Hello,
Any updates on when T-Mobile, if at all, plans to release Android 4.2.2 or 4.3 for the HTC One?
Thanks,
Crazysah
"Soon" is about all we heard.
My guess is that we'll get the same OS that is on the HTC One Mini, and we'll get it when the Mini hits T-Mobile stores.

At this point it's all on T-Mobile. Since international 4.2.2 has been out... For while... Sigh... T-Mobile....

Your probably right. Let's hope we don't have to wait as long as it was for the one s to get jelly bean. I'm very happy with stock (save for a few minor things I wish I could get rid of.. that water game, kids mode and carrier is) sense 5 is perfect in my book.

My guess is the middle of September for 4.2.2.
For 4.3 that will be some time Spring-Summer 2014

i heard soemthing about a tmobile OTA update potentially coming the 29th dont know how credible it is but its something.
It's htc and tmobile. I wouldn't count on an update until at least it's 2 versions behind. Look to the fall for 4.2.2 and don't count on anything beyond that. Just my opinion so take it for what it is, but look at HTC's track record and u will see.

Yeap agreed with you. Though really I'm fine with being on 4.1 right now, I ran Android Revolution for about a month but the lack of Wi-Fi calling/texted is killing me. Once the RUU gets updated i'll flash it and run that till they release a version of 4.2 so mike can integrate Wi-Fi calling with ARHD. 4.2.2 really only had a few things that make it better, mainly using home button as a menu key to get rid of the three dot lower menu. 4.3 doesn't have too many killer features either so i'm not in a huge rush for it, i'd be fine with them skipping over it and just having 5.0 ready to go whenever it comes time.
4.3 adds performance boost, would be nice to see this instead of 4.2.2 hitting America, but in the end id rather see key lime pie over anything

I just want 4.3 for the bluetooth stack. Guess we will see it a year from now.

Reddit doesn't have "copy link" option or something like this.
WiFi calling would be the biggest draw backs in changing the Rom. There is ARHD that supports WiFi calling. The downside would be that it's 4.1.2
Other than that, it is far superioir than the stock T-Mobile.

Based on previous HTC phones, the odds of us getting a 4.3 update are slim to nil, unless on the Developer edition or GPe.

Nexus 4
HTC One GPE (on 4.3 now)
Galaxy S4 GPE (on 4.3 now)
Galaxy S4 - comes preloaded.
Galaxy Nexus
I'm probably missing some other recent devices, but yeah - 4.2.2 is rolling out for smartphones.
This makes me a saaaaad panda, though a Dutch T mobile tester said on their forums that it's 1 to 3 weeks until we get the update.

It seems to me that LG is very eager to ensure the success of their G2 flagship phone, especially given the fact that Samsung and HTC are now a bit behind with the hardware. LG will probably provide the KitKat in order to send a message that they can also provide timely updates, which is one of the reasons that's keeping the enthusiasts adopting their phone (and the enthusiasts are powerful marketing vectors). It would be great to have the KitKat for the G2 in the same day the Nexus 5 is lauched, it would be a very powerful marketing message from LG.
Having used the Optimus 2X for a while, I find this extremely hard to believe. The Nexus 5 reportedly has lower specs than the G2. If the G2 gets 4.4 on the same day as the Nexus 5 is out, it'd seriously hurt the sales of the N5 for Google. But of course, if this is true, it'd be incredible.
How about 4.3 now? Let alone promising 4.4 when it is not even released yet.
-LG G2
Korean models will be for sure the 1st to get it,good to have one lol

Why waste time on 4.3 when they are working out the kinks on 4.2 and then do a direct jump to 4.4? Personally I hope they arent wasting anything on 4.3.
Agreed 4.3 is anyway just a hogwash, i would rather take 4.4 directly(if it brings anything good to table). 4.2.2 was the last major update for me, and anyway performance has been top notch of 4.2.2.
So iron out the kinks in 4.2.2 then upgrade directly to 4.4 and then concentrate on your next flagship.
According to recent leaks, the Nexus 5 will be almost identical (hardware wise) to the international G2! LG is making the Nexus 5 so they have access to the Android 4.4 Code for sure. They may have struck some deal with Google and be able to bring 4.4 to the G2 sooner than we think!

So:
- Different display
- Different camera
- Different battery
- Probably no FM radio
- Different circuit board (given the different button placement)
What more should be different in order to qualify the Nexus 5 as "different" from the G2 (given the fact that the CPU is a common CPU which will be used by all manufacturers in their phones) ?

Taking LG history of not updating there phones add to that the carriers lack of timelynes plus the N5 is set to drop soon i highly doubt we will see 4.4 till at least Q2
Wait, it's from a PRIVATE Facebook chat? There was once LG posted that the next major update was coming to the Optimus 2X the following month. And it never did. So no, my hopes aren't high.

4.2.2 is running fine atm. No need to rush to 4.4.
As said before, I think Nexus 5 will have 4.4 alone for few months, after that LG will follow.

Relax dude. Until samsung or htc comes out with a stock 4.4 rom, LG would not be considered behind. I am confident that LG is working on a 4.4 rom and skipped 4.3 completely.

I don't think that you even read the article, it was published on 14 Nov and discussed the claims of French carrier SFR that the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update would roll out in either November or December of this year. If you have been using Android for a long time now, this comes to me as no surprise. When was the last time any major version of Android just stayed the same at launch. Froyo had 2.2 to 2.2.3, Gingerbread had 2.3 to 2.3.7, Ice Cream Sandwich had 4.0 to 4.0.4, Jelly Bean had 4.1 to 4.1.2, 4.2 to 4.2.2, 4.3 to 4.3.1 and now KitKat has 4.4 to 4.4.2.
I mean are you seriously surprised now that Google has been having subpatches after its announcement. This is why I don't get why people who have non-Nexus phones (carrier phones) are clamoring about wanting Android 4.4 a week after launch. I knew Google would have subpatches and I want those subpatches as part of the LG G2 baseline update to KitKat. I DO NOT want 4.4 at this point. I want 4.4.2 or how ever many subpatches it takes before LG releases it.
Certainly carriers and LG can and have been doing their internal testing of the 4.4 ROM along the way and sync up to the latest baseline as new updates come out especially minor ones like 4.4.2 that can be synced up easily. Android 4.2.2 has been working fine for me so far and I want to make sure Google has their sh1t together with their bug fixes so that OEMs can release a solid Android 4.4 update.

I would be more pissed if they were NOT on 4.4.2. Because that would mean that they are not fixing anything, just letting it go. If I wanted that, I would have gone with an iPhone or a windows phone. I would rather they be on 4.4.9 then on 4.4 now. They could easily leave any minor problems and say that those would not be an issue when 4.5 comes out, so don't worry about it.

true... today, our old Optimus 2x runs kitkat 4.4.4 almost without a problem (depending if you use HDMI and some other minor stuff)
G2 was my choice for upgrade mainly because of the screen size and quality, it looks nicer than other devices i was considering to buy and most important of all - i got it for a bargain for extending my contract with my provider...
