Seidio spring Belt Holster for naked device - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I never like using cases as it defeats the purpose of the manufacturer to have a device thin and light..However I need something to carry the device around.
I have tested ( for other devices) many and the one that seems to be very classy and good is seidio spring case.
http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-spring-clip-holster-black-p/hlssgt3as.htm
Hope this helps somebody
Update : Here are some pics of the case.. Been using it for the past few weeks. Really love. The device is very stable inside and does not fall off.

I agree. The seidio spring clip holster is what I get for each phone I purchase and I plan to get it for me note 3. Great product

Finally!
Thank you for this. I am buying one of those right away. The only issue I have remaining is, is this phone too big to not just put into your pocket? I guess I am going to find out...

Nerd alert?
Whh not just put it in a fanny pack, maybe bright green so you won't lose it. You could also store your Bluetooth headset in there when you aren't using that.

Updated first post with some pics.

The phone (naked) will also fit in the holster that the surface case uses, albeit somewhat loose. (slight rattle)
I would be concerned about the contact points scratching or wearing down the finish, etc.
For those going commando, it's a good deal.

Some of the phones that I had before was loose with surface holster that I have dropped them.

I'm using the Seidio spring belt holster from my Note II.
It holds well enough that it won't fall out.

What, are you kidding me?!? That's crazy!!
First off, I didn't even think Seidio made a belt clip for the naked Note 2! I searched and searched for it when I got the Note 2. I could never find it on Seidio's site, or any other site for that matter. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I found out that Seidio WAS going to release their belt clip for the naked Note 3! I bought it immediately after finding out about it!!
Secondly, I would have never guessed that the naked Note 3 would fit in a Seidio belt clip manufactured for a naked Note 2. While they are similar in size, the Note 3 will NOT fit in to a Note 2 case. I wouldn't think that a stellar company like Seidio would release a Note 2 belt clip that's loose enough to allow the Note 3 to fit in! Would you please post pics, from various angles, of the your Note 3 installed in a Note 2 belt clip?? Did you order this belt clip directly from Seidio, or are you absolutely positive that the belt clip you have IS a real Seidio product?
I am NOT trying to be rude in any way whatsoever, so please don't take it that way! This is just very interesting info to me! I'm shocked to find out that the product I searched for months to find, and never could, was apparently right under my nose the entire time! It's not just shocking to me though, it's also VERY frustrating because I would have loved to have a Seidio holster for my naked Note 2!!!

I didn't say NAKED note 2 belt clip holster. The Note 2 holster had some basic cover with a kickstand or something that slid together. It wasn't very big and I didn't like it. I ended up using a Samsung slip cover (which with the Note 2, also fit that belt clip holster). That's the belt clip I had. When I sold the Note 2 and the Seidio cover, I inadvertently didn't include the holster. It fits the Note 3 naked "enough" that it won't fall out. It's not a perfect fit for sure.
Don't add words to what I wrote.

Hi, can you please tell me if you can use the S-View case with the Seidio spring belt holster? Thank you in advance for your time and patience! Happy Holidays!

Nope.
Tied it in a store and does not fit. The naked device fits so well that there is no room for anything more....

Thank you for the answer. Do you think the S-View case will fit in the Seidio Surface holster case? Cheers!

I think it should. It may even be loose. I dont have it to try

Well you didn't say it was a Surface, Active, or Convert holster, so one would assume it was for a naked device.
Wait, now after reading your latest post, I'm confused. You said in the previous post that it was a Seidio holster, but now you're saying that it isn't even a Seidio holster, and just some cheapo that happened to work with a Seidio case!?!?
SwiftKey'ed from my White Sprint Note 3 via XDA Premium

It was a seidio case. For the note 2. It had a slip type cover that snapped together. (Top and bottom half).
It holds a naked note 3. I couldnt tell u which one at this point because the note 2 is long since sold.
Go find one and try it. Its not fitted but it works.

Best thin case?

