[Q] Factory Reset

Hi all,
Im trying to do a factory reset as I want to give my phone to my girlfriend but obviously dont want her to access my google mail/phone numbers/ etc. As I cant just remove my googlemail account, it tells me to do a factory reset. when i do this the phone restarts and hangs on
"Failed to boot 2
starting RSD mode"
The phone is a french retails unit that was bought in china, it seems to be rooted by the chinese vendor as its got superuser and a load of other chinese stuf on it (I assume that this is in order for chinese people to use a french retail handset with all their own market and apps etc)
So any idea of how I can remedy the situation? I dont neccesarily need the phone to BL unlocked or anything, just return it to the state it was when i bought it, or flash original rom back onto it.
many thanks,

I think that you need to format with fastboot and reflash an retail sbf with rds lite.
you could go in to recovery and wipe cache and data…i thnk thats what factory reset does

[q] how to s-off htc amaze 4g, without usb debugging, plss helppp

guys plss i need urgent help, my htc amaze 4g with wind mobile is bricked at htc screen, and i cant download a stock ICS or gingerbread rom because it says "CID incorrect, update failed" on the bootloader screen. i read forums on how to s-off, but the steps include being in usb debugging mode, problem is i cant be in usb debugging since i cant access my phones settings from home screen since im bricked, there has to be a way around this plsssss help. how do i s-off without usb debugging????
Had the same issue, this is what worked for me.
You need Amaze all in one tools with your unlock_bin in the data folder of the program.
Al I did was remove the sd card, install a custom recovery, then unlock bootloader and then it just booted with the rom I had before that was on the phone internal storage. I hope this helps.

[Q] Android device encryption - How to locate device if lost and phone is restarted

Hi everyone,
Its my first time posting posting here and hopefully im at the right place. I have recently decided to encrypt my device but a question popped up in my mind and couldnt find any answers.
If my device is encrypted and lost is there any way to locate my device if it has been restarted and whoever found is stuck at the unlock screen. From what I understand the password is requested before the phone is fully started and that worries me and find this pointless if there is no way to locate my device. Currently my phone is unlocked in case someone tries to put their SIM card in which will allow the device to notify me but that is pointless if once my device is restarted and stuck at the unlocking screen I cant locate it. Im fairly techy and open to any solutions even if it requires loading a custom rom.
Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 on Rogers network with stock Firmware 4.3. Was previously rooted with TWRP recovery but restored to encrypt my device. Im waiting on a possible solution before I restore my phone to its previous state.
Thanks for all your help.

[Q] adb not reading device

Alright guys, Ive been trying to fix my friends DNA i guess from what he said is that he had a system update happen on his phone and it would just stay on the "HTC Quite Brilliant" Page. I tried a factory reset, and that didn't do anything, I went into recovery to wipe cache partition. I also tried wipe data/factory reset from recovery as well as hboot. so i got adb and i plugged the phone in while on fastboot. "adb devices" Shows nothing its just blank underneath the listed devices. So i figured that the drivers wont install i installed htc sync manager as advertised has the supporting drivers. Htc sync manager reads the device but doesn't say its a DNA it just says that its rom number. I tried to go to fastboot and put a previous dated RUU on but it had a error and just couldn't do anything with the phone. So now i went into the recovery and behind the menu screen it says "updating software from verizon wireless" but theres a issue with that is that the sim card in it isnt activated anymore so theres no data going to that phone if it is updating and if it downloaded the os to the phone it should be wiped since i did a factory reset 3 times and wiped cache 3 times as well.
So What i think is wrong is that:
I need usb Debugging on
S is on
Drivers wont install properly
I may need a active sim card to pass the updating?

I tried to unlock the device to see if this would help out and i got it connected and i went and i got the token for the device and went to get the tocken and it came back with a error code
Error Code: 160.
Error Reason: MID Not Allowed.
Can someone please help me out here?
I was missing android sdk and i installed android sdk, and my device will read in adb but when i got to flash a udate it will read signature error. but im not using the word update im using "fastboot flash hboot hboot.img" and so forth and its not working i still cant get the hboot to unlock. please help me figure out if its possible to fix this phone im really determined to fix it and i need alittle bit of help.
Unfortunately, unless you can boot into the ROM, you cannot unlock this phone. I suggest contacting HTC support and let them know the update soft bricked the device and since you cannot unlock it, you need their help in getting it to boot again. HTC is very good when it comes to support, even for phones that are out of warranty. Support staff have been instructed to fix any m7 even if out of warranty period for the camera issue (talked to a rep personally on this issue today when making small talk). I am sure if their update borked your phone and it hasn't been tampered, they will fix it free of charge. What's the worse they can say, no?
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app
I contacted there support 2 times on the phone and once trying to live chat and i got hung up on twice.. so im at loss here
Im really not happy with htc they cant tell me anything to any cause to why there update would cause the softbrick on the phone itself did anyone else have a issue with 4.09 update bricking your phone?? and did anyone find a solution for it?

Help needed possible brick

i have a htc desire 510 on tesco mobile. i unlocked the bootloader and wiped the device ( helvik etc etc ) but mistakenly forgot to put the zip file with the new rom on the sd card. the phone now boots to the htc white screen and freezes there. is it possible to save the phone???
many thnx in advance from a new member
