ROM with swap internal to external sd card setting? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know of a ROM that has a setting in it to allow the switching / swapping of the internal SD space for the external SD card? Currently on the blaze 4G we have to modify by hand the vold.fstab file but there is suppose to be a rom/s that has this setting in it so the user does not have to modify the files...just a check box in the settings somewhere. I was asked to see if I can find the whereabouts of one by the dev for dirty unicorn on the blaze4g so he can integrate it in the new rom.
Thanks.

procapture external sd storage issue

Is any one else having an issue with the camera app ProCapture not saving to external sd on your note
other cams do save to external sd except for Procapture
I know the devs of the app mention something about some devices having
issues with external memory. Just wanna know if are device is one of them or maybe Im doing it wrong.
I have the paid version and the free and both do the same thing.
...running aospxXx-v.6a
You have to manually change the storage location in the preferences menu. Set to to secondary storage location.

I did change it manually but all it does is create a folder on the internal sd card name external_sd
under prefereces/general/storage location
primary storage= /mnt/emmc/DCIM/Camera
and
secondary storrage= /mnt/emmc/external_sd/DCIM/Camera
it still saving the pictures on the internal sd card, just different folder.
can you confirm this is happening to you or is it actually saving to external sd
I can definitely confirm, mine's saving to ext sd card.
What ROM are you on?
running fj aospxXx.6a
might be the rom.
Its the ROM. Touchwiz ROMs will work , but not aokp, cm9, and aosp(unless there's some trick I don't know about).
I believe you have to swap the mounting points for emmc and sdcard.
I have tried already switching mounting points. same issue
I have tried emailing devs who made the app. no reply from them.
so I guess its the rom...
Fix on next update
FIXED: cm9/aosp roms not saving to external storage
update v1.5.1 for fix

If you want to have a swap file (swap.swp) this could possibly corrupt your fat partition. This is based on my own personal experience of course. I recommend use a swap partition honestly.
Just imagine mounting your sdcard to your computer to transfer files while your phone is still attempting to write to /sdcard/swap.swp. This can theoritically cause problems. And you don't want problems on your sdcard. A seperate partition is the safest way to go. But again... just my opinion.
NB: This mod will only work if the kernel you use has swap support built in !
Note that if you are using a rom based on Cyanogen's kernel it is NOT recommended to use swap at all. It will slow down your phone causing more problems than what it's worth. ('Swap grave' is how he put it.)

Are you sure this is for the internal SD card?

[Q] CM11 Help?

I've got CM11 on my S7-303u.
Seems to work pretty well but I'm running into the problem that made me end up having to put CM on it in the first place since I couldn't reinstall the stock ICS firmware. (I'm still fairly new to Android)
The problem I have is storage. 1 of the storage problems is I want the external 32g sd I have as my primary instead of the 16g internal so I can have more room for the loads of apps I want to put on it again.
With the stock ICS when I switched the primary from internal to external I could still see both with ES file manager but with CM11's KK I can only see both storage cards when the primary is set to internal. The external seems to disappear when I switch primary to external.
The reason I know this is because since I originally couldn't tell which was which, while I had it working right I put zero byte files on each of my storage cards and drives named for where they reside. i.e. '32g-External.nomedia' on the external sdcard.
Is there a way I can fix it so when it's set to external for the primary to show both internal and external?
If not I will see if I can get around it with the 'FolderMount [ROOT]' app by madmack.
The other storage question I have is what is the best app to use for mounting external usb sdcards and usb flash drives that won't interfere with Androids stock configuration on how it accesses it's internal and external cards. Meaning I don't want whatever app I use to give new mounting point names for the int/ext cards.
Can someone give me some insight?

StickMount works. It will mount the USB device. Though I have been having some issues with some mounting and some not. Granted I am running a different device and it may depend on Kernel support. But, you can try it. Then the device should be viewable through file manager.

[Q] LG Realm 4.4.2 - Setting SD Card as Primary Storage?

Hi all,
I just got my hands on a Boost Mobile LG Realm. It turns out this phone only has 1gb of internal storage. I popped in a micro sd thinking it would solve the issue. It turns out that you cannot save apps to the SD card. Shoot, some of my apps don't even have the option of setting the SD card as the primary save location.
I have done some research, but alas I still need some assistance. Can someone tell me how I can use my SD card as my primary storage on Kit Kat 4.4.2? I have discovered that my phone has an emulated external storage so that it stops the SD card from being used as a primary storage.
I have successfully rooted the phone via Towelroot, and I have frozen/uninstalled some bloat ware using Titanium Backup
Edit: I have attached my vold file via dropbox: dropbox com/s/ihpfoo4h79kaphx/vold.fstab?dl=0
Like I said I have done some research and the code in my vold file does not match the ones in the guides.

Your gonna be kinda stuck. While you can move the apps to sdcard with a few tools the app data will still be on the internal storage. There are a few ways to move that also but due to the way sd cards work on Android it kills app performance and may even stop the app from working all together. This is due to android removing all sd card code from stock Android and each OEM has to add it back on their own so coding is different from one device to another.

Thanks for the reply. I understand; I guess I will have to lightly use this.

[Q] Switching SD Card to Internal Storage

Im trying to swap my sd card to be my internal storage. I can't find the vold.fstab file, so I went into the buildprop file. I can't find any lines that pertain to the sd card either. How can I make my sd card my internal storage with these problems? I'm running android 4.4 on a Timmy E88 (sorry, unlocked, offbrand phone) and I'm completely new at this (just rooted my phone earlier today) so please be as specific as possible! Thanks!
