i cant recover with odin
getting data wipe failed and file missing errors
is there a place to learn about adb
i read i could push the disable voodoo folder i think its my last hope
ill make a custom boot animation to your specs if you can get this phone back up its my girls it just shut down on her at work it was running then pooop!
it would only make it to the dragon kernel splash screen.

this is what i got
Have you tried Heimdall 1.1 It is like Odin and some eho have had this problem found this would work for them
If not maybe try this, but here is the basic way to do what you are asking
You will need the disable voodoo folder, if it is not on your internal sd card
First
1. Download update.zip if you do not have it on the internal sd-card
2. Place the update.zip in tools folder so you can push it into your phone by using adb command
3. Plug usb into the phone and your phone should be on the Android system recovery <2e>
4. Use your volume button to select reinstall package, don't press power button yet.
5. constant "adb push update.zip /sdcard" from computer , you will get permission denied.
6. While you are constantly pushing the adb command from computer. press the power button on the phone so it install update.zip from sdcard.
7. This is the part where it force adb push into sdcard without permission
8. once the update.zip install completed. unplug the usb cable from the phone and take the battery out.
9. put the battery back to the phone then press on both volume button.
10. While holding both volume button , plug in your usb cable and it will boot to download screen.
If you need use Odin to flash your phone to original stock rom.
If this gets you going cool but if you run into problems see below:
If you get black screen with only 4 light on the bottom after flashing from Odin.
Follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728698
There should be T959-PDA.tar,T959-CSC.tar and T959-Phone.tar within the package.
Check "Re-Partition" , "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time" check box. Use the PIT 0512 version. Use "PDA", "PHONE" and "CSC" from the link above.
After flashing with Odin, you will loose the download mode. repeat the first part and you are good to go.
Hope this helps
You can try this.
Download the android sdk
Extract to a place on your desktop
Call it android or something easy to type in.
Put a folder with the disable lagfix folder in it
In command type cd desktop/android/tools
Boot normally
Keep typing adb devices till your phone shows up
Once it does type in
Adb push (file name here)SPACE/sdcard
If it succeeds reboot and it should disable lagfix

I've had the dreaded Data Wiped error before... Well to fix this you might lose all your internal sd card data.
I almost positive this should work:
1. Go here:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/15275-gt-i9000-cyanogenmod-7-we-love-bugs-version-20110205/
and download one of the i9000 .tar files, this will soft brick your phone but restore your data. Then you can odin back to stock here:
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
However, this has worked for me, I don't guarantee the results, but it seems you're already fu*cked so might as well.
If that doesn't work ODIN "Eugene's Froyo that doesn't brick" then when you're in recovery Odin using the link above...
EDIT: The .tar file you need is located in the initial package so you must download that... or you can find any other i9000 .tar file and try that... it should work.
Actually odin uvjfd with pit512 and requisition checked. you will be back to stock. see vibrant bricked under Q&A you will find detail how to restore.

If you can't even get to download mode, I'd love to take a look at it. I offer JTAG debricking as you can see in my signature. You owe me nothing but shipping ($10) if I can't do anything for you.
Check out the link in the signature...
constant adb push ? so keep typing the command over and over?
So after installing miui I noticed my sd card became corrupt. So I reinstalled to Dl09 and re rooted to cyanogenmod 7 test build 10. My phone began starting with the corrupt sd card error mesage in cwm regarding it cant mount cache.
"E:Can't mount /cach/recovery/command"
along with log and last_log.
I look to my sd card but no files or subfolder or folders are on it! I am stuck in a bootloop but can get to download mode. But I think my usb debugging isnt on because odin isn't recognizing my phone. Anyone been having this problem?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124391 should fix all your problems
A fix.
I am all too familiar with this error. Follow these instructions TO THE LETTER.
1. Download: mediafire.com/?6x5utoca59et7o9 (CWM ALL.tar v2.5 red [ODIN flashable]), minus.com/m3yQWm9wg/ (Stock Gingerbread ROM), View attachment cwm4_fixed_for_cm7-BWM.zip (put on your MicroSD card), mediafire.com/?429fcpdtpckkcea (Odin v1.83), and mediafire.com/?r2mi80911vgjjjz (Atlas 2.2 pitfile).
2. Put your phone into download mode and open Odin.
3. Check repartition in Odin.
4. Click PIT and select the Atlas pit file. Click PDA and select the stock ROM.
Click start. (it will take 5 minutes)
5. Boot the phone up, then shut it down.
6. Put it into download mode and open Odin again.
7. Select CWM-ALL.tar with the PDA button and click Start.
8. Three-finger into recovery.
9. Select "chooze zip from SD card" and navigate to cwm4_fixed_for_cm7- BWM.zip. Confirm install.
10. Power off, then install custom ROM of choice.
+++NOTE: When you install a rom, the errors will return if you three-finger into CWM. ALWAYS use the shutdown menu.+++
IMPORTANT: if you want to install Teamhacksung's ICS build PLEASE contact me and I will give you instructions! It is tricky to do and you will probably mess up. This method has NOT been tested with anything besides the above ROM.
P.S: If you're in a hurry, you might be able to flash CWM4 directly through Odin (google the filename for the .tar version), but I never tried this.