As much as I love how sturdy the otterbox commuter is, it really does add some girth to the rezound. Occasionally I would like to have the protection of a case without the bulk.
Any recommendations out there?
Sent from my HTC Rezound
Good title for post. I'm looking for the exact same thing. I haven't bought any cases yet.
Guess the ideal case functionality wise is thinnest possible, max protection, good quality material, solid but easy to remove if you have to pull the battery, reasonable price and has a KICK STAND!!!
Been searching but nothing AFAIK. So currently my phone is naked in it's original birthday suit. I do have a leather belt case to carry it though; but would love the extra protection in case of drops and kickstand for setting it on table.
No love for rezound... accessories are so slow to come out or are out of stock (eg. case with kickstand... htcpedia.com/htc-rezound-hard-shell-kickstand-case.html.
Anyone ever get this case? Has it ever been in stock? And is it good? Otherwise I won't wait for this case and move on.
I've actually gone through 3 cases and I ended up going back to the Commuter. I bought the Incipio and Body Glove... both had their pluses/minuses but the Commuter ended up having the nicest feel (despite the slight extra thickness)
Seidio active is pretty sweet but I wouldn't call it thin. I'm not a case guy but have realized if I'm going to use one, it better work. I've yet to see a thin case that gives me the confidence that this one does.

Have you tried the "High Gloss Silicone Cover" that they sell at the Verizon store? I was very skeptical about it when I saw it in the store, but since there weren't many choices at the time, I tested it out and was pleasantly surprised.
It's smooth on the outside, yet gives you enough grip that the phone will not slip out of your hands. It also fits the phone VERY snug.
I got one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TQRLQG/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details
it fits great and the textured sides gives allows extra grip to the phone.
Case-mate's barely there cases are very minimalistic. http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Rezound-Cases/Case-Mate-HTC-Rezound-Barely-There-Cases.asp

It's funny that you mention that case as I just ordered it yesterday on Amazon. I am not normally a fan of cheap cases, but the reviews were not bad, and for 5 dollars shipped may as well try it out.
Casemate "barely there" cases are pretty nice.

For me, the whole point of having a case is to have my device protected. So, if I have a little more bulk as the price, i do not mind. I have seen so many people complain (not here) about a case being ugly or too bulky, and then they drop their phone and break it to pieces.
Which is better? Keepin yuor phone pretty and having to spend another $500 dollars on a replacement the third time you drop it, or just et a good case.
A thin case is no good for me. I commute in a subway and walk everywhere. I have dropped my Rez several times, and am so happy to have a Diztronic tpu case for the extended battery and a Otterbox Commuter for the stock battery.
i wouldn't trust a thin plastic case for anything.

I would recommend the cm barely there case if it were under 10 bucks. Had one on the thunderbolt and it actually saved the phone many times from 4 foot drops. Only got a few tiny nicks on the top edges of the phone oh and a slight crack on the case itself. About 2mm long. Screen on the tb still looks perfect even after 3 drops to the face. I do have a cheap screen protector installed on it though

+1 for Case-Mate Barely There. Totally minimalistic and yet provides just enough protection.
I have an Otterbox Commuter (quite bulky) as well as the Ditztronic case (terrible btw) and wanted a case with a fairly thin profile but good finish.
I had a Seidio Surface case for my Incredible and loved it so I decided to pick one up for the Rezound. I am impressed and in love with this case. It adds very little bulk while covering everything. The soft touch material provides a nice grip and is comfortable. I HIGHLY suggest this case.

anyone found a rezound case with a kickstand? i have seen a few for other phones, but nothing for the rezound
i currently use the Otterbox Defender series case which has saved my phone countless times. I work in retail so i can be doing anything from ringing someone at a register to throwing freight from trucks, to using heavy power lifting equipment and this case has protected is very well. it is extremely bulky about 2-2.5 times the size of the rezound, though the extended battery still fits in it.

I believe verizon sells a case/holster combo that comes with a built in kickstand for $30. Doesnt seem bad at all. Check out fleabay or amazon. im sure you can find one there for less than half the price.

