[Q] google now and problem with wifi disconnecting - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would like to ask you for help in some strange matter.
I have Note 2 (N7100) with stock soft 4.1.2. not rooted
Maybe first I will describe the circumstances and then the problem.
Recently I have installed llama in order to control the time of wi-fi connection and the time of synchronization. I added the rule: screen on wifi and synchronization on and screen off - wifi and synchronization off. Moreover I installed in my car NFC tag in order to auto connect with my car radio. For this I installed from Google Market the plugin Bluetooth Auto Connect and NFC Task Launcher. Everything works fine, when I’m switching the screen on, wifi is connecting and synchronization is on and in reverse when I’m switching the screen off wifi and synchronization is switching off. The rule in NFC Task Launcher concerning auto connecting to my car radio also works fine. However the problem is that after some time (let’s say after a few hours) when the screen is on and I’m connected to wifi, wifi suddenly disconnects when I’m clicking on widget of ‘google now’ although wifi is on. When I’m switching the screen off and again switching it on wifi is connecting but again when I’m clicking on google now the situation repeats. The only solution is to restart my phone but the whole problem comes back after a few hours.
Did anyone have the same or similar problem? Please help me to solve it.

[Q]Permanently Disable Wi-Fi on S2

Hi. I have hardware problems (I guess) on my SGS2, and when I turn ON my wifi, it's stucked at "Turning-on WiFi" without really turning ON. This is also true on when I reboot, my S2 automatically opens my WiFi, and as expected, stucks on "Turning-ON WiFi" again, which, maybe, drains my battery.
Why guess? I changed ROMs from Stocks to AOSPs and no chance of really turning the WiFi ON.
I searched on XDA (obviously) and found this thread, saying that I should delete the /system/lib/modules/bcmdhd.ko (or some bcm* file) to disable the WiFi module, but on the Stock Jelly Bean (Currently Using), there's no /modules directory...
Searched for the file "bcm" through Root Explorer, and it showed a LOT of bcm-named files, so I have no idea what to delete...
Can you guys help me out?
I appreciate if you would. Thanks!
Surely you must take it in assistance, putting ourselves on maybe the ROM stock. You're not the first, but most people have solved the problem in this way
Try change kernel that should be works

Galaxy s2 GPS doesn't work good

Hello .i bought Galaxy s2 i9100 VERSION 2.3.5 and i updated the ROM to android v 4.1.2 I9100XWMS1_I9100NEELS1_NEE_4.1.2 JellyBean.
my problem is that the GPS does not work great .whene wifi is activated the GPS works great .but whene i desabled wifi ,sometimes in google maps he show me a diferent place and sometimes he shows me nothing . what is the probleme ? can you help me ?
Probably the problem is with your pool servers. When you use wifi or cellular data your gps find sattelites with extra help of this. But if you want use only gps without companion you mast set your proper lokalization with app from gp. You must change region for your gps probably as defualt is africa. You need to set proper localization. And everything should works ok

Adding to mosepel's advice - use TopNtp and GPS status&toolbox from Google Play

Z2 Accelerometer not working?

Hi guys,
My Z2's accelerometer has stopped working. Just suddenly stopped working, i have tried resetting the phone and also tried the *#*#SERVICE#*#* and tried the test and the ball is stuck in the top right corner and not moving.
I've made sure that auto rotate is turned on and that all the settings are on.
Is there anything else I can try? maybe I have missed a setting somewhere?

Try the current rolling out software update as last option. Maybe something is screwed up. Also if you have blocking stuff like Xprivacy running, try to disable that.

P9000 rotation doesn't work

After Elephone_p9000_20160715 the auto-rotation stopped working. Is anybody experiencing this problem?
Nope, everything fine here with 20160715.

I think this update is to much buggy ?
Have you already checked if its enabled in the configs? does it help disable it and enable it again ? Also are you using the Stock ROM ?
I find it reverts to 'Stay in Portrait View' every time it is switched off and on again. Extremely annoying. Anyone know how to fix this?

Issues with performance and bluetooth...

The issue I have been having with performance is that the phone seems to stutter and lag a lot when multitasking (something a flagship device really shouldn't be doing, I'm not running that many apps at once). I'm considering changing to a galaxy S7, but I thought I would first ask if using a custom ROM (perhaps changing the thermal manager too) has much benefit in this regard? Sometimes this slowdown seems to fix itself with a reboot, but having to reboot the phone every couple of days is also not something that should be necessary, and also then means I have to make sure my android wear app is connected properly and other such things. It's an annoyance at best.
The bluetooth issue is something else, and may be android rather than phone related. For the last month or so, when connected to either my car radio or my headphones, the phone will occasionally just stop playing and disconnect from bluetooth. Sometimes it will reconnect after like 30 seconds or so, but generally it's quicker for me to turn bluetooth off and on, or unpair and repair using the controls on the car radio. Not sure what to do to fix this, can't find any examples of this happening to anyone else.
Do you have "wear launcher" or "Hermiston" installed? Some people on Z3c thread think that some apps can cause Bluetooth problem. In my side I deleted "Wear launcher" and I have no more problem with Bluetooth. It's linked to an app because after full wipe, there is no more problem

Never heard of Hermiston... I have the AndroidWear app, and an app called Wear Messages. I could maybe delete wear messages and see if that helps, but the disconnect doesn't seem to happen when I recieve messages specifically so I can't see it being related.
I'm sorry, problem with dictionary of phone... I spoke about "wear mini launcher" and "marmiton"

I have the same problem with Bluetooth, it's horrific..
I use the same apps as on my old Xperia Z, never had a problem on the old one.
I think it is a bug in the firmware.
About performance, a custom rom isn't going to do u any good at this moment.
I use stock Sony firmware, no xposed, only custom kernel (using the stock settings) and a lot bloatware removed.
My setup runs great but I can't compare with fully stock because it's been a while for me.
Only other issue I'm having is after a call via Bluetooth in my car, the screen keeps awake in my pocket, pressing all the possible pincode buttons and therefore drains my battery.
Last day, from 80% the last time I checked to 27%... This is a bug too because my old Z screen would just turn off after a call in my pocket.

I also have the same problem when multitasking. Using Google Maps while playing some music really hurts the phone a lot. In my case, either the Maps app or the Music app would just stop working. And I believe that the performance reduction seems to be strongly related to Thermal Throttling. Also using Stock Rom and Everything. Also Experienced the Bluetooth problem, sometimes disconnecting at random. What I would do is forget the connected device and pair again. Also experiencing some delay on Bluetooth audio and occasional stuttering.