Hi, all.
I used Heimdall to flash the kernel as part of rooting my new phone. The messages in the terminal window looked good and I got the blue progress bar. The phone rebooted and I got a yellow warning triangle and everything freezes. I downloaded a kernel image from Samfirmware and now the phone boots without the yellow warning, but no other change. It still gets stuck. Can anyone help or is my phone bricked?
I can boot into download mode and am using a Linux PC.
At the moment, my options seem to be:
1) Use Heimdall to flash something? I have a 400meg download from Samfirmware, but don't know how to flash the files besides zImage, using Heimdall.
2) Get a USB dongle from eBay to reset the page that says I've altered the handset. This means I should be able to take it back to T-Mobile.
3) Go to a Samsung service centre and potentially pay lots of money to have the phone repaired. Anyone know how much this is (in the UK)?
Thanks,
Chris.
Flash a stock rom, den go to the service center and hand over d phone to them! Act like a noob! If they ask u how did it happen, u tel i slept off, then when i got up, and when i tried to switch on the mobile it got stuck! Simple!

Cant you arrange a PC with windows???
As long as you are able to get Download Mod, phone is not bricked...
Using Heimdall. Download the firmware from Samfirmware. Unzip it and you will get to the .tar. Unzip the .tar and you will have all the individual parts to put into Heimdal.