[REVIEW] Otterbox Commuter Case (w/ Screen Protector) for Galaxy Note

Before I begin...
Otterbox is renowned for their premiere armor-like phone cases. I have owned many phones and two of which I put Otterbox phone cases on. Outside of Otterbox cases, I have tried countless cases at a variety of prices and quality. Some cases are pretty good, but none have the same appeal, protection, and reputation that Otterbox does. Upon unboxing the Otterbox commuter case, I discovered both international and US versions of the phone screen protectors. And, in the photos I have uploaded, you'll see that I actually have the international Note screen protector instead of the US version. I'll explain later...
Both Otterbox cases I have owned (Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy Note) are very similar to each other. Even though my Atrix had a Defender case and the Note now has the Commuter case, both actually give the same feeling of protectiveness, look, and feel. When I first put the Defender case on my Atrix, I immediately knew that Otterbox will be the case for all my phones in the future. Otterbox makes a plethora of cases for many makes and models of cellular phones, so I knew that we would eventually get these bad boys. I received mine yesterday and immediately ditched my previous case for the only case my Note will have protect it again.
Also... In my opinion, Otterbox cases speak for themselves and don't need actual reviews, just someone saying, "Go buy it now. You won't regret it."
The Look...
One word to describe this case would be: Armor. The way this case looks with the polygonal insets to connect the soft silicon to the hard shell casing gives it a great look. There are slotted cross dashes on the back of the case with Otterbox's logo near the bottom. The classic sloped front fit around the screen is also present with this Otterbox case. Everything about this case is sleek, stylish, and protective. Great looking case.
Defects? What defects... There were no defects present on this case, nor were there on my first Otterbox case. I expect this type of quality from Otterbox. If anyone has experienced defects with their Otterbox case, please comment and give some insight on the customer service portion of the Otterbox company.
The Fit...
Putting this case on the phone was more trouble than I thought it would be, but I welcomed it, since every other case I had up to now had yet to give me the right fit I was looking for. After about 30 seconds of initial fitting, the case is on and the fit is amazing. The tightness of the fitting of this case is great. It gives a great secure feeling to the phone that no other case has provided.
The power buttons and volume buttons are covered by solid elevated silicone, which provides just enough resistance to where it wont accidentally be activated by walking or bumping into things from within the pocket of your pants. The 3.5mm and phone charger inputs are covered by silicone flaps that are inset into the case. Both inputs are large enough to provide the physical connections with the cords without being obstructed by the case. The spen opening is generous and allows for easy removal. The speaker has an opening through the case as well.
The protection...
Apart from the protection that the case itself provides, Otterbox provides a screen protector (for both versions of the note) as well. Pretty straight forward screen protector, two films surrounding the outer and inner surfaces of the protector. It comes with a small microfiber wiping cloth and the squeegee for those pesky air bubbles. I started with the US version of the screen protectors (duh) but for some reason, i got dust on the protector itself and it was just a mess from the beginning, so I went ahead and put the international one on. The only difference between the two protectors is the cutout on the bottom of the international one. Looks a little odd, but it works.
Conclusion...
My overall experience with Otterbox has been great. Both cases I have owned have been of the utmost quality. No other case provides me with the look, the feel, and the protection that Otterbox has given me with their cases. I am very pleased with this case and highly recommend it to anyone.
not to point fingers.... but do you work for otterbox? Just never seen someone go through so much effort on a review as far as the layout goes, if you dont work for them i think the effort is awesome.
No I don't work for otterbox... but I may have put more effort into this than I think was needed, lol

Can you take pictures of the empty case next to the note so we can see how much bulk it adds?
How sticky is it when you pull it out of your pocket?
What is the responsiveness related to the cover and the s-pen?

Ill see what I can do about the pictures. As far as the stickiness of the case... its actually pretty smooth. Comes out of the pocket pretty easily. The spen has great responsiveness to the screen with the screen protector on. No difference as far as I can tell with the screen protector.

I had an Otterbox Commuter on my late Dell Streak and it was really good but a little bulky. And it didn't have a cradle! On my Note I have Seidio Active with a kickstand and cradle, and I should say it's more elegant and compact with same level of protection. Just my two cents...

