DON'T INSTALL SetCPU!! - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

As the title says, don't do it.
I did it, and limited the cpu to 300mhz while the screen was off, then it didn't charge out of the blue.
Restarted it, boot loops.
Now I'm repairing through Companion, and that's a PITA, since I will lose every single thing I had on internal memory.:crying::crying:
quick edit: phone doesn't turn on at all, even after repairing it. I don't know what to do.

you need to do a full repair. return to stock. Perhaps even flash the .510 FTF...
- I use setCPU, and give max at 2000 (only 150mhz below max) and works fine. Max temp is now 78 degrees... before it was high 80's...

I actually set it to 300mhz just for the screen off...
Tried to repair it through PC Companion, Sony Bridge, and finally used SUS.
The process goes on smoothly, until i unplug the phone and it keeps boot looping.
By the way, the loop shows the Sony logo, sometimes it briefly fashes the same logo on the top or bottom of the screen, sometimes it flashes just a dotted line, sometimes the logo fades away.
I'm contacting the repair centre once it's open.
I thought Sony devices were almost unbrickable, well I guess i found a fu#%ing way to brick it.
An what if I had unlocked the bootloader? In this state you can't even relock it I guess.
I'm so pissed off right now.

I honestly could have done that, but I didn't have the right ftf (they all were for 6802 and the ones for the 6833 were offline), and I actually went for warranty for the back cover that was lifting on the lower right corner too...

I'm advising none.
This device doesn't need an extended battery life.
You always get more than one day even with extensive use...
Don't mess with CPU settings, wait for a dedicated kernel with dedicated settings.

Dear Togari Owners,
On my Xperia Z(yuga), from completely bricked phone, I can flash kernel with recovery via fastboot. When you have recovery, you can flash rom like CM, via adb sideload. In this situation you can copy any important files to your PC easily. - Recover bricked phone and needed files from internal storage. After that you can flash back stock rom via flashtool.
My question: Can you do the same steps on your Xperia Z Ultra?
Always have backup. Xperia Z Alonzo 2.1

I don't understand how you address your post to "Honami lovers" and in the end ask a question about the Z Ultra (Togari)...
Anyway, I'm guess you could flash via flashtool and restore the device, but I didn't have the time and I had another hardware related problem anyway.
Oh and by the way, all the aforementioned steps you described are only possible with an unlocked bootloader, which I didn't have at the time.

Also, forget my 2000years old research, cause your bootloader is locked

SetCPU can be installed and work just fine, only thing is to know how to use it. This is unfair to troll about this app that work well, it give bad image for the dev and the true problem do not come from the app but from the user.
And with any app modifying CPU freq and voltage there is one almighty rule "while testing never enable set on boot" or you need to have an unlocked bootloader and adb experience for can safely remove the app and its settings without having to wipe and flash and in some case need to flash the boot.img.

Xperia S keeps freezing

It's been happening for a few days, and I know it's not that bigger deal but it's bugging the crap out of me.
Almost Every time I go on a app the dam phone freezes, could be just for a few seconds or for 10 mins, and if it freezes for a long time I have to reboot it by holding the volume buttons and power buttons.
I've deleted all my apps and reinstalled them but keeps happening.
Anyone come across this and found a solution?

Mine reboots all the time, no matter what I do, even while in a call! It's really annoying! It happens from the beginning, since then I've changed all the firmwares available, rooted with stock kernels, now I'm on 76 with Doomlord's advanced stock kernel

I've had the same problems to be honest. From when I got this phone(first week of release in UK) until about 3 weeks back, I had no problems at all. But since then I've found it lags really bad on certain apps and a lot of the time it crashes so I have to do manual reboot.
Mine is on FW .67 with no custom roms and not rooted. But apparently the .75 update is available for UK generic now so hopefully, these problems will be solved.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago then i send my phone in sony service center. They have fully reinstalled the phone software and now the problem is gone. You can do the reinstalling by yourself, u just have to use flashtool and choose one of these ftf's http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/STOCK+ROMS
Updates and repairing from SEUS and PC Companion won't help. Fully reinstalling the software is the only option. You can stay calm because the problem is software, SONY are awared of it and i am sure the ICS will solve it. Enjoy your phone.
I assume by doing that by yourself you would be invalidating your warranty?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
if it is Kaputt u take it to the shop and demand new unit!
remember to take receipt with yall.
Usually, if it is a bug or software related problem, they will only flush it and reinstall the program... normally, only hardware related problem is being replaced with new unit... but of course, it will still depend on the technician that is going to verify your problem... those technicians who wants easy job, will replace your unit regardless of your complaint...
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
@iainbp Are you still experiencing the same problem? Even though you said to me that even after updated to .75, your device was still the same. I updated 4 days ago and I'm having no problems with lag or freezing at all. Only lag I have seen was due to an app rather than the FW. So, as others have said, either send it to Sony so they can reinstall, or do the easier option and simply flash it

[Q] Dead Active

Hey, everyone.
I'm trying to fix my brother's Active and not having much luck. I've been doing intermediate level android stuff since the HD2, so I'm not quite a rookie at troubleshooting. He said that he was at school, checked his texts, then the screen went out. So, that's where I'm at. I can't even really tell if it's a software error or a hardware error. The phone turns on, vibrates and the LED lights and that's about it.
Thanks for any help
Looks like it's bricked... but I'm not expert enough to say that for sure.

If you had unlocked bootloader: Flashtool
If you had locked bootloader: Update Service and try repairing the firmware.
Both ways, you lose your data.
try to repair it via SEUS or pc companion or otherwise send it in to repair

The phone does absolutely nothing except vibrate a tiny bit when you turn it on. So the most frustrating part, to me, is I can't really tell if it's a hardware error or software. I'm leaning toward software because even after I let it boot for a long time, I can't get the screen or any of the buttons to cause a vibration. BUT I also don't know if my brother had it set to vibrate on the lock screen like I always do.
From messing around with Flashtool I found out the bootloader is unlocked, but nothing custom has been done to it.

Hmm I think you can open your phone (DON'T DO IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH HARDWARE) and take the LCD screen and take it to nearest service shop to check whether it's working or not...and other possibility that your phone screen cannot be turn on is the screen power might got shot and burnt (like black out in a house, the power supply is shot )

My SGS II I9100 DEAD

Hi everybody, this issue may sound repeated, but I hope i can find a solution.
I flashed my SGS2 w/odin from JB came to flash ICS official
the flashing process was completed and started in the bootanimation, but my mistake was when removing the battery very quickly before I could start all the phone when I reboot in the download mode and flash the root and try turn on, oh my surprise.
The phone didn't turn on, it's not charging and the download or recovery doesnt work.
the jig does not work
but I sent the phone to a technician to see if I can revive by JTAG.
Now my questions:
What are the chances I have to get my phone?
Do you knkow of a store where i can buy sells PCBA for i9100?
Why was I so stupid in taking out the battery so quickly?
If technician you send your phone to JTAG very much good he fixes it super good. JTAG salvage can very good strong brick even worry no need don't to! If you send good technican phone to then JTAG successful, it will be. Then you have phone will you back run working oh very excellent surviving, oh happy day.
