true. the phone would ask the email and password of your Google account after a few futile attempts. I'm surprised he hasn't figured that out yet.

If so try again cauz it is the easiest way but still if you don't get it then factory reset your phone from the recovery but beware you'll loose all the data.
Proceed with caution.

Being allowed and actually being unlocked are two different things...since it's allowed, go unlock it then try to root. It should work then.
Head over to the dev section and read the directions, enjoy!

Hello Everyone This is my first post on any forum ever, and I can only imagine i'm probably dong it all wrong. I know this is someone else's thread but i wasn't sure if I could start another thread with content matter so close to other threads already on here. I'll try and keep this simple. Fancied a go at rooting my xperia s recently, having previously successfully rooted a galaxy s2 I thought i'd have a go with my Sony. I spent a good amount of time reading the many various guides on here and was fairly disheartened at how little I understood a single thing people were saying on the noobs guide! In the end I decided to go to youtube and search a guide out there. thanks to user inamghafoor i successfully unlocked the bootloader the problem came when it came to rooting my device. everything was fine except when it came to the section using the command prompt to load the .img file for the version build I used to ftf file while he was using a .img file. So now my phones bricked and despite lookng at every page on here regarding sorting this kind of thing out i dont have a clue what to do. The problem is simply dont understand ANY of it, i'm way way over my head. I know I need a .img file for build version 75 but I cant seem to find one that works in the formate have been shown by the guy I mentioned above on youtube. I've tried using the xperia flasher but that and all its guides mean absolutely nothing to me. Is there anything I can do (apart from not be so dumb) or should I just bin the phone and consider it a lesson hard learnt? Thanks so much to anyone that read this far. If i have gone about this whole posting stuff all wrong just let me know and i'll close my account immediately and stop bothering everyone.

Just press volume up + power to reset.
Then go into flashmode (volume down + insert USB at the same time) and flash via flashtools Gingerbread ROM or whatever

Yeah i managed to figure out the 3 vibrate turn off thing. I tried setting up the flash thing but it says x10 so i went to get some 2012 bits for the lt26i and when i go to open them ready to flash there's nothing inside that the flashtool wants to open. Plus with the phone just rebooting every 3 seconds it never gets very far anyhow.

Download the latest flashtools and download any xperia S firmware from development section.
The firmware should be in ftf format.
Place it under /firmwares folder in flashtools, then open flahtools and click flash,ok,choose the firmware that you've download then ok.
Wait till a pop up that tells you to connect your phone, here press volume down and connect the usb cable.
A green led appear and the flashing start.
When the flashing finish, unplug the usb and turn on your phone, will take long time to boot first time.
Done...
PS:use flashtools.exe not flahtools64.exe to start flahtools software.

Once u have the ftf file and flashtool
Install flashtool in any drive lets say c drive
Go to c / flashtool / firmware
In the firmware folder place ftf file
Now go to c / flashtool / driver
And install driver for xperia sola
Now open flashtool
( make sure ur device is off and not connected to ur pc)
Click on thunder icon
Select flashmode
Select ftf file
Check on exclude ta
Also check no final verification
Now click flash
Flashtool will ask u to Connect phone
Now pick up ur SWITCHED OFF phone, press the VOLUME DOWN button... Keep the volume down button pressed.. And connect the usb to ur phone
Flashing will start ( once flashing starts leave the volume down button) and let it finish
it is still witched off........ i just tried once......... Please help........

