stuck on bootloop happened when i flashed a 4.1.2 rom with odin but instead of putting it in PDA i put it in Bootloader
so whenever i flash a 4.1.2 rom no matter which country's version it is and even if it's put correctly on PDA i still get bootloop
but when i flashed 4.2.2 rom the issue is gone
what can i do to flash a 4.1.2 and avoid the bootloop?

you have already another similar thread by you buddy. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333271
you were asked to do factory reset. if there isn't positive result, mega wipe and flash the rom via odin.

Hi Guys could anyone give me a hand. early today I soft bricked my SGS2 trying to remove yellow triangle. Before that I was on SensatioN ROM 3.5 ICS by Crysis21 and Kernel Syiah 3.3.2 .
I was able to bring it back to life with help of the thread Fix an unflashable or soft bricked GSII
Now I am on GB 2.3.5 kernel I9100XXKI3 I have rooted it with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-42-v4.2-CWM4
My problem is I would like to go back to my 4.0.3 Sensation ROM. I cannot flash Syiah kernel and restore my backup with CWM. What can I do to achieve this.
I am hoping for your help
You have to restore your backup via cwm5, not cwm4
Do these with Odin!!!
1. Flash a stock official samsung ICS firmware (let's say XWLPG)
2. Flash latest siyah kernel (the one for odin, not cwm!!!)
then restore your backup.
thanks

I remember my stock samsung ICS was an LP7. I have downloaded it and flashed it using odin but Odin stops "not responding" do you think I have a bad copy of the firmware?

just an update: I re downloaded the kernel I9100DXLP7 and successfully flashed it with Odin. it passed and started to reboot but did not fully reboot. Only start screen SGS2 and goes black. No animation.
Can anyone let me know what happened? I hope I am on the right track to be back to ICS 4.0.3

Somehow you've messed up with your operating system and it needs a clean start.
Enter Recovery mode and do a Wipe / factory reset
Restart again

Thanks to everyone for keeping my SGS2 alive.
I did the ICS version of neerajganga from thread Fix an unflashable or soft bricked GSII and it was successful. I tried this to bring me closer to my goal... ICS 4.0.3 next I rooted it with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPH-v5.2-CWM5 to get CWM5 and finally restored my siyah kernel with sensation rom. Its back and running.
Again Thank you to all!

I am a newbie from Nepal. I dont have much knowledge of flashing. A week ago i tried to flash CMW recover while i was in resurrection remix JB rom. Till then i am not able to start my phone because it freezes at "Samsung Galaxy S2" logo... Now i dont know the CSC, PDA and kernel version of my mobile. So please help me solve my problem, how can i make it work?
Boot into recovery (Turn phone off. Then hold home/power/volume up) & do a wipe/factory reset. Or if you have a recent backup (or any backup) restore that from recovery. I've done this a couple of times over the past few mths when my phone has spontaneously bootlooped.
didnt help

Boot into download mode (Phone off. Home, power, volume down) & flash a stock rom in Odin; go to Samfirmware or AndroidFirmwares.net & get a stock rom (or get the PC version of Checkfus). Flashing instructions here

Sorry i cant access my external sd card in CWM recovery and i dont know how to access internal memory of my phone since it can only boot into recovery and download mode...
In that case flash any stock rom you like. I gather you'll be going back to a custom rom pretty quickly in any case (?) so it doesn't matter. Whatever you do tho, do not flash a PIT.

All I can do is download a rom which is in zip format, but i know odin does not support .zip but it supports .tar, so how can i download rom in .tar, also does it matter if I flashed the rom which is not meant for my region?(I mean I dont know my phone's PDA and I am not able to decide which firmware to download since every firmware has its own specific PDA)... Yes, I'll be going back again to custom rom after I make it work...haha
AFAIK a rom for another country wont break your phone, but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug

go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and choose the stock or even another stock rom you wish, download it.
Boot into download mode and flash the single .tar file through odin, flashing instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
PD: if the downloaded file is .zip and not .tar, just extract the zip and u'll get the .tar

He means don't do a wipe/factory reset from recovery while you're running that kernel. Once you switch to a custom kernel you can relax tho.

Parameter is incorrect error can be caused by either of two reasons
1 . something is wrong with the file you downloaded try re downloading
2.Kies is interfering with Odin, terminate Kies from the background by using the task manager.
Using GT - I9100
Just hit the damn help button if I helped you.