Hi, guys!
Thanks for your help so far.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to a Windows box, apart from work, where I cannot download/ install executables.
I've downloaded the Samfirmware stuff, but just don't know how to get it onto my phone. I used Heimdall to install the kernel zImage, and that got rid of the yellow warning triangle, but still doesn't let my phone boot any further.
My first priority is to get the phone working, my second is to have a rooted phone that I can use better software on.
Thanks,
Chris.
install windows its easy, use odin to flash rom and if all is good try to root an flash any custum kernel u want and zacq8 is right ur not bricked if ur getting download mode......
Hopefully this will help.
Flashing Heimdall Firmware Package with Heimdall Frontend:
As of Heimdall Frontend 1.3 there are now two main ways to flash a ROM from
Heimdall Frontend. The simpler and preferred option is to download a
Heimdall Firmware Package and follow the following steps.
1. Fully charge your device (use the wall charger as it's faster).
2. Open the Heimdall Frontend (heimdall-frontend) executable.
3. From the "Load Package" tab, under the "Heimdall Firmware Package"
section click the "Browse" button.
4. Use the dialogue that appears to navigate to, and select, the Heimdall
firmware package that you wish to flash.
5. You will see progress bars appear as the package is decompressed and
extracted.
When the package has finished being decompressed you should see
information about the particular firmware package that has been
selected.
6. Verify that your device is listed under "Supported Devices". If it's not
then STOP immediately! DO NOT flash this firmware to your device!
Instead search for an appropriate firmware package for your device.
If you believe there is a mistake and your device is actually
supported please get in contact with the firmware developer (not Glass
Echidna!) and ask them to rectify the issue. If the developer provided
a URL you may be able to contact them by pressing the "Homepage" button.
7. If you've verified your device is supported you may continue to press
the "Load / Customise" button.
8. You should now be looking at the "Flash" tab. If not verify that you did
in fact push the "Load / Customise" button.
Generally, you won't NEED or WANT to customise a firmware package! In
which case you can safely move on to step 9.
Nonetheless, the "Flash" tab provides you with a means to customise the
firmware package before flashing it to your device. See "Performing a
Custom Flash with Heimdall Frontend" for more details.
9. Put your Galaxy S device into download mode and plug it in to your PC.
Download mode can be accessed several different ways depending on your
particular device model. If you're unsure how to do this please search
online for the appropriate method.
10. Press the "Start" button.
11. Heimdall Frontend will display the progress and inform you when the
flash is complete.
If something went wrong i.e. your device wasn't detected because it
wasn't in download mode, then the status section will let you know the
cause of the problem.
Performing a Custom Flash with Heimdall Frontend:
This is the advanced means of flashing firmware to your device.
If you're not an advanced user or a developer, in the event that a Heimdall
Firmware Package doesn't exist for the particular firmware (or files) that
you wish to flash, then I strongly recommend you get in touch with developer
of the firmware (or files) and politely ask them to create a Heimdall
Firmware Package for you. In doing so then you don't have to worry about
making mistakes due to inexperience.
If you're looking to customise an existing Heimdall Firmware Package then
follow steps 1-8 of "Flashing Heimdall Firmware Package with Heimdall
Frontend" then start from below with step 5.
1. Fully charge your device (use the wall charger as it's faster).
2. Download a decrypted Samsung Galaxy S ROM or a Heimdall Firmware Package
and extract everything to the one directory.
3. If the ROM is not a Heimdall Firmware Package it may instead be provided
as multiple archives (nested or otherwise), extract them all to the same
location.
NOTE: If you want to use the CSC then extract it last.
3. Open the Heimdall Frontend (heimdall-frontend) executable.
4. Select the "Flash" tab. From the "Flash" tab you're able to completely
customise a flash.
5. Before you can chose which partitions you want to flash with particular
files you MUST first select a PIT file. To do this click the "Browse"
button in the "PIT" section. This will open a dialogue allowing you to
navigate to and select a valid PIT (.pit) file.
If you do not already have a valid PIT file stored on your computer you
can download your device's PIT file from the "Utilities" tab.
6. If a valid PIT file has been selected then "Add" button below the
"Partitions (Files)" list-box will become enabled. Press this button to
add a partition to your flash.
7. When you first add a partition you will see the "Partition Name" and
