[NEED DEVS] Lib2Ext - New App2sd Script

Hi guys, my father has a Milestone 1 and the dev there has included a new app2sd script on his CM ROM.
I've been using it for quite sometime and it's AWESOME!
It's nice and clean and I haven't found any bugs yet.
The source for this script is here: https://gist.github.com/1244362
Since I'm no dev, I have no idea how to use it on P500. It would be nice to see one of our devs making a flashable zip for us.
This is the ROM using the script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941346&page=679

You know by any chance if the script has the bootloop problem ungaze and darktremor scripts have? You know what i'm talking about...
And thanks for taking interest into that matter. I and Miasmic were pointing it out for some time. Now that CM7 is almost bugless, that would be the only problem left for our device, a stable a2sd script. If only some dev would take interest in it...

Yeah, I know about these problems, that's why I don't use Darktremor or Ungaze anymore.
This script on Milestone (a very low memory device) is working perfectly.
It made the phone actually a lot faster.
I hope one of the devs see this.
Change post name. Add NEED DEV DESPERATELY or smth like that
And 2 other ways to use a2sd (maybe those could work too on O1).

I did not use it. Doesn't it give bootloops if too many apps are installed and moved to sd ext? If you use it try and stress it to its max and report back. Maybe it works, although it doubt it.
Have you tried using mount2sd on OpT yet? The second link option
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Someone had solved it.It is dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip.It working fine!

I always use Link2SD and no boot loops for me for about 9 month.

It`s not about the time, but the amount of apps moved to sd. For example ungaze lets you move max 2GB (the size of sd ext) but i could only move about 1.2 or 1.3 GB of apps before getting bootloops. Also darktremor only lets you move about 2/3 of the space available on sd ext before getting bootloops.
So please test if link2sd and other apps solved this so we can use that stable one instead of bootloops ones.
It seems the problem is solved with Mount2sd app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387
"For some reason, the CM Team has come up with this fun idea to place the dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache with the rest of it. This is especially fun when you have a cache size of 5mb, because then there is not enough space to build the dalvik-cache and you end up with these really funny reboot loops. However, if you are some boring person that does not find these reboot loop's fun, you can enable cmdalvik to fix this problem. It will force the dalvik-cache in /cache to be placed in the correct /data path among the rest of the dex files."

[ROM] Slim ROM based on v0.3

Hi !
New Slim ROM based on badadroid v0.3 and I9000 Slim ROM.
Huge thanks to the badadroid project !
Download link
Is included : HoloLaunche, Light PlayStore...
Tons of useless thing are removed. ROM takes only 85Mb !
Espicially for gamers I made a little trick. I've removed notification bar, multitask manager (long press on home) and "push" notification,
to save some RAM.
Now you can get about 150Mb of free RAM on 250Mb RAM kernel !!
It saves some screen space too.
Download link
Links for different types of screen :
LCD type 2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40320073&postcount=2056
LCD type 3 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40295662&postcount=1994
Tested on S8530. But should work on both S8530 and S8500.
Just flash .zip file in recovery. I advice you to wipe data before flashing.
Known Bug : Can't change Ringtones, so no ringtones. I forgot to change build.prop... I'm too lazy to reupload.
So unzip ROM, open build.prop with NotePad++ (google it) and change lines 50-51-52 by :
Code:
ro.config.ringtone=Aquila.ogg
ro.config.notification_sound=DontPanic.ogg
ro.config.alarm_alert=Cesium.ogg
Zip ROM again and flash. Should work. At least phone will ring but you won't be able to change ringtones.

hey man i hope its 88mb FREE rom not TOTAL ??
edit:- sorry i misread it...... i thought its ram..... so how much is the ram?
any feature working? change log? will try soon,.. thanks :good:
How much has the RAM؟
It's ROM size which is 88MB
Max I ever had is 150Mb RAM ! But I disable lots of hidden process with System Tuner
No real "changelog" since it is just a SLIM ROM. I made a mix between original ROM and SLIM I9000.

No it won't work on S8530. Maybe on S8500.
What I meant before is that I can get 150MB of free RAM with some tricks. But usually I have 100MB. So I won something like 50Mb of RAM if you compare with original badadroid one.

[Q] Dynamic BoardConfig.mk System Image size?

Hi all,
In BoardConfig.mk, there's an option to specify a systemimage size. What is the purpose of this? Is there some way to just make it dynamic based on the required size (and plus maybe a little extra)?
Thanks!

Hello
CM11 has a kernel that works a little differently compared to others (ICS/JB): The "virtual memory" (swap space) created by your app is stored in a file in the SD card.
The new CM11 kernel has not allowed to use files as virtual memory (it's unstable and dangerous).
If you insist and want to swap memory, creates the virtual memory space on a partition of the SD card (a little complicated), or use loop files (not recommended, unstable & dangerous).
Anyway, not sure if the program you are using will allow you to do that.
Thanks alot for the information.

And why would you need a special rom for that?
Link2SD works perfect on our phone.
Didn't test Folder Mount, but i'm quite sure it will work, too.
And there are lots of tutorials how to disable/freeze/uninstall unwanted apps.
All you need is root.
All you need to do is read!
There are enough threads about it.

Thanks for the feedback.
What's the difference between ext2 and ext4? I've read that ext4 isn't good for the SD card life. Is it true?
There's no "gaming rom" but you can look for someone to port slimkat rom, this rom is slim, fast, perfect for games (this is my opinion )
Moving the data files from the game with different xposed modules, swap ram, cleaning cache or other stuff can also help a lot if you're to play games.
