[Q] cm 10.2 android 4.3 battery issue - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a weird battery issue. You can check attached screenshot.
My battery percentage suddenly decreases for example %45 to % 12. Then as soon as I plug in charger it comes for example %12 to %26. Completely unstable battery stats. Sometimes after charging %100 it doesn't decrease for a while. then I reboot phone and it suddenly decreases to %89 or something like that.
2 or 3 times a day device shuts off by itself.
I have cm 10.2 android 4.3 rom and I come from omega v46 android 4.2. (I had same issue on omega). I always perform full wipe before installing a new rom.
I tried factory reset, BBS, remove sd card, reinsert sim card etc.. but I could'nt solve the issue.
Finally I bought another battery but same issue still goes on.Maybe it's about an apk like CPU Adjuster which I previously installed on Omega rom.
Can anybody help?

I am having same battery issues, my battery discharges very fast when the data network is on, my phone doesn't last 5 hours when the data service is on.
PLEASE HELP

My mediaserver drains my battery crazy only when im listening to music
Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-I9300 met Tapatalk 4

I think I was misunderstood. My problem is not battery drain. It's about unstable battery monitoring and device shutting off by itself. As seen on attached picture.
I thing the system app which is supposed to monitor my battery level and percentage is not working properly.

Try a battery calibration, it might resolve your problem

cm roms always have the issue of faster battery draining unlike stock ones. you say that you use better battery stats. then post the log here and someone could help you. (i got good battery by doing this: flashed boeffla kernel beta and put the governor to zzmove> yank extreme battery and installed easy battery saver and set to super power saving mode. the battery % didn't go down by at least 1% in my 7 hours of sleep and i was just amazed!) may/may not work for you.
:good:

I tried 3 different battery calibration APK, also tried "wipe battery stats" from recovery. None worked for me. Thank you.

Thanks for advices but I'm OK with my battery life. In my cm rom, battery life is better than stock ones. By the way Easy battery saver is really amazing, really saves battery. I used that before but it turns off everything in extreme mod, and I can't get what's up messages or my push mails etc. Anyway, as I said before my problem is not battery drain.
I installed "battery repair (doctor boost)" APK from market. It's a paid one. It seems to solve my problem. Everything looks ok since last night. If not, I will report again tomorrow.

No changes. Still the same problem.

Hi. I searched many forums, read hundreds of posts but still couldn't solve the problem (1st post) . I see many people suffering from same problem but no one has found an answer.
I'm sure that it's about one of zip files which I have flashed in my previous roms and I don't remember.
I'm sure because I had same issue in my previous omega v46 android 4.2 rom. Although I wiped everything and flashed cm 10.2 android 4.3 rom, the problem goes on. Even I bought a new battery but still the same problem. What causes this problem? It's really weird.

Battery drain on reboot.

There is an unbelievable amount of battery drain anytime I reboot my sgs2. This one time it went from 59 to 15 percent. Does anyone have any idea why this happens and how to fix it. Thanks.
Sent from my super powered calculator.
You will notice that the battery will begin to 'increase' (after reboot, from 15% it will start going up if you leave the phone for a little bit) ... Try wiping cache and battery stats...

I've experienced same on several occasions especially on crashes!

Okay. Thanks, I'll try that.

I had same problem recently while experimenting with new ICS roms, but after I flashed ICS Remix 7.1 all problems gone.
Same problem
I have the exact same problem with my sgs2. battery is good before reboot but after a reboot its at 9% this cant be normal.
did you find a solution yet ?

[Q] System Settings->Battery: Only shows 'Android OS'

Hi,
I flashed the latest Wanam ROM and latest Siyah kernel.
Flashed with 3 wipes, I know the drill still have the SGS2.
When I go to 'System Settings -> Battery' it only shows 'Android OS' up time.
The graph seems to be working well but there is no 'Screen time' or any of the apps I used or even "Call", just Android OS.
I tried 'Fix Permission' via recovery but it has no effect.
Looking for a solution.
Thank you.