Nice review.
When the case is on, do you find any added resistance when putting the phone in or taking it out of your pocket? Thanks.

I just bought this case a few days ago. All i can say that it is a very sturdy and rugged case. I would have opt of the defender for about $15 more but they did not have it in stock so I got the commuter.
Overall a solid case. Definitely recommend

Honestly the three cents is inconsequential. It could have been a couple dollars more and I still would have gotten it simply because the seller is SpigenSGP (who also happen to make the best crystal clear screen protectors I've ever used), and they have a 100% seller rating.
Nice review. Any problems with dust particles on the silicon portion of the case when pulling the Note out of a pocket? With other cases that has been my experience and the look of the case decreases due to it.

you get some dust but for me it was on the outside of the case. I got my commuter off amazon for half price! I dont think it makes it bulky like the other Otter box case but it makes it have a good feel in the hand. without it the phones feels slippery.

My past otterbox, I cut the film off and just used a different screen protector for that same reason (dust particles). Tough to do to a $60 dollar case.
May have to pull the trigger and get one of these and take a little grief from the wife. I will defend my purchase by saying, "I dont want to crack the screen again like with my Note 2" (sad day).

Yeah I ordered one online for like 42 bucks after the returning customer discount honestly the otterbox felt like it was made out of cheap plastic all the way around it just felt ... well honestly it felt like junk I felt like if I dropped it the thing would just explode into a billion little small parts. The plastic wasnt very hard and would bend under small amounts of pressure the plastic cover felt like a super cheap cover that would be used for a display plastic on a toy box.
I am waiting to get my ballistic case before I review it but from what I have seen from all my past cases from them it will be a much better case. They tend to use hard plastic and gel outside covers for impact. I use to throw around my samsung infuse in its ballistic case just for fun never once did my phone get screwed up it still looks new and the case never opened. Hell half the time I had to just about break the case to open it XD!
I actually really like my Defender case. Granted, I have not dropped this beast, but the case (to me anyway) feels like it could take a pretty hard hit.
Is there a belt clip like others? I couldnt tell what that other piece looked like

Nope, sadly no belt clip. The other piece functions as a multi-angle viewing stand.
Well that sucks

A little bit. Overall though it's a solid case and I'm really happy with it. I'm accustomed to using the bodyglove cases so this thing is like a godsend, lol.

The ballistic maxx has a belt clip
Here is the ballistic maxx case.
I think the case is nice its not as nice as the first ballistic case I got in the sense that the one I had before this was all in one but the case itself feels REALLY durable not cheap by any means its a super snug fit I can barely pull it apart when I am trying... As for the case itself it feels like there is a lot more protection to it than the otter case when I felt them side by side.
The case also comes with a limited lifetime warranty so thats nice they will replace it if a part breaks for free. Also my ballistic case was cheaper than the otter by almost 20 bucks. I got mine for 42 bucks plus free shipping but I also got a ten percent discount being a returning customer its normally 49.99 or something like that will free shipping. Great case if you ask me
Ill check it out. Does the clip feel pretty durable?

Yeah the clip feels like I could hang from it LOL Its rather strong I have never had the clips from my cases break on me when I get ballistic cases at most the turning part of it gets lose but never has it broke on me the only part that has manage to break on me was the clip that holds the phone into the belt clip and thats was because I leaned over my truck bed and put all my weight on it. But they replaced the broken part for free all you do is send them a picture of it via email and they ship it the next day.
Edit: The clip does turn full 360 btw and it has little notches every small turn so you can set it to the angle you want and it will hold it. Doesnt spin around free and what not only after HEAVY use does it losen up and spin easyish I know my old clip use to spin a bit but thats because it was on my hip every day all day and moving around so much it use to move around after a while it losen the clip but it still managed to sit the way I wanted it to with no trouble just had a bit of play.

I've got one on order and am hoping for the best.

Thanks, for the price, it's worth a try. Since I've had my wireless charging cover, I've been without a case.