"Partition ID" be populated with information. Use the "Partition Name"
drop down to select which partition you wish to flash. "Partition ID"
will automatically update and is never directly editable.
8. You must then select a file to flash to the partition that you just
specified using the "Browse" button under the "File / Partition". You
will not be able to flash, create a firmware package or add another
partition until you have selected a file. However, you're still able to
press the "Remove" button if you've decided not to flash the partition
you've just specified.
9. When you've specified a file name then you'll be able to see the updated
information in the partition list to the right. You can select any
partition from this list and customise it as you see fit.
You can also remove a partition from the list by selecting it and
clicking the "Remove" button. Removing a partition from the list doesn't
remove it from your device, it simply means it will not be flashed.
10. Repeat steps 7-9 as often as needed to specify all the partions/files
that you wish to flash.
11. Now you can chose whether you would like to repartition your device as
well as whether you would like to prevent the device rebooting once a
flash has been completed. These options can be enabled or disabled by
toggling the "Repartition" and "No Reboot" check-boxes.
In the general case you will only need to enable repartition if you wish
to change the PIT file on your device. Keep in mind that repartitioning
will wipe your device!
The "No Reboot" option is rarely required. It's mostly in place so you
can manually boot straight into recovery mode after a flash (rather than
booting up normally).
12. If you've added at least one partition to your flash (and selected a
file for that partition) then the "Start" button will be enabled. Press
the "Start" button to begin the flashing process.
You may notice that the "Create Package" tab becomes available at the
whenever the "Start" button becomes available. From this tab you're able
to create a reusable, redistributable Heimdall Firmware Package with the
files and partitions you just selected. See "How to Create a Heimdall
Firmware Package" for details.
13. Heimdall Frontend will display the progress and inform you when the
flash is complete.
If something went wrong i.e. your device wasn't detected because it
wasn't in download mode, then the status section will let you know the
cause of the problem.
Thanks, bored_stupid. Quick reply as I have to go to an Amateur Radio training course in a minute.
I used Heimdall on Linux and flashed the zImage ok, I have not tried the frontend, but do have it installed. Do I run it as root?
Which are the best files to use? What would you recommend? I have seen so many links and downloaded so much stuff, I am confused. My original aim was to run Cyanogenmod, as that works well with my current phone (G1).
I would have thought to just follow the CM wiki [0], but for some reason, my phone isn't liking that file.
It may be easier to post the phone to you and pay you for your time
Cheers,
Chris.
[0] http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II
When I use the Heimdall-Frontend, I select a tar file and I see the decompressing progress bar. As it finishes, the frontend crashes and in the terminal, I can see the error:
'heimdall-frontend: undefined symbol: _ZN9QListData11detach_growEPii'
This doesn't inspire me.
Looks like my broken 'phone may need a paid solution.
:-(
Chris.
Hi, still no luck with my phone.
Do any UK based devs accept SGS2 phones with the yellow warning sign, and access to the download screen, for fix and installation of new ROM, such as CM? I can pay for your time, as long as it's not too much.
Thanks,
Chris.
I'm sure you won't need to do that, don't give up hope .
Considering you can get into download mode, and are able to flash kernels, can you also get into recovery? If you can, you should be able to do what you originally wanted still by simply flashing a kernel which has CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693) booting to CWM recovery, sending a CM9 installation zip over adb (or putting it on a microSD) and installing it from there.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102 for full instructions.
oinkylicious,
Thank you for your encouraging words.
I'm not sure whether I can get into 'Recovery' mode, will need to Google that one.
I have an external SDCard reader, so would rather use that, as I have found adb a bit 'challenging' in the past.
My concern is that no matter which zImage I try to flash, they all fail. This leads me to think it may be related to my Heimdall (downloaded and re-installed several times), or the Debian based OSs that I have tried.
I haven't looked at the links you provided, but I guess I just need one good file to try to flash; I'd welcome alternative approaches, though.
I even considered using a 'borrowed' copy of Windoze (shudder), so I could use Odin.
Thanks,
Chris