CWM recovery - advanced - wipe battery stats. Problem solved.
After that i suggest u to discarge the battery till the shut down, charge it continously until 100%, disconnect and reconnect the charger plug until it stops again to charge, wipe again the battery stats and ur battery is calibrated again. Enjoy it.
The stats are wiped whenever the phone reaches 90% charge and have nothing to do with battery calibration. That's an urban legend Google dispelled a long time ago.
Could you try betterbatterystats and see if it can see anything (it partially uses the same stats file)? If so, then the app for reporting is somehow damaged

wipe battery stats from CWM is the only way I found to solve the problem in the battery settings, it happened to me few hrs ago. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32307574&postcount=25609).
About the the fact of battery calibration I do it once per month and I can see the difference in daily battery life, so I'm used to suggest it.
Can pls you post the link of the source where Google explained the uselessness of this action?
Have a nice day

mm well... so why we got that strange issue? should solve it with a full chage so..
I noticed an audio wakelock. Try to adjust the volume for notifications and ringer (just switch it back and forth a couple times). You should notice a decrease in battery usage.
I had a similar issue while using siyah kernel. Battery monitor widget was recording all kinds of nonsense. I put it down to a jelly bean bug but haven't experienced it again since moving back to Perseus. It may be kernel related but I don't really see how. I also did a few other things sich as wiping caches and fixing permissions so I can't really say what fixed it.

Battery problems after fleshing custom rom

Hello. I got a lot of problems with my battery. It was all fine until i rooted and flsahed a custom rom. I flsahed jellybam and wiped cache data battrey stats and everything before. I get a lot of random shut downs and reboots and battery percentage drops. Sometimes its at for example 80% and i don't use it its in my pocket and it just shuts down. Or it sais it has 30% 40% and i receive a call or sms and it gets to 1% and shuts down and when i turn it on it has again 30 40% or slowly gets to that percentage. I tried aokp, jellybam, rainbow rom (something like that) rootbox and tried dorimanx and siyah kernel. Now i went back to stock rom and krenel but the problems are still there. I attached a pic of my batt stats so pls if anyone knows what could be the problem please help.
Edit: i tried calibrating the battery with an app and manualy shutting down the phone charging the phone to 100% and remove the battery a few minutes but that didn't change a thing

Nice picture, where is that? the Alps?
Sorry for the late reply i had some other stuff going around. I tried resetting the fuel gauge chip with extweeks while on siyah kernel and that didn't change anything, i tried a few more roms and kernels but the problem remains. Now i am on resurection remix 4.0.4 rom with flexy kernel and i tried reseting the fuel gauge chip with xxtweeks and again nothing changed. I guess this is a problem with the phone becouse with different roms/kernels the problem is the samo. Lately its getting worse. The phone is on the table with 80% battery and i just hear the low battery sound and when i unlock it its on 12%, and than goes to 5% and lower and shuts down. After restart it has again around the normal 80% for example. Also one day i charged it to 100% and as soon i unpluged the charger it dropped to 0% and shut down. Could it be the battery or is something seriously wrong with the phone? Thx in advance

Could be the battery.
Just try another battery from which you know it is working in your phone, and then try your 'faulty' battery in a phone from which you know it is working. This way you will know at least if it is the phone or the battery.
Thanks for thr replay. I guess i‘ll just buy a new battery and see how that goes because i don't have a spare s2 and battery to try

I've been experiencing the same problem with my SGS2's battery and noticed that it is getting bloated. I purchased a new one to prevent severe damage on my mobile phone.

Battery drains quickly for no reason

Hi, my phone drains within 10 hours on standby. It drains while off as well. It has NOTHING to do with my ROM or kernel because I've used multiple and nothing with my apps or wakelock. I bought a new battery with a bigger capacity but it didn't help. It seems absolutely random and I think the hardware is not working correctly. Any help?

Hi. There could be numerous reasons for this battery drain. Firstly, I would recommend attempting to narrow down the problem somewhat by using many of the available apps that come to mind. Try wakelock detector, better battery stats and cpu spy.
It could also perhaps be the radio of your phone. You could also try switching to 2G only or turning GPS or bluetooth off and see if that helps.
All battery related problems take a bit of patience.

have you resetted the battery stats? Your battery could be at the end of its life aswell, but I can't conclude that for you
If you're rooted uninstall google maps and use greenify for hibernate user apps,
In developer options choose background processes at most 2

Nope, Nothing. Thanks though
It also charges very quickly and somehow loses about 10 percent with the battery REMOVED in 45 min.
I think your battery is not compatible with your device hardware.
Try to use the original manufacturers battery

[q] battery problem

hello guys i have a big problem with my battery and from what I've noticed(not completely sure) it does that when i remove the phone is from the plug.today for example i fully charged it, and when i removed it something probably crashed, the battery was immediately overheated and after half an hour it fell at 60%.i use omega rom v46 and the launcher i use is next launcher( i just refer i don't know if it has anything to do with that).has anyone face this problem with the specific rom and if there is a solution besides going to an older or newer rom. thank you in advance
Lots of battery threads here explain the use of apps like wakelock detecter, gsam battery monitor and better battery stats. You'll need to find out what's happening