I've been using my Spigen slim armor case, but it developed the crack around the volume up button that so many others complain about. I had to use a dremel tool to grind down the thickness of the inside of the rubber sleeve to make it fit, but it cracked the hard case after a couple of weeks. Did the same thing to a neo hybrid I'm using now, but it doesn't fit quite right.

Yea, I think I'm gonna try and modify the case I was using before the wireless cover. I tried the Qi receiver that fit inside the factory door, but I didn't like the way it bowed the cover around the camera opening. ....something has to work
I purchased the spigen case I can not include a link since I'm new here but if you type "Spigen Slim Armor Case for Galaxy Note 3" into the search bar on amazon it will come up. I did have to modify it though. I cut the middle part out of the inner rubber piece. when the case is on the phone it is not noticable since it doesn't show. I just cut around the edge so that the back cover could push through the opening making the case fit perfectly to my phone with the bulkier back cover.

I purchased that case specifically to cover with the oem wireless charging back and can confirm that it fits snug but with Zero issues thus far the only case that I have found that does ....TGIF:good:
I know for certain that the UAG case for the Note 3 fits, but does "pull back" a little at the top (above the speaker) and bottom (below the home button). http://www.amazon.com/URBAN-ARMOR-GEAR-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00F8JEWT8
I am also going to try a bumper. (I have a metal one on order but it's coming from China so it's probably still another week out at least.
You would think Samsung would address this, but I haven't seen anything from them on this.

How much of a "flap" did you leave at the top and bottom? Or did you cut exactly where the hard part of the case is?

How much does it pull back? Just doesn't quite cover the lip, or would it affect the headset or charger plug? If you shaved down the inside of the case a little, do you think it would fit better?

If I had to guess I would say 1/8 of an inch. It goes unnoticed and still protects the phone. I actually just ordered the samsung wireless charging s-view case off of amazon. I didn't order it before because I didn't like how it flapped around freely, but now that spigen came out with the magnet clip for it I'm giving it a try.
I have purchased a LoveMei Aliumimum Bumper case (2 piece none screws)
Fits with official wireless back cover. Tempered glass makes it a tight fit.

The tech 21 and the diztronic work great with the oem wireless cover, I prefer the tech 21 case over the diztronic.

I tried a mumbi tpu case and it sort of fits. For 7 euros, I was willing to try but I can't get over how much bigger it makes the phone. It's like a brick. Still looking for a case that protects, fits the wireless back, but doesn't add huge amounts of bulk. I'll probably order a diztronic or a tech21 case to just see if it works. Might even look at that otterbox defender even though it doesn't quite fit around the lip. This is just shameful of Samsung to do this without building a case that would go around it. That small amount of bulge is costing angst over cases for us owners but I love the wireless charging. Sigh. Guess you can't have it all. LOL.

Two stores I've been to that had the Otterbox on the shelf and let me try it on my phone with the wireless back cover. It didn't fit either time.

Fark! Thanks for the heads up. It would have been bad to drop 40 to 50 euros on something that doesn't fit. :good:

Otterbox Defender for Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

I'm considering getting one. Anyone else?
http://www.otterbox.com/Defender-Se...Galaxy-Note-Pro-12.2/77-42603,default,pd.html
Wow that's about the cost of a 3 year squaretrade warranty with accidental coverage ($125 with a 35% off coupon code floating around).
My recommendation - go for the i-Blason
Hi
It looks amazing but if you are looking for something less expensive, I would recommend the "i-Blason Armored Dual Layer Hybrid Full-body Protective Cover with Kickstand and Impact Resistant Bumpers".
(search on Amazon)
amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IT3UBX6
That's what I got and it was a great choice!
It's an high quality product and gives you the same protection that you are looking for...
regards
Ray
I have one on my iPad. I have been waiting for them to come out with one for the Note, but the price is very off-putting. $99 is pretty much my limit.
The Otterbox is $120.00. The i-Blason is $49.95 and it looks very close to the Otterbox. This One is $14.95 and is the exact same thing as the i-Blason. I've ordered one - I'll let you know how good it is when I get it.
Just don't expect the same specs in terms of impact resistance as an Otterbox when buying a cheaper variant.
I'm debating getting the Otterbox. My past experiences with their products are excellent, and this thing feels quite fragile. It does look massive, though...