Is flashing is over???
If yes
Then try to start ur device

I have attached a scrnshot of the same
U r pressing volume down right?? Or mistakenly volume up?? Reinstall the drivers

Xperia U bootloop ST25i
Hello everyone, I was trying to root my phone and followed the method using flashtool and kernel.
for someone reason flash didn't finish and I start getting boot loop.
I looked everywhere and can't find solution, I read this thread and looks I can get my answer here.
I tried above what you guys suggested but still no luck.
I am getting this error View attachment 2535917
Look forward to quick replies and thanks in advance
Solution!!
I tried on other laptop, turn off the antivirus and firewall to let the windows update the driver.
After you need to wait till the window pop up on flash tool instructing to switch off the phone.
Make sure the phone is off for 30seconds and thn hold the volume button down and switch on the phone,.
you will see the flash tool working and you are done
same error

Hello Admin,
28 hours earlier I was a complete noob for using Samsung S III. I had connected my device to laptop for upgrading using KIES. Everything was going on normal and my laptop went in sleep mode. When I checked in so it stated that an error has occurred and firmware upgrade failed. And further told to upgrade using recovery mode. Since then I have been trying to enter in recovery mode. Have tried all the given options of entering in Recovery Mode but not successful till now.
It goes in Download Mode and no response nothing happens even if I keep it the same way for 7 hours.
In Download mode screen displays the information below.
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9300
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS OFFICIAL
Using Kies is the same issue. There's no response even after hours.
Downloaded a 724 MB zip file for ODIN flash and tried that but even then same.
Only one screen: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again
I just need my Phone Contact Numbers. I am ready to reset the to factory settings if I can get those.
Had been trying to solve it since then. Have searched every site every possible forum. Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Open kies.
On the Taskbar select tools and then firmware upgrade and initialisation.
Enter the model name in caps. Ie GT-I9300 and hit ok.
Then enter the serial number written under the battery.
Then do as it says on the pc screen and put your phone in download mode.
Then Flash.

It could be some screwed up partitions but like the poster above me told you if you indeed did delete your bootloader the only way to fix it is with a riff box. I reccommend that you try reflashing the recovery the way you flashed it before and then try booting into recovery if you have any more problems pm me.

You can't use usb debugging when your phone doesn't power on. But it seems like you haven't deleted the bootloader partition but most likely wiped your system partition. Can you enter your recovery?

Try reading this or your last resort could be taking it back to Vodafone if you have warranty and say that it stopped turning on one day and act dumb. Don't tell them that you rooted and played around with it and you might get a replacement.

Hi,
Could you recover bootloader? I am also having same issue. I tried to unlock v860 mobile and when I rebooted after installing ROM my device is not booting at all.
So, have you checked devicemanager in Windows when you connect your phone with usb? Is there an unidentified driver?
Sent from my S500 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem. I deleted bootloader from recovery. And yes on device manager it shows for about 5 sec as an unknown device. Tested win xp and win 7
Well after so many times am posting mostly just to bump this thread and seeing if anyone found a solution for this.
I still have my Smart II V860 after 1 year not working and kinda tried anything to repair it.
Was trying to put a new custum Rom to it that time and must have done something wrong at it and when did a reboot
phone got stuck on the android logo. Since then nothing worked to bring it back.
PC doesnt recognize it. If you go to device manager sometimes shows it as a modem for a few sec and just that.
Cant flash anything new couse ADB and Fastboot commands dont work couse Pc doesnt recognize the Device when conneced even why
have the right installation files for V860 while ADB is working fine with other phone i use.
I also did a home made USB Jig for it but prolly works only on Samsung devices becouse when i used it V860 just restarts
and still on Android logo and yet not recognized on fastboot or ADB.
Vodafone in here doesnt accept it for repair couse 1 year garanty contract has passed and some private mobile service companies i have tried
have not found a solution.
Looks mostly a hardbrick then softbrick to me but really dont know if anything else left to do about it.

Further, I cant see 'repair' option in pc companion.
the next option is to download flashtool (normally the second link in google search) and flash a FTF

Instead of pc companion you can download and install the latest flashtool.. and then download the firmware for your phone.. and it will also not wipe your data.. it will only wipe the application data.. if you dont know where to download the firmware for your device you can ask me i will tell you.. good luck..

Instead of pc companion you can download and install the latest flashtool.. and then download the firmware for your phone.. and it will also not wipe your data.. it will only wipe the application data.. if you dont know where to download the firmware for your device you can ask me i will tell you.. good luck..
