Hi guys, my father has a Milestone 1 and the dev there has included a new app2sd script on his CM ROM.
I've been using it for quite sometime and it's AWESOME!
It's nice and clean and I haven't found any bugs yet.
The source for this script is here: https://gist.github.com/1244362
Since I'm no dev, I have no idea how to use it on P500. It would be nice to see one of our devs making a flashable zip for us.
This is the ROM using the script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941346&page=679

You know by any chance if the script has the bootloop problem ungaze and darktremor scripts have? You know what i'm talking about...
And thanks for taking interest into that matter. I and Miasmic were pointing it out for some time. Now that CM7 is almost bugless, that would be the only problem left for our device, a stable a2sd script. If only some dev would take interest in it...

Yeah, I know about these problems, that's why I don't use Darktremor or Ungaze anymore.
This script on Milestone (a very low memory device) is working perfectly.
It made the phone actually a lot faster.
I hope one of the devs see this.
Change post name. Add NEED DEV DESPERATELY or smth like that
And 2 other ways to use a2sd (maybe those could work too on O1).

I did not use it. Doesn't it give bootloops if too many apps are installed and moved to sd ext? If you use it try and stress it to its max and report back. Maybe it works, although it doubt it.
Have you tried using mount2sd on OpT yet? The second link option

Someone had solved it.It is dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip.It working fine!

I always use Link2SD and no boot loops for me for about 9 month.

It`s not about the time, but the amount of apps moved to sd. For example ungaze lets you move max 2GB (the size of sd ext) but i could only move about 1.2 or 1.3 GB of apps before getting bootloops. Also darktremor only lets you move about 2/3 of the space available on sd ext before getting bootloops.
So please test if link2sd and other apps solved this so we can use that stable one instead of bootloops ones.
It seems the problem is solved with Mount2sd app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387
"For some reason, the CM Team has come up with this fun idea to place the dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache with the rest of it. This is especially fun when you have a cache size of 5mb, because then there is not enough space to build the dalvik-cache and you end up with these really funny reboot loops. However, if you are some boring person that does not find these reboot loop's fun, you can enable cmdalvik to fix this problem. It will force the dalvik-cache in /cache to be placed in the correct /data path among the rest of the dex files."

And why would you need a special rom for that?
Link2SD works perfect on our phone.
Didn't test Folder Mount, but i'm quite sure it will work, too.
And there are lots of tutorials how to disable/freeze/uninstall unwanted apps.
All you need is root.
All you need to do is read!
There are enough threads about it.

Thanks for the feedback.
What's the difference between ext2 and ext4? I've read that ext4 isn't good for the SD card life. Is it true?
There's no "gaming rom" but you can look for someone to port slimkat rom, this rom is slim, fast, perfect for games (this is my opinion )
Moving the data files from the game with different xposed modules, swap ram, cleaning cache or other stuff can also help a lot if you're to play games.

Official builds are made by CM Team.
Edit:The only way to update this rom is to download the new rom and flash it with cwm.
Edit2: Usually there are official builds only for most popular (flagship) devices.

Internal Memory
Sorry, didnt notice the FAQ section.
So yea, i have 1gb+ internal memory out of 5gb+
And yes, wiping data does not remove any personal stuff.
The thing is, its empty and yet shows this much space.

Since you are talking about a total of 5gb I guess you are talking about what is classed as the emulated internal SD card. Like mentioned above, when wiping before flashing the ROM this partition is not affected at all as the ROM is installed in root and not the emulated storage. So any files you had there prior to flashing the new ROM will still be there.
If you deleted everything on the 5gb partition from a PC, then there is the possibility that if these were placed in the recycle bin and therefore not actually remove but kept for possible recovery (taking up storage space). I don't know if that is the problem in your case but since it has happened to me once in the past I wanted to share my thoughts.

Hey Maniakk you mentioned that after changing from interactive your battery got drained, did you managed to charge your phone? mine did the same and it looks like its dead wont turn on.
ok managed to fix it had to short out the legs with a screwdriver, before that i charged it for like 45mins and nothing happened battery was cold as ice.
Did anyone face this bug,
1) Call someone
2) Press the dialer to send dial tones over to the receiver
The dialer will not come out fully. Only has the 1 2 3 buttons visible.
Sometimes pressing back and dialer, may not work.
Side note: To fix the problem with the dialer not appearing when you want to make a call...
Problem: Press phone icon, press the dialer button. You will NOT see the dialer
Solution: Press back button and dialer again and you will see the dialer
'Permanent solution': Ensure your animator duration scale is at least 0.5 under development settings.
In a way, when you mentioned emulated.
I checked under clockworkmod folder and saw my previous backup more than 4gb lol.
Now I've gained the missing space.
Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
I've used the ROM for 1 whole day now and cant find any problem. Just that I'm using dalvik instead or art, since I can't install a few apps with art.

as i say you can try 1GB and swap 128..or other values that you see its working..video is generic, should work with other sizes, but at least 1GB i think you are fine.
ok will try it. Now i need to clean sdcard and repartition it.
Did you (or anyon eother, but noone is talking here) tried something like link2sd? It will probably try to use "cache" partition as its, so its pretty unusefull i think (?)

SO after 15 minutes if use (and additional 15 minutes to ler it do the magic in the begginingI i see that automatic brigteness doesnt work and flashlight breaks everything - i mean screen gots dark and i cant do nothing except take out battery
EDIT: U said that this 1.5 gb is for cache, however i see that its used as internal storage (so its data), that mean that it can be how i think: internal memory is split for system and cache and data partition is moved to sdcard?
smokerman i belive you should move your Thread to Q&A or Troubleshooting as we are not the REAL DEVS of this ROM.. its Mike and he will eventually Create new threads for cm12 here.. lets give him this space... in the Dev thread.. i also for the same reason didnt create the thread here.. i hope you understand my point.. we dont want to tick him off do we.. lol
the rom at this point its enough for daily usage..when mike wants to take over or create a new thread i will close this one and put a link to his thread..for now its just to have all users in the same space as your q&a thread was created on early buildings..alpha..this now is like BETA stage..from my tests its a decent rom in this stage..i will try to fix touchpads if i can and if have time..nowadays i dont use xperia play anymore..im developing for other devices and this days xperia play unfortunely is more than outdated..i find myself struggling to get something more of this amazing device..i wish SONY could make a xperia play 2..but that is another thing..and people dont sign my petition , dont know why..almost a year and only 50 signatures..xperia play users are a bit ungrateful with developers..i know that now..thats why many developers leave from here and now its finally my turn to say goodbye..now and then i will be here to see my threads but anytime soon this subforum maybe will go to low legacy devices.

Certainly not... Kernels are never versatile. Also, the lag isn't necessarily associated to the kernel.
