[Q] device freeze - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

hello,
my phone (rooted ST15i - GB 2.3.4 - build 4.0.2.A.0.62 generic) sometimes freezes and i have to reset it (take out battery) to start it again.
Is there any log file in the android system or application i can run into to see what is the cause? (i.e. what application is responsible for crashing, event log or something like that)
thanks in advance

Try flashing a custom ROM :good:

Looking for a way to check RAM memory defects

Hello everybody,
I need your knowledge, my question is in the title : I'm looking for a way to check possible RAM memory defect on my Xperia X10.
I sometimes (or often) get errors (application closed unexpectedly with error message) on all my applications (messaging, youtube, update check, alarm, games...), still with an entirely reinstalled software. Sometimes, the phone freezes and restarts.
Sometimes, applications don't start (error), and I need to open something else before retry, and it works (like if I need to use another part of the RAM if i want to launch my application)
It very looks like random errors that we have on a computer with a defective RAM, and maybe the mainboard of my X10 is defective (my X10 is still under warranty) but I would like to be sure.
On computers, it's very simple, you can boot with a "memtest x86" CD and you see if everything is working. On my X10, I'm not sure it is possible !
Can you help me ?
Thanks a lot !

ru using any customised ROMs and Kernels ??
and which ROM ru using??
I'm using the Original and last updated ROM of Sony Ericsson (with no operator customisation and no simlock)
Android 2.3.3
baseband version 2.1.71
Kernel 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537
Buid number 3.0.1.G.0.75
I think there is no software like "memtest86+" for this phone ?
Am I the only one having these errors on my X10 ?

[Q] I installed an APP and now my Phone crashs on Boot, what can i do?

Hey XDA's i have a little Problem,
i installed the Weather APP from the GO Dev Team, everything was fine but then i want to make a Weather Update and the App crashes!
Now everytime i start my Phone, it loads the Weather Widget and Android crashes and reboot again.. how can i delete the App or reinstall it.. or what can i do?
I know a ROM reinstall or factory clean will help but then all my Telefonnumbers and Conacts will be delete!
Phone Details: HTC HD2 with Hyperdroid and CM7 on NAND
You should be careful with the Hd2....ok here's what u can do
Go to setting --applications---manage applications
find the app in the list --- click the app and u will find a clear data and clear cache tab---click both of them
Try the app again and if it reboots then uninstall the app.
Hit the thanks button if I have helped u!!!!
The Problem is that i don't come into Android..
I start the Phone, then the HyperDroid ROM starts from NAND via MAGLDR.. i see the Bootscreen from HyperDroid and then the Phone ask me for my PIN. After i type my code in the phone says directly that "The Weather Widget has a Problem" and the Phone crahes/reboot! :/
I only come into MAGLDR without any Problems!
So is there any way to reinstall or delete it in MAGLDR?
Or gives it a way to come into the Root of the Phone so that i can delete it manuell?
Ah.. i got it..
- I start the Phone
- Press directly the Homebutton after type in the code to make a selection
- Go to SMS.. then back to the normal screen and then to Settings
- Now i have delete everything of GO Weather and the Phone has no Problems anymore!
Thanks for helping!!! ^_^
Anytime!!!

[Q] internal storage : corrupted or writting problem ?

Hi,
I have a problem on my smartphone. (For info, it's a motorola atrix, running a Gingerbread stock version (no rooted, no operator specific version)
The problem is : all modifications done after a specific date (new photos, installed apps, send/received messages, preferences changes) disappear after a reboot. Same thing if I delete photos that were on the phone before that date, they seem to be deleted, but after a reboot they come back.
I tried to format, but nothing happened, the memory used stays the same, format is not done though no error message is thrown
The last test will be a factory reset ...
So I was wondering:
- is my memory storage corrupted ? is there any diagnostic app ?
- or is there any "read only" option in Gingerbread that I didn't notice ?
And jost for knowing, what is happening ? Do all the changes are saved in cache, so after reboot the cache is lost and I get back to the last "persisted" state ? Or is there a reset to the state at the specific date done at each reboot ?
Thanx for your help
Ok, I come back here because i need help with my problem, i don't have any idea ...
1) I have tried a factory reset (both mode, via menu, and external reset) : nothing happens, well it tells me it wipes data, reboot, and everything is like before
2) I tried to root the phone, with :
- Gingerbreak
- SuperOneClick
- Pete's Motorola Root Tools
- Unlock Root
Gingerbreak never ends, last time running but keep as it ... so failed
SuperOneClick and PMRT seem to do something, the phone reboot, but rootchecker tell me i'm not rooted
UnlockRoot i faild making it work
3) I check apps, installed avg (just to try, no more idea) but it saw nothing special ... I uninstalled some apps...
The result is same, after rebooting, all the modifications are lost (installed/removed apps, added/deleted files, system parameters, ...)
The only way I image now is flashing the bootloader & install a new rom ...
BUT it's a system, I should be able to see what is happening, which application is messing it up ? Is there an app that reset the phone state after reboot ? I don't understand ...
An help would be appreciated,
thanx a lot

Stock Messaging App Wont Open and Phone wont Turn on with Micro Sd Inserted

Hey everyone my i9100 has been giving me a lot of issues over the past few months.
It all started in December when my phone shut down when on a call and would not reboot. The phone also would not charge. After using compressed air to blow out the charging port and the battery connection it still would not start. I then removed the memory card and it started. Since then every time I insert a memory card the phone will not boot.
Now fast forward to this morning and I realize that my stock android messaging app is refusing to open with the error code "process com.android.mss has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I tried to clear the cache of both contacts and messaging but this option is greyed out.
I am now trying to find an app that can do a comprehensive backup of my data before I reset the phone.
Can anyone give me some advice as to how to solve these issues on the i9100? Any idea what is the most ideal application to do a complete backup to a PC? Of note is the fact that I have a lot of data in my text messages and in the app note everything. Everything else I can take care of my simply copying and pasting the files to my computer.
I also cannot seem to find where recordings done with the app Voice Recorder found on the site tokasiki are stored on the phone.
The phone is rooted and running stock android 2.3.4 baseband i9100UHKG4
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Backup using Kies.. If u can run apps ur phone, backup everything using the app "super backup" and copy its folder alone into the pc.. It wil hav al the files..
Factory Reset ur phone later.
Upgrade the phone to Official to 4.1.2 JB using odin or upgrade any other Custom ROM and hopefully it wil work.. A friend o mine experienced a similar prob wit the memstick and the update helped. Maybe the ROM in it is corrupted somehow. Hope this helps u! Good luck
Hi dudders007 thanks for your reply I successfully updated to JB using Keis but the messaging app still wont open. This time the message is "Unfortunately messaging has stopped"
What could be the issue?
Probably you updated you phone without wiping. Try to downl from gp app sms backup and try to backup all sms to your gmail account with this app. And after that do a full wipe or factory reset but without wiping yours int memory.