You previously said you can successfully flash kernels.
Recovery = Volume up + home + power (from power off).
Wow, major development. I've just booted into Recovery and things look encouraging. It says:
---
CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4
-reboot system now
-install zip from SDcard
-wipe data/ factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced

Does this help at all?
Thanks,

Yeapp thats it. Just download the ROM (.zip file) you want from the android development thread. Put it into your MicroSD card, then go to that CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 screen and pick install ZIP from sd card. Find the .zip file and your phone is back alive! You might wanna do the wipes on the CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 screen after installing the ZIP as well =)

Berk,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm really struggling at the moment (stress from work); would you be able to point me to the file I need? Ideally, I'd like to install a Cyanogenmod one, so I can use the CM Android App to manage my updates. Is it better to go for Stable or CM9?
When you mention 'the wipes', do you mean install the ZIP, then after successful reboot, reboot into Recovery and do the:
-wipe data/ factory reset
-wipe cache partition
?
Thanks for your anticipated patience.

Looks like I have a working 'phone.
I didn't put Gapps on the SDcard, because the guide said 'We recommend to use 20120317.'
It says get the latest version from Rom Manager, but it says I can't do that because I don't have a CM recovery installed! ?
Going to see if I can find the Gapps version quoted and put it on the SDcard.
Thanks,
Chris.
Gapps installed.
Just need to make sure ROM Manager is set-up correctly, but that's slow time.
THE THING IS, MY PHONE IS FIXED.
Thanks to you all.
Chris.
Glad to hear that. Good luck! =)
I want to go back to stock rom. So I downloaded a zip file of the firmware.
Please give me the detailed steps to flash the rom without bricking it. My externel sdcard is unable to mount in CWM.
Any kind of help will be much appreciated.
thank you.
First download and install odin from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738841
1. If it is in zip extract it using 7zip,winrar.....
2. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
3.Shut down your phone than put your device in download mode. To do so, press Vol-Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power (It might not work in first time,so try it three four time before posting again)
Button. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading.
4. You should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
5. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.
6. Dont check any option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default if not than check them).
7. Now click Start.
8. When it's finished, it should say that it's done with a green box and your device should reboot by itself
Good luck:good:
Thanks for your concern but i don't have the .tar file so i'm unable to flash it via ODIN. Can you give me the instruction to flash .zip file through CWM recovery. And what should i do if my external sd is unable to mount?

To flash through CWM you dont need external SD card. You can just copy the file in to Internal SD and flash it.
And for installing stock firmware, you cant just simply do it via CWM, you have to go for Odin only.
For this you need to download your original firmware from sammobile or in xda forums you can find it. Take a research, the above post will help.
Hi community,
I recently got a samsung galaxy s2 i777 at&t , everything was working just fine until i installed oneplus mod!
I dunno that a rom could turn my i777 in a i9100 when I tried to flash any other i777 rom I get the magic message, this it's not a i777 complatible rom use a i9100 one or something like that.
model number
gt i9100
baseband
i777ucmd8
Is that a reason I can't answer phone calls?
BTW my intention is to turn it back to be a i777 model how it is supposed to be
I strongly recommend that you avoid that site. We have had many, many reports of serious issues, and some even catastrophic, on the I777 from flashing things from that site.
The latest stock distribution for this phone is I777UCMD8 (the same as your baseband / modem). I would suggest that you flash the full version of that stock firmware, which you can get from the Download Repository.
After returning the phone to stock, if you want to customize it, I recommend that you stick with firmware that you can obtain on this forum in the development section. If you are interested in customizing the phone, you can root with framaroot using the Aragorn exploit. You can use Mobile Odin free or Mobile Odin Pro to install a custom kernel with custom recovery, and then flash the custom firmware of your choice from your recovery. You should be able to find plenty of information in the forums here.

Never flashed firmware before. Should I go with the "I777UCMD8 Stock Binaries (Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean):" firmware cuz I have that modem already?
You should use the I777UCMD8 firmware because it is the latest version of the operating system available for this phone.
Since you don't have experience flashing, here are detailed instructions.
Download the 7zip file archive and extract the contents. You will have a file ending in .tar.md5. That is the file you will select in the pda slot in Odin.
How to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85. (Recommended for this phone. There is a link in the Download Repository.) It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
11.) When complete, you will get a PASS (or FAIL if unsuccessful).

Nice walkthrough, Now when it PASS and it says REMOVED, what is next?
- unplug the phone?
- Flash a new rom? or will it have new one ready to use?
- will it be rooted already?

Will be stock, just like it came out of the box, only Jelly Bean operating system instead of Ice Cream Sandwich. Not rooted, fully stock.
You can use the phone without further customization, the same way you would if you picked it up new.
If you want to flash custom firmware onto the phone, you will need to root using Framaroot with the Aragorn exploit, which you can find on XDA Developers forums, and then use Mobile Odin free or Mobile Odin Pro to install a custom kernel with Clockwork Mod recovery. Then you can flash the custom firmware of your choice.
If you want to customize and need detailed instructions, I'll be happy to help. However, I am going out of town for a few days. The next time I will be checking the forums is next Monday.
For what it's worth I'll be around and can help if need be.

If you don't get the yellow square, and "Added!!" in the message area, then Odin is not recognizing the phone. This may be because you do not have the Samsung USB driver for Mobile Phones installed on your computer, or it may be because you do not have a good connection between the phone and the PC.
Go to Control Panel | Uninstall or Change a Program (Windows 7 - or similar on other OS) and look to see if you have "SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones" in the list. If not, you need to install it. There is a link to an xdaDevelopers forum thread for the driver in the Download Repository, or you can download it directly from the Samsung site.
If the SAMSUNG USB Driver is already there, you should probably assume that you have a bad cable or bad connection. Try another cable, another port on the PC, especially one connected directly to the mother board if it is a desktop pc. Or even another PC.
In some extreme cases, you might have to uninstall the SAMSUNG USB Driver, reboot the PC, re-install the Driver, and reboot again.

