Can you still get into android?
If you cannot then you are hard bricked by using that wipe menu.

I can't get into anything, it just loads the splash screen. I'm looking for ways to fix ur through apx but it was rooted when I bought it so never knew about nvflash been searching the forums for hours as there has to be a way of fixing it

Unfortunately without nvflash backups you are hard bricked. It was an easy fix when you had no recovery but as soon as you did that wipe in fastboot and lost access to fastboot you killed all hope.
Only option is a new motherboard.

Arse biscuits is there no way of repairing the mobo ? Possibly replacing the chips ?

Your best option is to find one with a smashed screen for sale on ebay etc and take the motherboard out of it.
Most people pay around the 100 dollars mark for one.
If you send it back to Asus they are going to charge you over 300.

You can buy them on eBay with dock in working condition for £120 brand new they are £230 I think I will just sell it on as spares and buy myself a new one unless I can get a replacement mobo for under £50 its not worth the effort
Thanks for the replys

Samsung Galaxy Note I717M BLACK SCREEN

Hello Everyone,
I have just installed a ROM from CWM, and selected Reboot system, and phone turned off and wouldn't turn back on. nothing, completely black, not even boot up screen, nothing, I pulled out battery and put back in, nothing as well. put it on charger and still nothing.
Not quite sure what to do.
Is there a reset button for it?
Anyone any thoughts?
Thanks.
try to get it into download mode...by pressing power button and down button
It's like im clicking nothing, doesn't make a difference, still powered off.
What rom did you flash on your note?
I have realized that I flashed a wrong ROM on there.
It's for N700 the other note. not the i717
[ROM] CriskeloRomNOTE ICS V1 Beta3
Although im CWM it read the file and expanded it.
You probily have bricked your galaxy note as the 2 different model notes, use different boatloaders as they both use differnt cpu chips. You will have to take your phone to Bell to get it fixed or replaced.
Try this method. ..pull battery and put it back in...hold down volume up and down while plugging into pc...
That may get you into download mode so you can flash the stock rom etc
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
You can try one of these. They're only a couple of dollars and supposed to force the phone into DL mode. I believe someone on the forums said it works for the ATT note:
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-s-download-mode-jig/
Nothing worked,
Bell wouldn't send it away because it's been rooted, doesn't that void the warranty.

For the future, NEVER admit to rooting a phone that cannot be turned on... Almost never comes back once mailed away from the dealer.... They just don't care... Just play dumb at the dealer....
You can buy a jig for $8.00 that will get you to download mode and flash back to stock. I bought mine from video tech out of Texas.

emmc brick

I think I emmc bricked my phone, i have been searching for hours and cannot find any info on whether or not it is possible to recover from this, I did have a rogue kernel on the phone when the kernel first came out, I bought the s3 and have not messed the the s2 for a while then I went to sell it so I wiped it, booted up to the samsung screen but would not go any further so i pull the battery. Now when I turn it on the blue light comes on and stays on solid, nothing happens. The light will turn off for a second and come back on if i hold down the power button but nothing shows on the screen. The only way to get the light to go back off is to pull the battery. Am I screwed or is there a way to fix this?
Can you enter download or recovery mod via 3 buttons?

Can you specify which rom you were using and how did you perform the wipe?
Can you enter download mode (power+voldown+home) ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
If you can enter download mode, just flash a stock rom through odin
i was using rogue kernel with caulkins ics leaked rom, I wiped through cwm and the phone will not goin into recovery or download mode now. I cannot even get anything to show on the screen just that blue light
If the ROM was Android Version 4.0.4 and wiped thru CWM recover then it is highly possible that it must have spoilt the mother board. You need to take the device to service centre and if it is under warranty they might repair by replacing the mother board upon your request as it is manufacturer's fault which is widely discussed in XDA as emmc bug. Hope you will get a free service/replacement

Next time first look into general.
rogue kernel i think not disable emmc_erase command.

Are you saying to do this to prevent it or to fix it? I did see that post in general but it was not until after I had already had the rom and kernel on there and I have not used that phone in forever, I also read at the bottom that there is no fix for it but it was back in july is why I asked if someone had come up with a fix yet
I purchased this phone off ebay last year and have the s3 activated now with my insurance on it so I am assuming I have no warranty on the s2
If it's are Emmc bug you phone is expensive paper weight...
will the usb jig put it into download mode?