Hi All
I have a rooted GT-9100 phone with Jelly bean official Samsung Rom installed.
Build No : JZ054K.I9100XWLST
Baseband Ver. : I9100DDLS9
In the last few days i was having problems with many apps, and phone is restarting automatically. so i decided to do factory reset, after that as always the starter mode wanted me to select the language, after asked to update Time and date which i did and then suddenly the screen went black.
It started to reboot and since then the phone is stuck at the Samsung Logo.
what now? any suggestions?
FYI: I have rooted device with Siyah Kernel 3.0.31.

same issue
hello, i know this is a 6 months old thread but this is the first time now i found someone with the same issue.
Firstly i played around with flashing shiyah with sort of worked but i never had root acces, but thats not the problem here.
I did a factory reset when phone was stable and everything broke. It would boot up untill the language select, screen dims a bit after 1 sec, and then it restarts. When shiyah kernel is on there it will just stay stuck on the samsung text after boot after that. When i flashed stock kernel etc it would boot up the same at first, crash on language select. and then show the samsung boot animation over and over (not the sound though thats only the first time). in CWM recovery of shiyah whiping cache reset and dalvik wont help..
i find it strange that it broke on the factory reset.
Did you manage to solve this ?

So flash a stock rom with Odin to get back to square one ? You've probably flashed a version of Siyah that's incompatible with what you're currently running (Android version-wise). Once you've done that, flash PhilZ to root your phone+CWM & go from there (if you want to persist with Siyah, read the thread thoroughly to ensure you're flashing the correct version for the Android version you're running).
If simply flashing stock doesn't fix the problem, do a factory reset after you flash the stock rom. If that doesn't work, find Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in General, download the 3 part firmware linked to in the thread & flash that (this will wipe your phone).

thanks this will give me something to do, ill report back what worked
My phone isn't bricked, however, it will not work at all on any other Rom. I have tried three Roms now but I can only get my phone to boot into the stock Touchwiz, and since I cannot update my phone because it is rooted, I am stuck on 4.1.2. I really badly want a different Rom but my phone is not letting me boot into any. My phone seems to get past the initial samsung galaxy s3 splash screen but then stays on the Rom's boot screen indefinitely causing me to boot into recovery and restore a backup.
Some background info: I originally rooted after downgrading my phone due to the buggy 4.3 update but was not intended to root, I only did because my phone then stopped allowing connection and I had to root to flash a new baseband version that was compatible. I then went through a lot of trouble as I flashed back to my original baseband version of I9300XXELLA but it did not work so I googled and found that I could download I9300DDEMG2 baseband version, it was my only shot so I did it and now connection works, but I am worried that this could be a contributer to my problem, I tried flashing back I9300XXELLA before flashing a new Rom but it did nothing.
-Yes, I am on the latest version of my recovery (CWM 6.0.4.6)
-I have tried; Cyanogenmod, Omega Rom and Resurrection Remix and all three did the same thing.
-I downloaded GetRIL but that says I am on incompatible baseband and RIL versions but it seems to never change when (I think at least) it is on the correct version.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Do a factory reset, format internal sd and flash the latest 4.3 stock using odin, factory reset again afterward.
If everything is okay then flash philz recovery using odin.
Fresh download of your custom rom, check md5 then flash with philz.
Again factory reset, format internal sd and allow first boot for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Hello Guys,
I have been trying to fix my phone (SGS2 I9100), what happened exactly all the sudden the whatsapp app crashed and the phone needed to be restarted so i did since then the phone is stuck at samsung logo, i flashed a new kernel siyahv6.0.1.2 but still wont boot AND yellow triangle showed like it getting worth.
I can access the recovery (CWM-BASED RECOVERY V6.0.1.2-SIYAH) and download mode, its JB 4.0 or 4.1 not sure .
What should I do now to safe my phone, or is there a way to recover my data ??
appreciation to everyone
I would flash Sammy stock 4.1.2 firmware with Odin to get the phone running first. Data can be retrieved may not be all but yes it can be done. If you're on 4.0.4 don't factory reset you're phone or format data.

thanks for the quick reply, can I retrieve my data before I flash the firmware?from where can I get the firmware?
I could not find stock firmware so I flashed cyanogenmod and still cant boot my device, what should I do now ?
Sammobile.com is the place to go for stock Sammy firmware mate. Flash that through Odin and once it's booted if you have boot loop factory reset but only if you flash 4.1.2 or 4.0.3 but never factory reset on 4.0.4 . As for the data you want..yes get that before you flash stock. Simple google search will tell you what you need to do for that. Few good guides on xda on how to do that.
