I have a droid razr that the LCD got cracked on. I recently picked up another razr for 50 bucks on Craigslist. I need to transfer everything off of the old one to the new one. I'm almost positive I had USB debugging turned on as the phone was rooted. What ADB commands can I use to back all of my stuff up? I mainly want my texts and apps. And wallpaper if possible lol.

Why don't you use helium or titanium backup

If the Lcd is cracked you can't see anything or is the digitizer not working etc etc be a little more specific. I'm not that familiar with adb though

This is a tutorial on using ADB through cmd prompt. It's pretty thorough, although you will need to explore your internal/external storage to find the precise locations of the files/folders you want to pull. Then you can push them, or manually move them via explorer to your new phone. Once that is done, find a backup program that rubs you the right way and put it to good use!

Not sure if I'm deleting something I shouldn't but every time I use the P3droid root after about a day I get the error com.motorola.contacts and i can't get into my contacts. Anyone else run into this problem? If so how do I fix it?

Have you frozen or deleted anything? Usually messing with the authenticators does it

I've taken them all off, just not yahoo. No one has had that issue from taking those ones off. Plus I defrost all of them and the issue is still there...

Hey everybody, I'm looking into doing the whole root/rom thing with my Prime. I've done this on a couple of other devices, but the terminology seems to be different on every device family. With the Prime, a lot of the instructions I see involve using ADB to place files on the Prime. What is ADB, and how does it differ from simply using the drag/drop method of USB transfer?
Thanks!

Android debugging its used to push and pull system files which is impossible via usb storage

You don't even need to know anything about adb if you use the Viperboy root kit in the dev section. Just did it an hour ago. Very simple. Just read the directions thoroughly.
Just wondering if someone knew if Facebook home will be available for RAZR or if it will be ported one day?

I highly doubt that it will be available without some assistance. On the flip side thou, I tried Home out on my wife's Galaxy S III and hated it...it takes over your phone and everything is Facebook! It is a little overkill...I dont need to see my friend's kids at swimming lessons when I power on my phone.
Yeah now that you it it that way I agree lol

It takes over your phone with all it's data I would recommend not using it because then Facebook has access to your phone data and that is bad in my eyes

I've been an iOS guys for years and I finally made the switch to android a few weeks ago. It's looking like I'm going to send my new droid off to get JTAG but before I do I need to back everything up. I haven't found a good consensus as to the best method to do this and my biggest concern is my apps and app data. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
Carbon? I think titanium should still work for user apps.

You will receive your phone back with all of your data still on there.

I know this is alittle off topic for xda forums but I'm a noob an I was wondering if someone could help me with titanium. I am currently using the aid version on my s4 and the only down side I have with this phone is that it doesn't have good memory. So I wanted to set up the cloud services for my back ups to save some space but can't figure out how to. Could someone walk me through this.

What I do is set up a schedule (for example backing up new apps and data on a sunday night at 3am, because I know my phone will be plugged in and connected to wifi) and have it automatically sync to box when finished.
Use the "when finished" drop down menu on the schedule set up screen and choose the desired cloud service.
Just remember to turn off the setting to vibrate when finished or you'll be rudely awoken.

Thanks! I don't mean to be a bother but will this work with drive? Also will this also put a back up folder on my phone.

Yep. Drive is an option and a local backup will remain on your device.

So even though I back it up to a cloud it's still gone to take up spa e either way?

You can just delete it once it's backed up though. As far as I know you cannot back up directly to a cloud service.
