Hi, i want to flash philz_touch_5.11.2-i9300, via stock recovery (zip). Im not sure if this version is compatible with UBELL1 4.1.2 Firmrware.
All the tutorials ive found uses the philz_touch_5.06.1-i9300, and if kind of old.
Ive had problems with odin in the past, thats why i like the stock recovery procedure.
Do you know if i can flash that version?
Im really bad in english, sorry if i wrote something wrong.
1) UBELL1 means nothing! It is of no consequence. i9300 is i9300. Everything for i9300 is compatible with every i9300.
2) stock recovery procedure? You can flash philz via odin or cwm. Not stock recovery. If rooted, also mobile Odin.

I want to install original firmware on my phone using Odin but I have one problem that I can't restore my stock rom backup 'cause of MD5 Mismatch error, so I have a question can I install original firmware using Odin on the custom rom?
Ok, flashed original firmware without any problems, so now I have a question if I will reset my flash counter to zero (0) and I will install custom rom, will it change my flash counter?

Hi there,
I have a question that may seem silly since I am using an S2 for almost a full year, so here it goes:
I am now in the possession of a S3 GT-I9300 and I would like to root it. The firmware model can be seen in the attached print-screen.
Q1: Is there a way to root it from SD, without needing to use CF-Root and Odin (I have found this file CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip but i don't know if it's the right way to proceed as I have rooted directly from stock recovery on my S2)
Q2: I have been reading and there are devices with locked bootloader and others with unlocked bootloaders, and it seems that if you flash one for the other you will probably brick the device. Is there any way to tell what kind of bootloader you have?
Thank you and sorry if my questions seem trivial to you,
Doru

1. There maybe some flash zips that auto-roots your phone without using odin but CF-Auto root is one of the safest way to root.
2. The international model (GT-I9300) is always bootloader unlocked. The root will not damage any part of your bootloader but if you brick your device then i'm 100% sure that you flashed the wrong file. If you want to know what version of bootloader you have then download the app called Android System Info on Google Play.

It doesn't matter what baseband you have. It has nothing to do with the rooting process.

I had this too and I rooted and installed CM 10.1.3 without problems. And it was easy to revert to stock after that and flashed with odin the 4.3. No problem at all.
Thanks for the reassurance was you on the same baseband as well.im thinking of putting a s4 rom on to get the best out of the phone as the standard firmware is slow and eats up all your space.
Firmware and baseband nothing to do with rooting. So its as safe as any other

pardon my ignorance ROOTSU but isn't he asking about flashing also and with a MG4 baseband if he flashes any baseband below MG4 then again EFS issue.

Ask is to root MG4 .
Hi guys. Im a fish here and I need some instructions. I was using CWM on my S3 mini and ive made a success, now I have bought S3 and I want to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-smartdroid-v1-0-t2602543 . I need step-by-setp instructions how to run devil recovery and so on so on. I have S3 in stock, not rooted etc. Please help or send me to certain thread. Thanks alot!
Go read the sticky thread in general forum, CF autoroot then backup your efs. Install a custom recovery to flash your custom rom.
Follow the guides exactly, it's quite easy to brick these phones.
