Just wanted to know is it possible to connect mega 5.8 to tv
Cannot see why just check ebay or your local pc shop and get a MHL micro USB to HDMI HDTV Adapter and you should be able to connect your mega to your tv as long as your tv has an HDMI input.
I bought one of these adaptors and I can't get a thing out of it. Is there some setting to enable HDMI output? If so where is it?
DELETED
Forgot to say I have the 6.3 inch mega not the 5.8, but I can't see that making any difference.
Also I have tested it by connecting it to the HDMI port on my monitor as well as the TV and that shows no sign of any input either.

I don't think any of the Megas supports either USB host or HDMI. For example I connected a USB host cable to test if my Mega 5.8 would recognise a flash drive. No, it did not detect anything.
Both devices support the MHL standard and both contain a combined MHL/USB port.
See this download link:
Which is blank because the forum rules won't allow me to post it
Only thing with the MHL adaptor is there is a 5 pin and a 11 pin one and I am not sure if the mega has the 5 or 11 pin one as that could make the difference in it working or not..I will test the MHL adaptor I have and see if it works on my mega 6.3..and I believe the adaptor I have is the 5 pin one as it worked on my SG2 and Note 1 as the 11 pin one is the newer adaptor.
Sent from my SGH-I527M Mega 6.3
Any info on this one yet?

No it's not. I got one that used to be working on P1000 but not on P3100.
Anyone got any ideas of plugging this baby to standard vga projector?
Would love to simply bring all of my lecturing presentations in my oversized phone
the a/v out would have been my suggestion then doing an av to vga
Samsung sells a hdmi out cable that works, if you could find an hdmi to vga adapter that could work....
Tablet to this:

Obviously I cant guarantee it'll work but its worth a shot
Has someone try the usb/bt joy center on cyanogenmod on glaxy tab 2, and it is working?

This works only with Tab 2 10.1" US version (GT-P5113 and carrier-tailored models), not with GT-P5100 and GT-P5110.
Hi guys
Updated to 4.3 no issues. But I recently bought an MHL to HDMI adapter for my Note 10.1 2014 which is working very well with the tablet. So I wanted to try it out with my S3 and it doesnt even detect that there is an hdmi cable connected. It starts charging when i connect the power cable to the adapter, but no hdmi out.
Any ideas? It's just strange because it's working with the note 10.1 which also has android 4.3...
HDMI working fine on my 4.3, S3 requires a special connector for hdmi -no idea if the note has the same connector.
should be the same.. It's a 5 to 11 pin adapter. It even says "S3 MHL Adapter" on it!
I have a whole bunch of apps frosted with Titanium though. Maybe i frosted something that is needed for hdmi?
Got a new MHL to HDMI adapter, I have a galaxy S4 phone and a galaxy note 10.1 2014 tablet. Works with both of them. I was able to get an HDMI output to project the tablet image on my TV. The next step will be to watch a movie on my TV screen that is sourced from my tablet and phone.
Then i tested it with my brother's tab pro 10.1, and it also works awesome. Chose to get this over the Samsung OEM one. So far I am very pleased.
Good to know but exactly how many of your posts are plugs for your website?
so will this mirror the screen or does it only work with viewing movies and pictures?
Does anybody know of any other affordable adapters that will work on a Tab Pro 8.4?