I went through it, I flashed.
All completed (success 1 / failed 0 )
rebooting, I removed the usb cable.
And now it stays with the AT&T logo rolling over and over again, the screens turns off and the the logo again, the screen turns off AT&T logo, etc.
Any issue with that?

Boot into stock recovery and perform a wipe data/factory reset.
To boot recovery: with the phone off, hold down all three buttons vol- vol+ pwr, until the logo screen appears the second time, then release.

Awesome, reset factory worked like charm. It boot and the buttons are fixed
Now, should I be able to install CM 10.1.3 from the scratch? Cuz I got my phone rooted from before this AT&T flash.
I was planning to use this version:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i777&type=stable
with the Gapps:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
But I don't know if I need another CW recovery, or root it again (if I need root I'll look for the info on the forum, I won't keep bothering with this noob questions anymore guys).
EDIT: I've check that my phone is not rooted, I checked downloading the TERMINAL and try it to use the $ su command and it didn't work, so I think it's not rooted.
Which will be the easiest way to root the phone?
from the ones listed on our forum, cuz there are a couple of links not working already.

Root the phone with Framaroot using the Aragorn exploit. You can find it on XDA. Link.
After rooting, use Mobile Odin (Pro from the play store, or the Lite version from the xda thread, Link) to install AJK v4.9 No Swap kernel. See post #5 in this thread for additional instructions.

Just read the post on the #5 of the thread that u sent me but I didn't understand it very well.
Then, after rooting and installing Mobile Odin, you should flash the AJK v4.9 No Swap kernel. Download the CWM flashable .zip file, open it in an archiving program such as 7zip, and extract the boot.img. You can not flash the zip file with mobile odin, so you will need to flash the boot.img, which Mobile Odin will recognize. However, since you are not flashing the support files for the kernel, if you boot into the stock jellybean system at this point, the buttons will not work. So, after flashing the kernel with Mobile Odin, you should boot directly into recovery, and flash the full AJK v4.9 zip file to get the buttons working with the stock firmware. Or you can flash the custom firmware of your choice at this point and skip the above step.

I installed mobile odin ready to flash, got the "AJK v4.9 NoSwap" cuz I have AT&T stock JB
but in the installations instructions they used the CWM to flash the kernel, I think, and I'll be using mobile odin, but reading ur post carefully I don't got what u mean from here "...Download the CWM flashable .zip file, open it in an archiving program such as 7zip, and extract the boot.img. You can not flash the zip file with mobile odin, so you will need to flash the boot.img, which Mobile Odin will recognize. Should I just need to use mobile odin flash the "AJK v4.9 NoSwap" then reboot and boot into CWM recovery to start to install the CM 10.1.3 and then the GAPPs, etc? or am I skipping some important part of the process?
He's saying you need to physically extract the boot.img from the zip file and flash that via Mobile Odin, then immediately reboot recovery and flash the entire zip file. This convoluted method is only because Mobile Odin can't flash zip files, hence the need to flash the boot.img.
I'll be out of town for the coming week, and won't be on the forums much if any. If you have additional questions, Steve can probably help you.

Let me put it in my thoughts if I got the idea.
1- unzip the AJK v4.9 No Swap kernel and flash the boot.img
2- REBOOT the device into recovery mode (vol+ plus vol - plus power)
3- (no clean cache, no factory reset) select an unzip file and pick AGAIN the AJK v4.9 No Swap kernel.zip and flash it again.
4- then? should I reboot and start the clean CM installation? (clean cache, reset factory, select CM 10.1.3, clean cache, gapps, reboot?)

I appreciate every single minute that you took answering my noob questions.
The 4 steps you list are correct, but don't forget to wipe the /system partition before you flash CM. That's a big part of a "clean" flash.