If your phone has been hard bricked due to the Emmc bug then there is nothing you can do. I read that even Jtag repair will not work. Only thing is Mainboard replacement. If you are still under warranty just play dumb and say it wouldn`t go on one day.

I'm stuck guys!!! Installed jellybean stock and then went into recovery today and press wipe data and my daughter then shut it down accidently halfway through , it now only boots to splash screen, no recovery, pc won't recognise it, I can't do anything..... Any suggestions

Hold the powerbutton till it vibrates than hold the vol down button till you get the white text. Than volume up. Recovery... Install new Rom unless you have no recovery at all... Than use nvflash?

Nothing comes on the screen but a splash screen with Asus in the middle and "The device is unlocked" top right, I cannot believe from having a tablet that was running to now a tablet that cannot to my knowledge be fixed.... I'm so gutted.... Is there a jig or something so I can connect somehow to the tablets with a pc, my pc doesn't recognise it, I'm guessing I have a hard bricked Tablet here and bootloader is unlocked so Asus will just laugh at me and charge me more than its worth to fix it...... I'm sure this is gonna be a more and more popular problem as people updated to jellybean and may use the wipe in the stock recovery..... So a lesson here to you all that may do..... Don't use wipe in Stock jellybean if your battery is less than 40% its just not worth the risk.... If anybody had any ideas I would appreciate them. Thank you.

I have the same exact problem.... I can, however, get the computer to recgonize it through APX by resetting the prime holding the power button volume up. This puts it into APX mode. Unfortunately, I can't do a full system flash because I never backed up my NVFlash data....
I hit wipe data in the recovery screen as well and BAM. toast....

Did you try installing universal naked drivers found in the development thread? When you plug in the tab to pc what shows in the device manager? A data wipe shouldn't get rid of the recovery.....
I'm in missing something with the naked drivers as I downloaded them but they don't seem to be installable, just small files that open up notes about them, do I put these in a certain folder in Windows..... There is no. Exe. Files as to install them.... What I'm I doing wrong??

Taken from this page...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502&highlight=install&page=12
You need to do so through device manager. Choose Update Driver for the device, then "specific driver" (browse option) then "Have Disk" and point to the path you have the driver files. On newer windows OS's you should get a "Driver not signed" warning just click install. Voila, driver installed.
Of course the device needs to be plugged into the pc at the time....
But it doesn't even know it's connected, I've connected the usb to Asus prime and pc I've turned on prime and it's on slash screen but the pc isn't doing anything, and in device manager it doesn't show anything about my prime being connected

If you are unlocked and only have access to APX mode, but can't get to bootloader, and you have not installed NVFlash, the only option is to get a new motherboard and figure out how to install it which cost around 150$, or send it to Asus and have them repair it for like 160$+60$+10$, :/ sorry.

Yeah thats what I was worried about but had pretty much expected... Can you elaborate on the Asus costs? I have requested my RMA and will be shipping it to them today to see how much they are going to charge me.
$160 - for the motherboard?
$60 - for the work?
$10 - for them to ship it back?
Total Cost $230 - crap on a stick, that's a lot....

A similar thing happened to me - installed JB, rebooted and stayed on the splash screen. Like you I hadn't installed NVFlash or anything. I didn't even have my serial number handy. Rma'd mine on the pretense I was going to pay to have it fixed. It turns out mine (after they salvaged the serial number) was still under the manufacturers warranty and I should be receiving it back today. Maybe you might have the same luck?

[Q] Note i717 Hard reset

Hello, I bought a Galaxy note I717D from a pawn shop yesterday and it was locked by the previous owner. I am trying to do a factory wipe but when i power on holding the volume down button it goes to odin mode screen and sits there, ( I gave up waiting after an hour )
I can power it down and reboot normally. since the phone is locked I can't get into it to see if has been rooted or even check usb debugging mode to try rooting it.
can anybody point me towards a solution to make this useable.

I do believe if you can get into download mode that you can use kies to do an emergency firmware restore that should wipe the entire phone. I have not had to do this so I can't say for certain, but I think I remember seeing a thread with a similar issue around here before.

Yes I tried google first, all the direction I found said to use the volume down button or volume up or both and I tried all three. But I found the answer now, it turns out the volume up button is intermittent and have it working now
