I am facing a weird problem with my atrix.... 1 week ago battery was jumping from 100% to 77% then to 44% and suddenly turned off.
I tried to calibrate battery by charging to 4200mv and different tutorials to calibrate battery, I even tried to change the battery and with new battery it suddenly shutdown. It has been tested with different roms but the problem still exists. I am also attaching a screen shot where it is showing "Charging Control Unavailable". Can any one please advise....

So you didn't read the battery fix app thread? Not available in all ROMs. Maybe the battery is near the end of its life, it is a 2 1/2 yr old device...

as palmbeach05 stated, not all roms support that option. And I agree with him, this is probably due to the battery reaching it's EOL

No matter what I do, my battery won't report as 100% the highest it got was 49% but battery callibration reported 4200mv. I tried callibrating and wiping battery stats and nothing worked.

Same problem but at least mine gets up to 67%. MV drops the moment it's unplugged though.
I've also tried shutting down, pulling battery, waiting until "?", then popping it back in. Only seems to fix it once.
Thoughts? Does the V6 hardcore battery calibration fix this?
If it's any help to you, this is common issue. I have 3 Atrix's and they all charged and drained normally out of the box. This might be due to the 10% increments? I'm not sure exactly what step caused it, because I've flashed multiple ROM's on all three and various theme's, hacks, etc. Eventually they all stopped getting to 100%. They all will get to 4200mv and battery usage doesn't seem to be affected, but they all top out between 75%-95%.
I've tried all the calibrations methods mentioned on xda numerous times, and all devices. None of them worked past a single charge and then back to % inaccuracies.
Just something I've had to learn to ignore. If you do come across a working solution, I'm sure a lot of people would love to hear it.

My atrix has been on 1% for the last like 7 hours. So something is going on behind the scenes.

Wow, that's even worse than mine. I can routinely get 1-2 hours on 1%, but that's it.
Hello,
So my problem is that the battery is charging & discharging very fast. Charging takes about 1.5 hour from ~0% to 100%, so 1%=1min. It isn't normal, I've had this problems some times. For the last time I'm charging it every time I can, so I don't care if the battery is low. You think this is the reason. I've already did the calibration but didn't help. For now my only idea is to charge it only when the battery is almost empty. Did You had such a problem already? How did You solve it?
PS. Happens on every ROM now
I had that exact problem with my g/f's x10i. Normally it was because of an app that was misbehaving and I'd just uninstall it. Just check ur battery info and see what the culprit is. Ideally you should have like screen as top process, cell standby and phone idle most likely following (in general that is). I still hav some problems from time to time but worst case the battery gives me a full day. You can also wipe battery stats in recovery and try the "manual recalibration" that is letting it un completely down (not even vibrating when you try to power on) and then charge to full, then repeat. Did wonders for me on the x10i and my xperia play. Really hope this helps man, I know how frustrating it can be.
Hit thanks if I helped!!
Just read that it happens on every rom. Battery may be bad but still try the battery wipe from xrec and charge with it off. Calibration never hurts. GL
Jakuburban, have you checked if there is not any software causing memory or CPU huge consumption present? Remember we have solved it in your another thread... but to ensure for it
Also, there might be two another problems:
1.) battery lost its capacity rapidly (might cause after e.g. 2 years of huge usage)
2.) hardware issue - there might be present "parasitive resistance" somewhere on the battery pads or on PCB traces. Which can drain battery everytime.
No, none of the programs is battery unfriendly. It's not gettong hot and the screen usage is on the top as You say.
@HeliumX10 I remember that problem but it's different now. CPU usage is allright. It's just charging and discharging to fast. E.G. my brothers SGS2 is charging about 4 hours to full and he can use it all day long. My battery is charging in less than 2 hours and I can only use it for 1/2 of a day. It's like it is charging only half of the battery ( capacity) and it shows that it is full.

I ended up buying 2 extra batteries and an external charger off of Amazon for $12. I never plug it in.

Having issues with roms lately. Some roms won't even give me 2 hours of battery life. (Maybe 4 hours even in standby!!)
Talked to Motorola over the phone they think maybe it's the battery, they sent me a free one but I still have the same issues.
Sometimes I look at my phone and it has already been drained. Then I see that standby has taken up 75% of the battery. Like wtf lol.
So the question is, what is the best ROM for battery life?
Thanks.
Neutrino v2.9
Make sure you install bluesleep fix if the rom you are using doesn't have it....
For me the best results have: "old" ALIEN and CM7 !!!
CM7 - 1day and 27minutes with 7hours and 28minutes screen on (30-35% luminoziti)
Sorry for english!
Atrix - "CM7"
Seeing as it happens with every ROM, you may try to calibrate your battery, it may help. Download 'Battery Calibration' app from the Play Store and follow the in-app instructions. I always calibrate mine after changing ROMs exactly because problems like yours happened to me in the past.

That app does not calibrate the battery. All it does reset the previous battery usage graphic table.

