I have a few voicemail messages from my old phone that I would like to transfer to the G2. Does anyone know where the voicemail messages are stored?
Nevermind. Once a voicemail is saved, a new folder on the internal drive is created called "VVM".

Does anyone know where the stock Messaging app stores the MMS messages at? My phone will no longer recognize an SD card and I'd really love to pull the pictures out of the messaging app onto my computer or something so I can save them when I get a new phone.
Will this have to be done through ADB?
I had all my files backed up onto a hard drive that crashed from my old droid x. I now have a thunderbolt with a new SD card and all that so retrieving old mms messages arent possible. so I was wondering does Verizon/Google (Gmail) have any way to getting some of those back? like a full archive of all the mms messages ive received or am I SOL? hah Thanks
Hey guys,
Basically exactly what the title says. How do I transfer my person data (i.e. text messages, contacts, memos) from a Samsung stock ROM (4.04) to a AOKP/SP ROM? When I've tried with titanium backup it hasn't worked because the apps aren't the same and so don't have compatible data storage systems.
I understand that my contacts can be sychned to my Google account and transferred like that but even so I would still like a more concret way and a way to transfer my other data (texts, call log etc).
Thanks.

For my text messages and call logs I use SMS Backup & Restore and Call Logs Backup & Restore. Both work and are available on the play store for free and I have never had any problems with them. For the contacts I just sync it to my google account, I have found that this is the easiest way to keep track of them.
If you want to use titanium backup to backup your texts and call log, use the option backup data to XML format.
Hi,
I copied all files from my Omate from /dev/sdf via USB, now I want to find my phone numbers and all calendar events, the top directory looks following:
.android_secure
.watchMarket
Alarms
Android
DCIM
Download
FleksyImages
LOST.DIR
Movies
Music
MyFavorite
Notifications
Pictures
Podcasts
Recording
Ringtones
WhatsApp
bluetooth
foursquare
googleota
tencent
I tried grepping whole directory tree for some words that would occur in my calendar notifications and in my contacts, but no success. It means that they are not stored in plaintext (what a pity).
Also I tried this http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-reverb/777208-where-calendar-files-stored.html but really no success.
How do I find those files? And more importantly how do I export them and import them to other phones?
Try Airdroid
Many files like contacts are "hidden" in all Android devices. To get easy access to it, most useful app is Airdroid, imho
Where are deleted sms and mms files stored, even after a reset? I have been trying to reset my phone but no matter what I do I can recover all me deleted messages with GT SMS Recovery. Is there some way I can find out what directories this program is scanning, maybe something like alogcat will tell me what directories are being scanned?
I have already deleted my mmssms.db and anything found that resembles it and cleared my text logs in my mms app. Im just curious where this app keeps pulling up deleted sms messages from.