I have the iblason one. It was well worth the investment.
I'm sure the otterbox may be a bit better, but I'd rather have the iblason+square trade warranty for about the same price of just the otterbox.

Just got the $15 I-Blason version. Overall the case is very similar to my otterbox's with one exception.
The I-Blason doesn't come with the built-in screen protector like otterbox's do. I like the otterbox's screen protector because it doesn't actually adhere to the screen. Oh well it was worth the try.
This case

Is about the same as the I-blason. It has good reviews too and is also cheaper.

Oh don't get me wrong, just because I have a squaretrade warranty doesn't mean my tablet is unprotected. I'm on my second note pro, the first was crushed in a hundred pieces (don't ask). Day 1 of the second note pro consisted of taking it out of the box, installing a tempered glass screen protector and slipping it into a folio case (belkin) before registering it with squaretrade. If I'm stupid enough to make the same mistake twice i'll do my best to scoop up the pieces and file a claim lol.
I'm not against the otterbox, I think their cases are fantastic and I wouldn't mind having one. Certainly the way to go when you need something rugged, but $120 is kind of pricey. I hope they bring the price down to below $100 on that thing before it ships. Hard to believe that it should cost that much.
Just ordered the Note 12.2 defender case from otterbox. I'll post a short review in a couple of days after receiving the case.
I just got the gumdrop hideaway case from amazon. Its just like the otterbox case with screen protector. And u can even use it without the screen. Protector if u don't like it plus has a stand built right in.I have had otterbox and like them but 120 is nuts.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IVEHYRE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.Its 69.00 now but I got it when it was 42.00.Its great a little heavy with the bulk but not bad.

Just got the Otterbox Defender case for my Note Pro 12.2, with a bonus dry box case. For $119.95 i expected an extremely impact resistant case. Needless to say, Otterbox did a masterful job.

The case is made up of 4 pieces. 3 high impact plastic parts and 1 very thick and heavy rubber sleeve. Once fully assembled, your note 12.2 is transformed into a most impressive road warrior.
Snapping the first 2 parts that compose the inner is case easy, just line up the ports and press down firmly until all the locking tabs engage. The screen protector rests about 1-2 millimeters above the screen, makes swipe gestures and screen taps easily, with no trampoline effect.
After that, grab that thick rubber sleeve and wrap it around your Note Pro, until all the ports are sealed up nice and tight.
Then place it securely in the outer case/stand and your done.
Hey there! Thank you for the review and pics!
I noticed on the otterbox page it lists this case being for the note pro 12.2 and the tab pro 12.2
I'm trying to figure out how it can work for both tablets when only 1 has spen.
My question is... can you access the spen from the case? It looks like it is accessible from the rubber part of the case but that the final piece snapped on covers it?
And, what the heck? People who buy it for a tab 2 just have an extra hole with no purpose but it's ok because the last piece covers it anyway?
I can't quite tell from the pics and info is very scarce on these! Best buy has it listed on their page but sold out online for $109 however it only lists it as being for the tab pro 12.2.
Strange indeed.
Once you place the note in the outer case/stand, you can NOT access the s-pen. I would assume otterbox would omit the spen access port on the tab pro but i cant say for sure. In the second part of this review, i will go over some more features and specs. For instance, there are several useful positions you can use. The manual shows most of them.
Be aware that once fully assembled the defender case effectively triples the overall weight to over 1500g or 3.2 pounds. Its heavy but feels supremely secure.
Here are the most useful landscape positions. Perfect for lap use, Extremely stable. The are 2 portrait positions as well. The wedge effect otterbox uses to secure your note in the stand is very effective. I never felt as if the entire setup would tip over and fall. And if it falls, so what. The complete package feels like it could survive a fall down a mountain lol.
The hinge otterbox uses is very sturdy plastic and folds flat when not in use, allowing you to place your note pro in the case, face up or down. And yes the defender case increases the thickness to about 1 1/4 inches.