But it helps. If I don't do it, after 2~3 flashes of different ROMs I start to have huge drops (staying at ~80% for 6 hours, then instantly dropping to 20%) or the system misreads the actual battery capacity (turning off with at least 30% battery remaining, for example).
Have you tried wiping battery stats?...
Charge the phone as far as it will go (lets say over night)(also if you need to plug the phone into the charger after it has charged over night without the battery in it so you get he battery with a question mark, then put the battery in and it should show like 5% battery or something then let that charge as long as it will, which is usually around 15% if i remember correctly), then wipe battery stats in cwm or whatever way you prefer. Reboot the phone and use it until it is completely dead (0% battery and the phone shuts itself off and wont turn back on, but do not try to drain the battery using video loops or anything, just use it like you normally do. Then charge it up to 100% but do not turn it on, let it stay on the charging screen until it gets to 100% and dont use or unplug it at all. It should take longer to get from 99% to 100%, just be patient Hopefully that solves the issue.
Hey guys,
I have had my Galaxy S2 for over a year now. I have not always had great battery life but I blame that on my providers ****ty 3G connection.
My longest battery life I had on Hydra h2o ICS rom and that was about 2 days with 2.5h screen time. Those were the good old days.
Now I'm on Vanilla RB with the DorimanX kernel and am getting a little concerned if my battery could be failing me.
I have tried for some time now to get stable, good battery life on the JB ROMs and it doesn't seem to be working. This is my case:
I charge my phone at night and use it over the day. The past weeks my phone has really been heating up and the battery is draining to near-zero levels within 2 hours of screentime. For instance I was playing a game the other day for about an hour on and off and lost 70% of my battery. The thing is that when the battery drains this quickly it always seems to slowly increase as the day goes by and if this happens, the phone can hang for an hour or two on the last 2%.
This I find really strange and have tried numerous times recalibrating the battery and doing cycles and everything I have thought of. I don't have any strange wakelocks that can explain this drainage.
For instance my phone completely died on me this morning after rebooting it at 50% and it booted up with 1% left. I then took the battery out and waited a couple of minutes. In the process I checked the battery out and it smelled strange. I also thought i noticed a slight bulge on one of the flat sides of it. When I popped it back in and booted my phone it was at 13% and slowly increased to 22% before starting to discharge again.
What I'm wondering is if my battery is broken and I should buy a new one of eBay?
edit: Right now I was charging it and rebooted. It went from 22% to 63%. Isn't this just a bit strange?
If you detect a slight bugle one side of the battery.
It means it is time to change the battery before it burst.
The battery is not hold a proper charge or discharge it properly, itr could be one of the filaments maybe damaged in the bulging area.
Okay, is there any aftermarket battery that is better than the stock Samsung one?
I also have the same problem after flashing on stock ROM. Solved with app "battery repair". Honestly it was not original (replacement) battery, but it still works well.

I presume you've done a battery calibration in between roms

Yes, multiple calibration attempts.
But it's the bulge on the battery that has me concerned. It´s even ath the point where my back cover can't hold back anymore and sometimes comes loose where the battery is bulging.
One thing I'm noticing is that in AnTuTu Tester it shows the battery at higher voltages than the 3.7V on the back of the battery. So far I've noticed this go as high as 4.2V.
Is this something that is not ok? If not, could it be my phone or my battery's fault.
edit: 3.2V now during testing...
edit2: went all the way down to 2.7V during the testing (about an hour passed) and I experienced heavy screen flickering at around 22% left of battery and then the phone just shut down. Battery temp was at 39° right before shutdown.
Just recieved a new 1650 mAh battery today in the mail. Gonna give it a few cycles and post the results here.

It's works for me, but not a panacea for all problems.
My sgs2 GT-I9100 got a new battery because the original one got swollowen , but now it also has problems occurred Recently,
Phone flickers and goes completely off at 40%-50% ,
Wont turn on again unless i plug it in but then it shows 0%,
Happens all the time,
So I restarted the phone at 50% to see SUPRISE then it shows less than 5% battery !
But after 50% its sure phone will go off any sec.
Is there a fix other than going to another new battery again? Tried the Battery Calibration app By a XDA member too...
UPDATE: Got anew battery ( 2nd battery purchase within a month) but it seems to be the problem continues..
Used the battery with the charge it came with... 60% browsed the web...... reached 35%...... Turned off again
Thinking that it happens because of a miscalibration so used the above mentioned app and calibrated at 100% drained till 40% ( light gaming) Went off again....:crying:
Please Help this is urgent!!!!!:fingers-crossed:
UPDATE 1
Did a Reset of the device and charged it fully with the brand new battery (left for couple of hrs after 100%) and I eventually drained it to 50% and did a restart I was left with 10% after.... didn't fixed
I'll try my best to help. Had this problem with an old laptop battery. I just looked a bit around and found that there are several apps that show you the real mAh. SInce I haven't tested of them I won't recommend any.
Are your contacs all clean? Can you measure the output of the battery with a voltage meter?
EDIT: Found this a few posts lower " just reset the fuel gauge chip (rooted) and you are good to go!"
Update flashed a stock jellybean rom lets see what happens
