Hey folks.
Every time I get a message and I access it from my lock screen the message app keeps closing itself meaning I have to open it again. Gets annoying when there are messages coming through often. Can anyone suggest any ideas? I cleared the cache already via recovery but did not help.

More information are helpful. Do you think we know which rom you use?

Hello, first post and all. Been having this problem for quite some time now. Every time I try to enable multi touch from my sgs2 an error keeps popping up (com.android.inputmethod.latin) making me disable it yet again. This is somehow linked to the sync update for contacts as this error comes up when I try to update my contacts with facebook. Anything to enlighten me on this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't need to save any messages, try clearing the cache.
Settings>Apps>Manage Apps>Messaging>Clear Data
Thanks

Hi payat7,
What ROM did you have when you had this problem?
I started having it happen randomly after one of the latest CM9 nightlies (around the beginning of June).
I have just a bit over 10,000 text messages, was this your scenario as well?
Thanks!
My settings keep force closing on me whenever I try to click on something to get more information. For example when I went to motion and clicked the smart alert button to learn more it would freeze and then force close on me every time. Is anybody else experiencing this? I'm on stock rooted rom.
(Also the xda premium app force closes a lot too.. Just a side note.)

Did you freeze or uninstall any system apps? That could be it

boot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache and that should fix it. Also, what rooted rom are you running?
I pretty much on stock rooted rom, it's actually Whitehawks debated stock rom. And all I did was flash that rom and use Robinsons aroma debloater full debloat. That was a long time back and then I just installed my regular market apps. The setting things I just noticed a couple days back. I didn't go into settings much. Gapps also frequently force closes too, I don't know what's causing it.
The xda force close is because I think something is wrong with the app. I saw reviews on play saying the same thing.
But yeah I didn't mess with freezing or un installing with tit bacmup.
I'll try and do the dalvik wipe and see what happens.

Tried doing the dalvik and cache wipe problem persists. The settings just force close when I learn more about smart alert and like try it and others like it, also on phone status. It just bugs me.
I really don't want to wipe and install again

Hey, everybody!
I have a little issue with my i9300: when I go to the Settings menu, Application manager, the list of Downloaded application takes 30 seconds or more to show the used space for every application. If I select an application while such info is not present, the Details show "Computing..." and it usually takes the phone about a minute to show the details.
Does anybody have this issue? I know it does not really affect the phone, as I can uninstall applications, clear cache, etc; but it's a bit annoying to find this settings section to be slow. And I do not know whether a specific application is slowing it down or what.
I would really appreciate any help, tips, or hints to solve this annoyance.
Thanks!
Mine's the same and has been on every ROM that I've tried.
I guess it has to access the app to ascertain what data is being stored.

Yeah, kinda weird. Now that I remember, I had the same issue on my S2, but my wife does not (S2 as well).
Yeah I've just checked on my wife's S2 and it calculates it quicker but she's got a fraction of the amount of apps as me

Everytime I use Facebook messenger ill receive these errors one right after the other. They appear after I send a message or shutdown the app. I uninstalled and re-installed and the same thing keeps happening. Thanks in advance.

Wipe and flash the rom again also what launcher are you using ?
No rom, just stock rooted. Using GO launcher. However I've been using GO launcher for a loong time now including having both apps of which neither has had a recent update

I have problems with messenger when I have the chat heads active. I will receive the system ui crash lots of times and then when I disable it I never see the error again. Might be worth a try?
I've had the chat heads disabled since they first came out, not a fan.
Well I narrowed it down at least. It was my launcher (GO Launcher) I set sense as my default and used FB messenger and didn't receive the messages. No to figure out why. I'm gonna contact GO as they have EXCELLENT customer service, partly the reason I use their products.

Huh that's strange that you all of a sudden started getting errors with that launcher even though you've used it for a long time. Glad that you were able to get it narrowed down though and hopefully they will have an idea of what's wrong and how to fix it
