Not with my DX, but on another 3rd party devices i see this bug, but in that case it was a hardware bug with the wifi module, and the service center change the whole device for me. Is it came only with the new kernels only?

This bug is, when your bcmdhd.ko is missing..... WiFi won't turn on.....
My kernel have modules built in. So delete them from system lib modules.....
If you use other kernel, use what op says

You probably installed a ROM without the recommended kernel. If you are S-ON you need to install a kernel manually, with the fastboot command.
Try to search this forum, many solutions.

Here is the Desire Z / Vision ROM. I'm not sure if I wanna maintain another Desire thread, so I am just throwing this out there. I may get to it eventually, but I want others to have a crack at it too. Based off of the Official RUU, 1.24x. There's things that don't work, but I'm sure somebody (if I don't) with some time will get it working.

Here's what you need to do:
I'm using Clockwork recovery.
First install and backup a working Desire HD Rom.(I used eViL's NXSense HD v.0.4 Rom)
Then wipe everything.
Then install the eViL-NXSense-Z.zip.
Don't reboot system now.
Go to backup and restore.
Advanced Restore.
Choose the Desire HD Rom you backed up earlier.
Restore boot.
Reboot system now.
Enjoy!
You can also install the eViL-NXSense-Z.zip.
Then find and install a kenrel that gets other things working like wifi I used this one:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/55e2kehvk5ae57i/boot-cm_2633.5-oc-uv-btn-aud-ram-neon_fp-052810.zip
As posted by others you can also use a few of wildmonks kernels.
Hopefully others will post a direct link to the other working kernels.

Hi there! ROM looks awful, but I've found another problem. After flashing, and booting first time, gsm network doesn't worked. I've thought, that after quick setup, pin code request page will be shown, but not. Tried to restart phone, but still no gsm, cause no pin code request page again.

This rom uses the new baseband. If you do not know what it is, you probably have the old baseband.
Maybe if I understand baseband differences between stock froyo and stock gb, and I've flashed cm7 nightlies over v20g, and nightlies worked, sense port should worked too.

bug
wifi and microphone please...
Some bugs that i found out
First of all i have to say that this rom looks amazing. the text is crisp and clear and is very smooth but there are lots of bugs in this rom.
Following is the list of the bugs :
1) As reported the camera and wifi does not work.
2) the phone takes a lot of time to boot. (i know the first boot takes a little time but even after that it takes more than needed time to bootup)
3) When your phone is locked and you press any hardware button to turn on the screen, the screen goes black and it's only when you touch the screen the lock screen shows up.
4) Also none of the hardware buttons have backlight when pressed.
5) The microphone does not work as well.
6) whatever settings are made it reverts back to what it was before. for example if you chance the brightness or set any ringtone or make other changes it reverts back to what it was before.
7) Also the date and time does not change even when you try to change it.
I have faith in the developer and i know soon a stable version of this rom will be out.
Thank you.
Nice work..when will you update it..I love HTC sense ui

I am having this problem for a while now...my camera doesn't work.when i press the icon, camera application launches with the camera buttons and then with the small preview icon on the right side being black. The screen displays what is in front of the camera but the buttons are totally not functioning. If I wait for it, it then says "camera application not responding" then gives me the option to wait or force close.
-rebooting doesn't help
-clearing data doesn't help
-using another camera application (same result)
-The best solution that I came up with is reflashing ROM (wiping everything)
-if that doesnt work, reformatting SD card
sometimes it works..sometimes not
when fixed, it just runs for a couple of weeks then afterwards, the same thing happens again and I am getting tired of it.
So I would like to seek out your help now enlightened members of xda...please help me
PS..this happens on any kind of rom (oxygen and currently LEWA OS)
Anyone out there who can help me? anyone who experiences the same issues?

Ok, guys here's the link of the ParanoidAndroid ROM i have been trying to port from One V. I have the permission from 1ceb0x.
LINK: http://d-h.st/Rkj
Gapps: http://d-h.st/ul6
Thanks to 1ceb0x, for giving me permission to use his ROM, and Lloir for his CM9 base...
How to flash:
1. take a nandroid backup.
2. wipe cache and data
3. go to fastboot mode and connect your phone to pc
4. place system.img in the same directory as fastboot
5.open command line (terminal) and go to your fastboot directory
6. type fastboot flash system system.img
7. reboot
We really need stable 4.1 AOSP for me to continue working on this. Waiting.
Changelog
Code:
0.1-----Initial build
0.2-----Used Lloir's vendor and device trees, tweaked build.prop, removed hTC crap
0.3-----Rebased, now using Lloir's CM9. Also, link is now on Dev-Host.
0.4-----Fixed updater-script.
0.5-----Now ROM packed in system.img

Um, I'm not sure if I'll be able to, I've been trying to get an angle on how all this stuff works and I get the basics but when I look at github, it's like Chinese to me (or Taiwanese, since its HTC). I've looked at countless guides to port CM9, set up VMWare and Ubuntu 10 but it's a steep learning curve. Last month I maxed out our bandwidth (100 gig) trying to set up a local mirror for the source, which kind of defeated the purpose

If when you go to settings->wifi it says "Wifi is turning on" or something relevant to that
you should reinstall rom and make sure you Factory Reset on CWM.
wifi issue
I did all the steps correctly (factory reset-wipe dalvik-wipe cache-format system-format data) but didn't work for me again
It's typically a kernel issue. See if there is another compatible kernel for PA for your phone.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say in the forum for your phone where you got the rom from...Search in the PA thread. Surely others have tried different kernels there or search for others with wifi issues with that version and see if there's an easy fix.
