It'll improve battery life a little. But what drain battery is 3G and wifi and the service that prevent your phone to go to deep sleep mode while 3G/wifi is on. You can install CPU spy and wake lock detector to investigate what drain your phone battery and try to stop that service or remove it.

Thanks for ur reply...ok let me try with cpu spy and come back to u....but i have already installed wakelock detector...
I use Greenify to stop services from those apps that I am not currently using. When Greenify hibernates the app, it also hibernates the related service.
I did see a small increase in the amount of deep sleep and a small battery life improvement. Of course, your mileage may vary due to not all services waking the device.

I'm looking for an app that will monitor my battery temperature (sometimes it overheats to 40-45C for no reason) and kill apps when it reaches this temperature. Whenever I notice my battery is hot i use miui long press to kill the apps, and the battery cools down again. Is there an app that can do this?
Currently I use Tasker to turn on auto sync when I am on wifi, and turn if off when wifi is disconnected so if there is an app that can monitor both my wifi and battery temp that would be great. I don't see how I can do this in Tasker
Any suggestinos would be great
Thanks a lot
Hi all,
Is there any app to kill apps that are causing wakelocks above a certain amount of time?
I don't know if you experience this problem, but sometimes whatsapp goes into a wakelock called "fullsync" which basically knackers the battery. If I am lucky, I can detect this early and do a reboot
If I am not lucky, it just eats away the battery, major bummer.
Watchdog doesn't really kill apps if it is not using CPU power isn't it? This whatsapp wake lock doesn't use CPU power, it just sucks battery from nowhere
change Kernel mate.
Gents....
In the quest for battery life and RAM enhancements, and the fact that many applications use wake locks to keep themselves active in the RAM.....is there an easy method to identify which apps contain wake locks ?
I can see active apps easy enough, but does that state simply mean a wake lock is present ??
A little info from a dev or two would be much appreciated.......g

Not sure there's an extra easy way... Nonetheless, check out BetterBatteryStats, if you haven't done so already? It does detect Kernel as well as partial Wakelocks. Here's a link that should help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Wakelocks
Also, if I remember correctly, you can open your favorite terminal emulator and type:
Su
dumpsys power
Your TE should display any at this point, and if your TE has a zero in the last two lines, there shouldn't be anything you need to worry about.
As far as RAM goes, Android has managed it well since Froyo 2.2, so its not really a concern that's worth your time. Nevertheless, I still find myself manually shutting down apps that I don't want held in RAM with SystemPanel or Taskiller anyway, d'oh! It's a bad habit - OCD problem for me, lol.., due to many years with Windows Mobile. Bottom-line is that Android will end idle app - process tasks as needed without our help, lol... and I'm sure you know that too.
In regard to battery life, here with Saurom 7.1, the display, mobile data, cell use, and cell standby, as well as an add-on ProximityScreenOff Pro app, consume the vast majority of the battery juice. That said, if I set wifi to sleep when the display is off and shut down mobile data, the battery life and deep sleep % increases dramatically.
Hope this helps a little...
Best to all,
R

You can check "Wakelock Detector" app which is available in Google Play
It has a simple UI which shows detail list of acquired wakelocks per each application
and as you mentioned, it shows active running apps on the top, which might have wakelock present at the moment.
So this 2 or 3 days I'm getting this kernel wakelock. Device isn't able to enter deep sleep mode and battery is draining fast. Can you tell me what is this wakelock and how to prevent it? See the screenshot.

my xperia z2 is running on android lollipop 5.1.1 w/root+recovery.......i thought upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1.1 will fix it , but i DIDN'T
i use greenify to close all apps in the background but that doesnt help :/
can somebody give me a fix!
thanks
This will depend on how much heavy usage you put on your phone, so for each individual results may vary.
Here are some of my battery saving methods i personally use.
Ampilfy - requires xposed & root
Greenify - on boost mode ( Xposed & Root)
WIFI always scanning in settings is switched off.
Queue Background data is off.
Location off when not in use.
NFC is off.
Auto sync off.
Adaptive Brightness on.
P.S get the better battery stats app, you will be able to monitor whats consuming your battery.
Screenshot shows how much one app like Facebook can be a battery hog.
