Hi,
I've just ordered a chinese build android OS satnav unit from DHGate.

Anybody have any experience of these units ? Any tips or advice.
(I gave up using my phone 'cos the capacitive screen is unstable when it gets hot - and does often sitting on the dash in warm weather!)

Hi guys, I just bought my G9 101 Turbo 16GB, and every now and again I get a horrible sound crack, it is the sound I want to play, but with a layer or static over the top. If I standby the tablet then bring it back in most cases it goes away. I read that some people have cured this problem by installing different firmware but this has not helped me. Any ideas?
New 4.0.25 firmware solves
Hi
I was thinking of buying a Sony Tablet Z LTE version locked to a major European carrier. Has anyone successfully unlocked theirs from their carrier, and if so, how?
Also I spotted a couple of issues whilst playing with the demo model in the store:
- the battery seemed to be losing charge even though it was displaying the charging icon, whilst only playing video
- the home screen was a little laggy, obvious after it came out of demo mode
- I had trouble dragging icons across the screen - I am not sure if this was the surface coating, the hardware responsiveness or the software?
To be fair the tablet has probably been plugged in and turned on for 6 months continuously, but are these typical behaviours?
Any advice greatly welcomed!

Usually the storefront devices aren't updated to the latest versions. Typically they use the software version that the tablet launched with, so it will be laggy. I can say that with the latest updates most of these flaws, especially touchscreen have been fixed.

Thanks - the apparent battery drain was a little off-putting - is this now fixed?
Also does anyone have any information about carrier unlocks?

The charger provided is a bit on the slow side - normally tablets get 2.1A chargers but Sony provided 1.5A chargers which take quite long to charge - I usually leave my tablet charging overnight. It's possible that if you push the tablet, the tablet could discharge whilst being charged.
As for carrier unlocking, I do not know. I got my tablet from Sony, not from a carrier.

Thanks so much for the feedback. One more question - how is the screen colour - is it realistic or a little over saturated?

I personally really like the screen. Nothing like the screen on the Xperia Z. Good viewing angles and accurate colours. You may find colours becoming quite saturated when looking at images as Bravia Engine saturates the colours to make it look better at the expense of accuracy, but that can be turned off if you so desire.

I used an online company worldgsmcodes took just over a week to get the code to unlock.
Hope this help
Throwing myself out there, hopefully I can get some insight.
I came from a LG220 flip style phone and thought a smartphone would be enjoyable and liberating.
Whoa, I was wrong.
My *cough* smartphone *cough* is running stock and is not rooted. I've been noticing an annoying trend of freezing, home screen back outs, and it is random. I'm at the mercy of this phone.
On a minor note, aren't the three keys under the screen supposed to light up, or was that disabled by BLU?
Are these issues an Android 4.2.2 problem or does it sound like a RMA need? Just bought this thing a few days ago.
Would love any help or suggestions.

Hey all, I decided to rejuvenate this old tablet with a new OS. I followed DJIBE's awesome guide to upgrade to the KatKiss Nougat 7.1. The upgrade worked flawlessly, but now that I'm using my Transformer again, I realized that the right and left outer-most edges are dead to the touch. I turned on the touch-tracking in Developer Tools, and sure enough, there is an inch of screen on both horizontal edges that do not feel touch. Actually, it feels it at the very last pixle column of the screen, but prevents me from doing things like pressing Delete on the keyboard, or clicking the download button in Netflix.
So my big question is this: is this due to the firmware/os upgrade, or is my digitizer going out? The dead touch zones are so symmetrical, that it seems like the touch area was somehow reduced. I downloaded a few touch screen calibration apps, but they were of no help. Is there a way to resize the touch area or modify the kernel or something? I'm a total noob to rooting and messing with these android tablets, but think it's so cool! Any help would be massively appreciated!
Solved
I have determined 2 things:
1 - The dead touch zones are not from the upgrade, but rather my failing digitizer.
2 - The "Zap your screen to life" trick actually does work. I bought a cheap lighter, took the sparker out of it and zapped the zones as best I could. One is completely gone, and the other is greatly diminished. My zapper died, as I think some of the unsuccessful zaps never allowed the current to properly jump. Probably burned out the little coil inside, but I still call this a victory. Tablet is much more useful now, and with the new OS, is like a whole new device. Very happy with it. If you have an old Asus Transformer TF201, I highly recommend the KatKiss 7.1 Nougat upgrade

Dead Touch Zones returned
Well, my celebrations for fixing the dead touch zones were short lived. They came back. I think one is even bigger now. I got another zapper but it doesn't seem to do the trick anymore. I'm on the verge of writing this tablet off. It's not worth buying a new display for as it's slow and the battery doesn't last very long. It seems to have gotten significantly slower since I first installed the rom, but I only installed 2 apps on it: Netflix, and Dead Ahead (a little zombie game). It may the super slow hotel WiFi. I've known slow wifi to slow down devices before. Unfortunately, I don't have faster wifi to test it against at the moment.
Hi at everyone,
it's been a while since i've posted something here but now i need your help.
I just bought a Samsung A7 Lite WIFI/LTE for using it as a tractor tablet, just to run some apps needed for gps tracking. The tablet is charging when the tractor key is on, or the motor is running.
My ambition is to setup the tablet to shutdown when it loses power (key off) and to turn on when it will receive power again (key on). Is it possible without rooting?
My objective is to have the tablet operate seamless with the tractor.
Thank you for the answers