Cable Matters MHL 2.0 to HDMI Adapter with integrated USB Charging Port and 6' Charging Cable for Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/Note 2/Note 3/Note 8.0 - Black. Available on amazon. Sorry, Xda won't let me post the link.
This works with the 8.4 pro w or w/o external power. I had to trim plastic shroud around micro USB plug so it would insert deep enough to make contacts. Mine may have just been a defective example. It was an easy fix.
This one requires a standard m/m HDMI cable (not supplied). The one in post 1 requires a MHL to micro USB cable. (Supplied ? see correction.) The cable needs to be long enough so you can sit with your tablet and reach the TV.
Correction: The one in #1 does come with two cables. A USBmale to microUSBmale (for power) and a Micro USB Male to Male MHL Cable. (The later wasn't included in the pictures unless that what's in the black sleave box). How long is the Micro USB Male to Male MHL Cable? The length isn't listed on WOWparts.
Another correction 4Apr14: The Cable Matters MHL 2.0 to HDMI works fine without external power. Since you can set brightness of the tablet to minimum, you can easily get 4 hours on a charged 8.4 pro, maybe more. If you connect 5v power to the MHL 2.0, the tablet reports it is charging, but in fact, it is not. This is pretty strange. On my Galaxy 7.7 connected to a Samsung HDMI adapter, external 5v is required for the HDMI to work and it also charges the tablet.

after I read this ordered 2 1 for me (Tab Pro 8.4) and 1 for my friend ( Note 3 ) works great can watch a movie on the monitor ( using my PC monitor for this) while still being able to use other apps ( as long as you use the sammy vid player doesn't work that way with 3rd party vid players)
And to clear out some: If you don't know, better not say it,
The kit comes with all you need the "converter" is the small extra mini-usb piece labeled SIII => which by the way I noticed is extra long before I even used it, I figured bad quality control maybe? but no, it happened to my friend that length is actually needed to make contact with the MHL pins i'm guessing at this point since I read that Firedog91902 had to trim his for it to reach further in.
But yes it works great and comes with all you need!, The HDMI plug, USB Cable and the USB 5 pin to 11 pin converter all you need to supply( which you already have) is the charger or another USB cable for it to draw the needed juice.
They way I set it up in 3 steps
HDMI adapter/unit plugged to my monitor ( has 2 HDMI sockets )
Took and extra mini Usb charging cable from and old HTC for power and plugged into a USB 2.0 powered hub.
And last but not least Used provided USB cable with the little dongle converter to plug to the unit/HDMI adapter and my Tab 8.4 and tadaa works great!!

Both and not only that, if you use the stock Video player you can watch the movie on the TV while still browse and use the TabPRO for other stuff, just press home and the movie keeps playing and now you can chat or what ever else with the tab while watching the movie.

While looking to find a HDMI cable solution for my Moto Z, I came across a solution for the Galaxy S7.
- purchase this cable: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272686294141?clk_rvr_id=1297701036148&rmvSB=true
- enable USB debugging
- go to display in settings and set it to the highest resolution
- connect your phone to this cable using your original USB power cable
- Job done.... now you have a solution for connecting your Samsung Galaxy S7 to any TV via HDMI (works for the Moto Z as well using a usb C power cable)
Listing at ebay was already removed...
Try this:

Any displaylink hardware could send the image to the HDMI o VGA port. I have the Targus Multi Display Adapter and I'm able to connect my S7 to a VGA port or HDMI Port without any problem. You can connect a USB keyboard and mouse too! You only need to install the diplaylink app for android
There are many hardware with this technology
Does the ethernet port work with the Targus and S7?
I looking for cable for Samsung S7 it's even possible?
MHL (the primary hdmi to usb micro protocol) does NOT work with S7 or S7 Edge as of at least Nougat. They lost MHL on the 7 line actually, S6 DID support it. Unless MHL support was added in Oreo, I am highly suspect of the claim that this cable "works". I have a rif6 cube projector and this is one of my few phones/tablets that I still can't use on the included MHL microusb-hdmi cable (which works with numerous other Android devices). DisplayLink may work but is an entirely different premise. DisplayLink uses proprietary protocol to send encoded video over usb or wifi. With the display link app installed, yes you may be able to wired/wirelessly output your display but this is similar to screen casting and encodes the video, not a raw hdmi out video cable. DisplayLink also assumes you actually have a DisplayLink capable display or device to cast to (which I sure don't haha)
Can anyone confirm this is still working on latest oreo firmware?
Also, allebay.amazon links are dead, what should we search for?
I am interested in getting one of these until Christmas!
I second that. Can anybody confirm any of these work?
Seems plausible
I cant be sure, but I'm pretty sure you need the microusb to OTG connector that came with the s7....it allows you to plug in standard USB devices such as flash drives, game controllers, etc. You then purchase a VGA displayLINK (not displayport) external USB graphics card....plug vga from USB graphics card to tv/monitor.
USB device handles graphics control..
App acts as linux/android driver so no need for MHL anything....android is an OS...
Sounds workable.....
worth a 30 - 40$ RETURNABLE purchase.....
Looking for VGA displayLINK external USB Graphics card
Would love to try the below suggested solution. I have the Micro-USB to USB OTG adapter that came with the Samsung S7. I've got VGA cables and a tv that will accept VGA. What I don't have is the USB to VGA adapter that is described below. Can you point me to where I can buy the correct item?
I see some USB to VGA adapters on Amazon, but not sure if they'll work with this set up. I'm new to this forum so I can't post links to outside sites, but just search Amazon for "USB to VGA Converter, USB 3.0/2.0 to VGA External Video Card Multi Screen Display Converter Support Resolution 1080p for Win 7/8/8.1/10 Desktop Laptop PC Monitor Projector HDTV [No Need CD Driver] " and you'll find what I'm talking about.
I thought displayLINK was way to wirless mirror my screen. That's not what I'm looking for. I can already do that with Chromecast, ClickShare, etc. I want to have a cabled connection to have in places where I don't have an internet connection at all. This is for business presentations, so I'm not concerned about lag for gaming, nor am I concerned with perfect resolution or even audio. I just want to display screen of my Samsung S7 on a larger display with a cabled connection that doesn't require internet.

Hello, I own Galaxy Tab S6 WIFI, with android 12. I had some problems with connection via usbc-hdmi cable before. I had to plug the usbc at first, and secondly had to plug the hdmi into external monitor. This was the only way, how to make my tab s6 start dex with ext. monitor. But now, I am not able to connect the monitor at all. The tablet's just keep saying "USB connected"/"USB disconnected" over and over.
This message appears only if I try to connect external monitor.
Charging and data transfering are without problems.
If I try to connect S21 (exynos) with the same cable and same external monitor, the connection is established immediately.
Any ideas how to fix it?
PS: If I selected wrong thread, I am sorry. In that case I will delete this post.

Don't have such a problem with mine.
Just ordered and received today new adaptor USB-C to HDMI plus 2 m HDMI cable and I plugged my Galaxy tab S6 to an external monitor and I don't have such a problem as DEX appears immediately.
Edit : Forgot to say I also own a USB-C hub with 3 USB type A slot, 1 USB-C slot, with HDMI and VGA slots, Ethernet 1 GB so I could plug a mouse and and a keyboard and there are also working fine with my Galaxy Tab S6 DEX.
I also have an old Galaxy Note 9 and I can do wireless DEX with my external monitor with a Amazon FireTV Stick in pushing the DEX option from drop down "menu" but wireless DEX won't work with my Galaxy Tab S6.
Could probably be fixed with a next update...
For what I know wireless DEX is also working with a Galaxy Tab S7 and/or Tab S7+....

Thanks, does DeX work with hub connected to tablet? And does the hub charging your TS6 simultaneously?
That is my second problem, I am looking for a hub, that might charge tablet via USBC and share the screen at the same time. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Unfortunately, that is due to the port being USB 2.0, not 3.0. The S6 Lite's USB C port literally doesn't have enough bandwidth to transfer video over cable.
The S21 however has a much higher bandwidth USB 3.0 port that can.
All you can do is wirelessly stream Dex/Smartview over Wifi

Hi, thank you for your answer. But i have Tab S6, not the LITE version.
I am successfully using this HDMI adaptor on my S6 which allows charging at the same time (sorry for the UK Amazon link) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Z8XYLKS
