Hello everyone
Is their any wonder SONY are going down the Pan? with the awful customer care they offer or should that be don`t
My wife purchased my Xperai z a few weeks ago now,and I am not totally happy with it,but it will do,poor battery, takes ages to charge.
I only wished to ask 2 quite simple questions and Sony .com & Sony Norway+Sony chat help..... all failed to answer the simplest of questions?
IE what is the largest size Micro sd card you can use I have read 32gb and 64 gb? but nothing in the manual or on the sony site(that i could find) I was amazed by the Sony folks lack of knowledge!
I have since read that folk purchased a Class 10 64gb card, only to find it does not work? and sony new this and have had to give refunds.something about they only tested using a class 2 or something????
I am an old guy not a tech wizzard.and if SONY don`t know how am i supposed to
As anyone got a Xperia 4g lte 16 gb Model and if so could someone let me know what is the situation re micro cards.
One final question is the lack of any real explination regarding an MLH Cable or some such thing to connect TVs? does anyone know how they connect to the Tablet? and are they easily available as I can`t find them
many thanks in advance

I hope you are talking about Tablet Z.
The recent LTE firmware update added 64GB support. I found few forum posts talking about the working. I have ordered mine in eBay and waiting for the delivery. Will update you soon.

Thoughts?
It's class 2, I recently bought a 16GB class 4 for £15.99 from mymemory.co.uk (can't post links).
Tested it with h2testw, capacity is real, write speed 4.5MB/s, read 19MB/s.
They have other brand cards aswell, check it out.

I'm seriously thinking about moving from the Tablet S to the Nexus 7. The biggest factor influencing me is the ability to keep my software more up-to-date, both through being in the Nexus family and through a more active development community. Android is developing its software so quickly right now (we just got ICS, and JB is already on several devices), and devices will be falling off the map pretty quickly. Having a Nexus device seems like the best way to protect against this.
I'm a little worried about losing the 2" of screen real estate. While the size and weight of the Tablet S make it a little awkward for reading on a plane, it does make for an outstanding movie player. I do think the IR remote is a very good idea, but the reality is that I almost never use it. Even when I have my tablet in my hand, out of habit, I pick up the remote to change channels or adjust the volume. Losing the SD card concerns me a little too, but the cloud services have come a long way, and I'm not sure it's necessary. What else might I lose if I make the switch?
I think I'm going to pick up a Nexus 7, compare the two for a few days, and make a decision at that point. But I'd love to hear from the community about this as well. Anyone else thinking about making this move? When thoughts have you had about the decision? What factors are influencing your choice to stay or go?
EDIT: stupid auto-correct still doesn't like "tablet"
Yep, I'm planning on making this move. The lack of root and an unlocked bootloader has made the Tablet S really unattractive next to a $200 pure Google tablet that will surely have a large dev community behind it. I don't mind the smaller screen, personally. The only thing I think I'd really miss is the native PS3 controller support, which makes playing emulated games on it an ease.

I'll be moving over from the Sony Tablet S to Nexus 7. I hate this tablet, not many devs have taken it onboard to customize it and hack the device. The Nexus 7 should be alot more dev friendly
I'm also thinking about replacing my Tablet S by a Nexus 7 one...
I've spent a lot of time analyzing the works of great developers in order to find a way to gain root on the Tablet S, trying several exploits, mixing tricks used for other devices in hope of discovering something working and have certainly learned a lot of things by doing that but every game becomes boring if you always lose...
Well, it will be no game at all if the Nexus 7 is built like the Galaxy Nexus phone where "fastboot OEM unlock" is enough to unlock the bootloader but it will make myself spend time using my tablet rather than unsuccessfuly try to root it!
PS
Yes, some people -like me- feel sick holding an unrooted android device in their hands. There is no explanation for this, it 's certainly stupid but that's the way it goes. Must be genetic
I called the Staples down the street from my office today to see if they had any N7s. Rep said they had four that just came off a truck. I went and grabbed one.
I'm just starting to play around with it. My initial reactions are: 1) the build quality feels amazing, and 2) it freaking flies.
Honestly, if I don't find a legitimate deal-breaker, this thing probably has a permanent home.
Another huge perk that I've not seen mentioned yet--while being so basic--is the ability to charge with micro USB. That damn Sony charger really limits how mobile the Tablet S truly is.

Two questions, if you please :
- does the Nexus 7 offer SD card support?
- have you try booting into fastboot mode and try the "fastboot OEM unlock" command (there should be a confirmation box allowing to leave without doing it)?

No SD card support, which is a slight concern. I have a 64 gb card in my Tablet S. Naturally, I chose the 16 over the 8 gb N7. With Google Play, though, I really shouldn't need to much space.
There is a toolkit for unlocking the bootloader, if that's what you're asking. I'll give it a try when I get home tonight. I don't see any options for unlocking directly from fastboot.

Sorry guys, I know this is a bad question but, does the sgs3 have a SD card slot + the 16 or 32 GB? Pretty sure it does but need a quick answer.
I currently own a galaxy nexus an through my gf upgrade, I can. Get the sgs3 for $100. Long story short, she was unhappy with her 4g incredible an is out of the 14 day return an she doesn't want to exchange it with anything else because the other phones are too big. But Verizon would cut us a deal on the 16 GB. That's not enough but if I can add more storage via a SD slot, then I'll go through.

Just to amend what ClubDownforce said, it supports microsdxc, up to 64gb max. You could top out at 80gb of storage on a 16gb model, and 128gb total on a 64gb model if you wait for those to be released.

Just a gimmick really especially with the price of paper for the machine but its free ! A 32GB will be available but they are only selling the 16GB first for some reason.
I agree.
The problem is that after math you'll end up with 9 usable gigs only which too small relatively to the image sizes you would take, not mentioning the size of the current games and navigation softwares. We'll end up transferring the media to the computer

Actually Samsung makes some of the better cards. I would also recommend Kingston and Corsair for a SDCard because they make the best computer memory.
One company I would avoid is Patriot. Their stuff is slow and buggy with craptacular tech support.
What's a good company to buy from so I don't get another fake?

If the card is cheap, then it is probably a fake.
Instead of 64GB, there are only 8GB
Even if my computer reads it as 64gigs I never had that much on it though because my pictures would start becoming corrupted and any music stored on it wouldn't play back. I'll just have to wait till I get back to work and buy a 32 gig Samsung pro or something similar at best buy.

Hope not. Samsung original and my sgs1 says 64 GByte.
And works fine and quick.
The 32GByte, also samsung, works fine too and all card-readers can read/write on it.
If sgs1 is conneted to pc the 64 GByte card can be used.
I buy new from amazon.com (*not* from a reseller), free 2-day shipping with Prime & a solid return policy. I generally buy Sandisk cards, haven't had any issues yet.
