ROM downloads, so I'm not entirely sure of the relationship between the two. I have 100mb broadband cable that I am using and this thing is just a little over 50% after almost 4 hrs.
Cricket wireless is 100% owned by AT&T.

Thank you so much. I kept trying and trying to grab the update with no success until I put the SIM in the phone and finally after changing the dates manually because of it saying 3-4 times there was no update it finally started to update lol. Currently updating now as I type
Anyone grab the zip file? If so. Can you post here? It's huge.
