Today v20c was deployed. Last time I tried to update an optimus one with the lg software the phone was bricked. Is there a failsafe guide to update the phone?
Thanks.
Go to service center.

just put your phone in emergency and use kdzupdater, BUT do not unplug you phone untill it restarts itself. even if there is any error just start over but DO NOT UNPLUG YOU PHONE
Download the kdz file, use tools to get Dz file from kdz, backup NV from lgmdp ,flash dz file using lgmdp software (DZ button at bottom of flash window). Never lose emergency mode.(don't remove battery)

today in italy the v20c was released and I updated using the official procedure more than 12 phones.
Maybe you problems with official update procedure could be related to the computer you used for.
I believe that if you follow the procedure on a "clean" computer you will have success. Uninstall all software and drivers related to LG or any other phone. Check in devices if all USB and modem drivers was removed and reboot.
Start installing the LGMobile Update without connect your phone by USB and follow instructions. If you have success uninstalling previous soft and drivers, the LG application will install USB drivers and after you can connect you phone and continue with update.
Good luck
KDZ worked without any hassle. I just deactivated the LG modem before proceeding.
I updated 3 phones with this system.
I updated using lgmdp and now my phone will not get data so no internet unless i am on wifi does anyone know why or how to fx it?????

The new baseband does NOT work with the ROM you are using. I do not see why on earth did you flash it. Downgrade it.

it didn't work with my phone in general after flashing the new official update I couldn't get 3g anywhere even on that rom tried flashing a new baseband thru recovery and kdz but nothing had to use kdz to flash original firmware and start over it was a pain in the butt the ROM looked cool but with no data no thank you

Well, enjoy your non-working data then. The new baseband will NOT work on CM7, period.
Next time, think about what you are doing.

You don't understand my data did not work on the official ROM either I did everything it said to do fallowed all the steps and it went just like the post read I rebooted the ROM worked except the data even with the official ROM it would not work I even tried flashing the baseband again for the v20 rom but still nothing and the only way I could get it back was by using kdz and flashing original 2.2 and starting over
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
ZOMG. You are not supposed to use v20? baseband for the ROM you have in signature (CyanogenMod 7.1-RC0 v6.5.5). It will just NOT work.
- Check that you have v10 baseband
- Wipe all, reflash mik's ROM.
- Do NOT flash any other baseband "patch" or whatever similar.
Now you will have perfectly working data.
v20 baseband will ONLY work on official 2.3.3 ROM and ROMs based on that official 2.3.3. ROM.
If you still do not understand this explanation, then kindly stick to stock ROM and do not flash anything at all.

those of you who bricked your phone check the how to's on unbricking, for those that upped to the official gingerbread through LG and dont have data check your carrier APN settings, i had to manually install mine
go into settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, APN or Acess Point Names
Dear all, I just bought the international version and would like to root the machine so that I can use titanium backup and others apps that requires root. I will not remove or do any thing else as I am a not good in all the computing stuff. After rooting with Toolkit, will I be able to receive official firmware update with KIES or OTA? This is my concern, if I am not able to update anymore, than it would be a disappointment.
Thank you in advance.
I think that you have to unroot and then you will receive the update. Then you root it again.

Official update fails at 32%. Is there a simpler way to unroot the phone without overwriting the stock rom as I am using the stock rom, it's just the phone been rooted via S3 Toolkit.
Hopefully there will be an update for 4.1 soon. I don't want to root my phone now, which in the end can't updated. I will lose interest in the phone.

Of course you can update your mobile phone. Simply remove the root before the update. Later you can return your mobile phone to root

Oh! Thanks for the information. It seems you tried to update via OTA. I am trying directly the KDZ and if root not available can stay without root for few days to review the rom.
JUST NOW I HAVE HARD-RESET THE PHONE BEFORE FLASHING KDZ.

So we can keep root or not? And can someone review the touch sensitivity of the ROM? Is it as good as the P760 V10h?

Flashed V10G P765 India.
Not very good but Touch Responsiveness is better than all previous roms. Rom seems bit faster too. I use Free Nova Launcher and its obviously better than stock.
Too many Bloatware included by them. bigflix, SystemBackupTest, Cell Broadcast, QuickTranslater, Google Play, etc.
NOT ROOTABLE AFTER DIRECTLY FLASHING. Voodo Rootkeeper could not retain ROOT. Seems something more stronger.
Will stay UNROOTED for couple of days for reviewing other aspects, battery, performance, etc.

Anyone tried rooting it with any method?
Did anyone try Rooting V10C and then upgrade to V10D via OTA (with Voodoo Rootkeeper method)?
I tried this several times but OTA on my device is not working and shows the error"Your phone is not registered"

I'm on P765 10g(My device is a P765) rooted. :highfive: Its a great surprise especially after what everyone was saying in this thread.
Here's what I did:
I was on P760 10h rooted backup by cmahendra.
I flashed the indian V10C, did a factory reset.
Rooted by using Root with restore.
Installed VOODOO Root Keeper and updated SuperSU.
Used wifi and updated to V10d.
From V10d I updated to V10g using wifi again.
Voila, I'm still rooted. And this is definitely a great improvement from the previous firmwares as stated by cmahendra.
Restoring all my data from backup right now. I hope my steps help the fellow xda people.

@Dark Fable, This is really a great news for all P765 users. It seems partial OTA is not working in India for us. Can you do all of us a favor? Please take clean CWM Backup of Rooted V10G and upload as instructed in this post? So we can Root V10C and directly restore V10G.
Your rom will be added in the list and a credit is given for all contributors in the thread.
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to develop a CWM flashable .ZIP for v20F to v20H like Lelus did here for the v20D to v20F?

there are no different from 20h and 20f
lg only patched masterkey bug
Seeing as no one seems to want 20H, myself included, is there sure-fire way to avoid the update?
I was getting that annoying system update available message like every 10 minutes up until I stopped using the phone about a week ago when I got my Galaxy Note 3.
I have frozen a fair number of the bloatware apps through titanium , and I deleted the system update file. Do I need to uninstall the bloatware permanently or something? I would hate to hit the update now button and get a dead Android or something, or have the update actually go through...
Can anyone confirm what they did to safely avoid having the update happen after they started seeing the pop up message? I'd rather not sell the phone with the update messages still happening, or lose all that work that I did to make the phone better through rooting, link2SD, etc.
FWIW my service is T Mobile and I'm running a stock 20F ROM.

Answering my own question:
There are two methods in this middle of this thread to stop the system update notification nagging:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38535547
I tried the one from chicguy a while back and it never worked, but I forgot to try both. I just tried it, and so far the one samomamo posted works great.
I figure I might as well post what worked for me in case anyone else is getting the 20h system update pop up screen that you have to click on about every 10 minutes or so...man that was beyond annoying...

Installed V30c from here with no problems, using LGUP.
Used it to recover my phone from brick.
I was rooted and custom recovery on V30c and accidentally accepted OTA for v30d.
Then I was stuck on bootloop in TWRP. I flashed stock recovery and that was it.
Then I lost root and wanted to relock bootloader. After relocking, it was a very big mess.
