link to X2-Eclipse-v2.1.zip
you need to sbf to 2.3.4, then install 2.3.5/1.3.412 leaked update, before installing this eclipse version

[Q] Going from StreakDroid 1.7 to Stock 2.2

Just wondering if this is possible, I read that someone was on 8105 build and got the OTA update. I have upgraded to 1.7.0 but having issues and wanted to go to the offical 2.2. Can I just downgrade to 8105 and get the OTA. Does that work? Or is there a STOCK 2.2 rom i can install?
There's a thread on this already somewhere with all the instructions and links to download the official rom. I wish i knew the exact topic so I can link you to it.... goodluck!

I went from DJ_Steve's 1.70 straight to Stock 2.2 with no issues. I flashed the 309 stock Dell recovery via Fastboot and used the stock 318 Dell update package. Google these terms in XDA and you'll find the downloads and more detailed instructions
When I was on StreakDroid 1.6.1, I wanted to go back and compare to stock 2.2, so this is what I did:
QDL Tool to get back to build 305. Download 318 package, click on it. Done.

Kernel Upgrading

Alright so I'm completely new to all the droid rooting and what not and I've been wanting to upgrade the eclipse v .7 ROM to the latest version which require you to upgrade the kernel from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. So my problem I have no clue what so ever on how to upgrade the kernel. I've read a few posts on upgrading but they just don't seem to make sense to me.

2.3.4 SBF
How-to SBF
The How-to SBF I linked you to is a very simple one to follow. MN-Shadow done a great job with his but may be overwhelming for someone with little to no knowledge of what they're doing.
Keep this REF Thread bookmarked. Booked does a nice job of keeping it updated. A lot can be found in many of those links if one takes the time to read through some of them.
So first I would upgrade the kernel and then flash the 1.3 eclipse mod?

"Notes:
You must be on the latest 2.3.4 build prior to flashing this due to no kernel being included"
That quote is from the Eclipse 1.3 thread in the very first post, or OP...
So first you sbf, then after its on 2.3.4, root it with Pete's one click root. Then install the bsr (our hacked up clockwork mod) and flash eclipse with it.

The only way to upgrade kernel for x2 is via sbf or OTA.
follow the links xodus provides and u will be just fine....don't be afraid...its not as it looks
just be sure to do exactly what the how to tells ya to ...be thorough
...
You defintely want to upgrade to 2.3.4....this was the best thing that ever happened to my X2....I was only days away from giving up on this phone when the leak hit,now Im loving it......
I would also suggest making a stock nano backup of your stock rom for 2.3.4 it might save you from another sbf if things go wrong. Then you can restore your stock back up instead of doing a sbf. Just a thought.
There was even a unreleased 2.3.5 update, and ROM's are most likely heading in that direction very soon. Nitro, who created the Eclipse ROM, asked his followers on Twitter if they would like to see a release on 2.3.5.

[GSM] BR/LATAM Razr 2.3.6 help needed !

It looks to me like the main reason I can't get bluetooth working on the BR/Rodgers/LATAM Razr on all the new GSM ICS variants is because there is no updated (2.3.6) kernel for it.
Can anyone help in what may be able to be modified in the ICS roms so that the BT doesn't cause reboots/crashes ? Or is anyone aware of a 2.3.6 rom/kernel to get it compatible ?
I'm just a noob, so maybe I am totally wrong here ?

Thanks for the tip, but that still does not work. I have tried 2 that i have come across. The reason being I believe is that the nandroid still does not change the kernel. Are you aware of one that works? That why i posted, so someone could point me in the right direction if they have had success.

I am on that rom now, and have been several times.
Here is the kernel version: 2.6.35.7-g3798510
The kernel does not change, and you found out as well.
As far as moving to general: This is really an issue that would help move along development by enabling those with BR/LATAM devices to work with the newer roms. Thats why I posted here.
I get your point and is some how logical. I wonder if we could flash the kernel separately.. is still the same device just different signature
Lets hope a dev comes to the rescue

Unfortunately it looks like we are at the mercy of Motorola to release a 2.3.6 update for the BR. I was hoping a dev could shed some light on the possibility of replacing the ICS rom's bluetooth portion with one from 2.3.5 to stop the crash or get it useable.

I don't believe in 2.3.6 to my br razr no more.I see Q1 ending in 2 weeks, and the ICS rollout is going to happen in Q2 according to moto announcement. For the sake of my update i hope they skip this 2.3.6 and go right to the point giving us 4.0! (Or we will see 2.3.6 while the rest of the world gets they ICS and then, my friend, we are really screwed).

By the end of Q2, they mean?
So hold on a second, there's a way to go from Brazilian ROM to the en.eu stock ROM and then onto the en.eu leaked ICS build? And the only problem is that bluetooth doesn't work in ICS? Does it work if you flash the Gingerbread en.eu build?
How's the switch to en.eu ROM is done? Just by editing build.prop file? Can you post this build.prop file please?

The BT doesn't work because of the incompatibility of 4.0 BT and the 2.3.5 kernel. Changing to the en.eu rom dosn't change your kernel version, just the system version.
You can just install arctic 3.0 on your BR if you want 2.3.6 system, but you will still be on the old kernel.

After I install arctic 3.0 -- can I flash the stock 2.3.x en.eu ROM? Does the fastboot image not include the kernel? So if I go BR -> arctic -> en.eu GB -> en.eu ICS why my kernel would still be the old one?

We can't change our kernel no matter what you do.
You can run whatever system you want, including like for example Ubuntu or Gentoo Linux, Arctic ROM, CM, etc BUT, you will be using the same kernel (that we can't change no matter what).
We can only boot official motorola kernel signed for LATAM. EU users have a wider option of kernels, including the one from the leaked ICS.
For now, LATAM users can choose between 2 very similar kernel versions. The one from retail rom and the other from vivo.
I am impresse that the only incompatibility noticed so far is the Bluetooth. Can anyone please confirm that?
I'm running ICS with BR kernel (vivo). Besides Bluetooth, we got no hardware acceleration working, but i didn't noticed performance drop in any game compared to 2.3.5. i believe the problem it's just the implementation in google chrome and flash video layer too.
I will switch back to GB because of the camcorder

Why is this in the retail rom thread? If this is a custom rom it doesn't belong here!

[Q] How to go back from ICS to GB

I have tried CM9 on my Razr for a while but not quite happy with it but I can not flash it back to stock ROM. Does anyone know where to look for the solutions? I have read many topics but not make it through. It keeps saying Installation abort.
Thank you in advance.
use RSD Lite to flash stock ROM Gingerbread
What he said.....make sure you download the correct fast boot files which correspond with your phone....then just use RSS lite to flash to phone. This is simple and works well
Or use the RAZR utility which is a one stop shop

This. I just did this last week (reverting from leaked ICS back to stock GB). Works fine. Just RSD to stock GB and let your phone update all the way to the latest OTA.
