[Q] How to instal driver properly? (PMP5097CPRO) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
it's almost 2-3 hours that i'm stuck with instaling drivers on pc for my Prestigio Multipad PMP5097CPRO.
I wanna root it, but I need first to install drivers propery to debug via USB.
Root with "ICS Root Unlocker"
I used that guide sendspace.com/file/4dwex1
tried with different versions of Rockusb, but still the same. (unable to install drivers)
I even tried different usb cable/port/ and pc, but no work (win7 64bit)
ADB driver don't work too. I've read this thread but find nothing similar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796067 or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957790
Any idea
thanks

Go to www.snappea.com and install it on your PC, with phone disconnected from PC. Once snap pea installs it will pop up a message asking you to turn on USB debugging on phone then it will ask you to connect to pc, Snap pea should be able to install a generic ADB driver that will work for what you need.

PDANet ADB Driver Failure

I was trying to install PDANet yesterday onto my laptop, I follow all the isntructions during installation and allow the drivers to be installed. I choose Samsung as my phone. At one point it asks me to connect my phone to my PC, which I do. It proceeds to dl 4 things, 3 out of the 4 download and install fine, but the ADB Driver installation fails every time (this is windows downloading drivers, not the installation itself). I have tried finding ADB drivers on my own with little success.
to confirm before the question is asked, yes the USB debugging option is turned on. ADB driver just keeps failing to download and install using windows.
same issue with my HP laptop
Driver name is S3c6410 Android ADB

ADB failing to install?

So I just got an Atrix and im trying to root it, however when I plug it in, after setting USB Mode to None and turning on the USB Debug, ADB drivers fail to install. It shows up in my device manager with a ! ontop of the icon, and windows tells me it cant find a driver. I manually downloaded the drivers but that still didnt help, my phone isnt making a connection of the bridge. Ive wiped everything everything motorola related, reinstalled the drivers manually, reinstalled the ADB driver manually, rebooted about 10 times and now im absolutely stuck.
Has anyone run into this before? Im going to try plugging the phone into my work computer today, but id like to be able to get this working on my home computer. I followed the guide thats available out there that tells you to run the driver installer and delete all the files it shows, and that didnt help either. Im on Windows 7 but i also have a laptop with Ubuntu available, however i couldnt find a rooting guide for linux so im not sure if that will help.

32 bit.
Tried on 2 different PC's, my home computer and my work computer. ADB driver fails to install on both. Both running windows 7 32bit.

I got it sorted. Installed the ADB driver manually (choosing the regular adb driver NOT the composite driver) and then ran super one click to start the ADB service. Then once the phone was connected, ran aroot and it worked.

[Q] Unable to install fastboot drivers

When i plug in my phone into the computer and try to manually install the driver it always says that the driver was not found...
i have tried this even in the pc and laptop.
Did you follow the exact steps listed in the sticky in the development section, as well as the recommendation for alternate drivers?

If you are taking abut fastboot drivers try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554632
It worked fine for me.
If you are taking about general drivers I don't know, I just plugged the phone and they installed automatically.

USB Drivers

Hello,
I rooted my phone about a year and a half ago, since then I haven't been able to get its USB drivers to work so I can't do anything with it on my computer and I'm stuck with 2.3.6 touchwiz.
I have tried everything, including different computers/usb cords/usb ports. I got the usb port replaced, have tried installing the drivers on my computer using kies and directly.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers several times. Each time it tells me the driver install failed, but when I try again it recognizes that the drivers are installed. When I try installing drivers manually windows doesn't find them in the installation folder. I'm using windows 7 64bit.

What does the device manager say your device is? Like, whats the name it pulls up? and what is the error for not starting?
Have you messed with putting the phone in diagnostics mode ?

No. You should install the drivers then your phone should be recognised, follow the root guide in this forum.

tbh the drivers are very temperamental, as I have windows 10 I had to restart the Pc disabling the driver enforcement. I had the same issue as yourself but I uninstalled and reinstalled and fiddled around a bit to get the drivers to work.
Now they are installed with no issues.
I actually used the "SP_Driver_v2.0" .. found HERE
I have also noted that another driver (Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1236.00.zip) is HERE but I think I had issues with that driver (dont know why)
The SP_Driver_v2.0 worked for me .. hope you get it sorted, i know how frustrating it is ;0)
Technically you can perfectly root without PC. But you need to have a custom recovery on your phone. To get the custom recovery, you need to flash it, using a PC.
But once you have the recovery, rooting does not require a PC, just the su binary.
If windows isn't recognizing your device at all, it might be a bad USB cable? I had issues with windows - ended up using linux.
i used SP_Driver_v.2.0 but doesn't work for me for preload, i connect my device and in device managment it is with triangle and it disconnects after 2~3 seconds and goes in offline charging. is there any preload driver for win 10 64 bit that actually works?
Same problem with my P9000.
Unable to get SPFT to see my device.
Tried hours, disabling driver signature, secure boot, many different drivers and SPFT versions.
It's frustrating. Can't update OTA to 20160810 version, FOTA installed firmware from july and tells me it's up to date.
Can i install newest firmware without PC and no custom recovery from device storage?
