Capacitive button problem with R.E.D.D. - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hey everyone,
I have R.E.D.D. installed on my 5.0 (yp-g70) US version with CWM kernel. For some reason, everything seems to work, EXCEPT the capacitive buttons, which is obviously annoying when attempting to navigate. Any ideas as to why this is?

In situations where it is only the capacitive buttons that have a problem. It's always the result of having the wrong kernel. Please check the ROM's thread for special instructions for region ie (US, INT, KOR) and that the ROM is compatible with your region.

Thanks! That was the problem after all, I had flashed the international kernel, not the US.

If you bought it in Korea, get the Korean ROM. Otherwise the international. XXKPL/KRKPN are the newest.

Boot into recovery (hold home+volume up+power) and wipe data/factory reset.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Are you sure you want to install GB? Will lose the main functionality: Music Player.
Nothing so far managed to play the Sound Alive present in Froyo.
I could not leave the Froyo until today because of it.
I tried everything suggested. But ...
Good luck I hope you are able to adapt their ears away from the magnificent sound that is only possible in Froyo.

Samsung Galaxy Player 5 - Custom kernel not working - need a stock backup that works?

I installed rj's custom kernel for the Galaxy Player 5 international on my samsung galaxy player 5.0 649E-YPG70 A3LYPG70 (after rooting it). The problem with each kernel listed on the page is that the 3 buttons (left, home, back capacitive buttons) do not work. I am not actually sure if my player is the international version or the US version which could be the source of my problem.
Unfortunately i did not backup the original stock kernel.

I tried installing the stock kernel that is listed on the page XXKPF but it wont boot up so i am left with an unusable device. Building my own kernel looks like a huge effort so my device is useless at the moment.
Could somebody send me a backup of the original kernel. I noticed on the forum above that some people already did backups but since i am new member i can't post on the developers forum. Any help would be appreciated thanks

[Q] Moving from i9100 to i9100G (chinese)..common doubts

HI guys,
Due to an undesired dead of my previous i9100, i'm probably switching to a i9100G, which I'll get borrowed from a friend for a few months. It's 100% the chinese model.
After a bit of checking, I've found that it's not an Exynos model. Does this mean i9100G gets official full CM10.1 support? TI chipsets have all the source available, right?
If I want to install ROMs, any CWM ROM for i9100G will work, right? The ones I can't flash will be official samsung roms for i9100G international, right?
Thank you!

YES, its TI-Omap processor on that I9100G for u.And all Custom rom's meant for I9100G will wrk on it
This is great news! I couldn't find the official thread for CM10.1 for the i9100g, could you point it for me? I'm mostly interested in a JB vanilla experience, maybe with a modification to allow the camera to store pics in the SD and also allow mass storage, but that would be it. Oh, and stability...I had so many crashes with my i9100 on CM10.1, and camera/3D issues. Do you have any recommendation?
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Huh, nevermind, now I found the CM10.1 thread. Still, any good vanilla recommendation besides CM10.1?
EDIT2: Another question better to ask to wiser people: I'm going to receive this 9100g running android stock 2.3.x chinese version, how could I change to international JB bootloader?

Thanks for the info! HOwever my concern isn't about finding an international JB ROM. I think there needs to be some kind of previous flash in order to make it work on a 9100G chinese version. Is this correct?
Thank you!

previous flash of what
Not sure, that's my concern. I believe you can't just odin your way to international stock JB from a chinese stock ROM, you'll need a way to turn your 9100G international (I guess it's related with some kind of tag string in the bootloader or similar).

[Q] Capacitive buttons are dead

Hi,
Just flashed Pac-Rom 4.3 with venturi kernel v7, and the capacitive buttons (i.e. the Menu/Home/Back buttons - USA version) do not respond at all, they do light up (simply because I touch the screen, not because pressing them, pressing literally doesn't trigger any action, nor does long press).
Any advice?
Make sure you flash the USA version and not the INTL version.

I certainly flashed the USA version, I even tried this again.

[Q] Help please - which model 5.0 do I have, what is latest ROM?

Hi all,
I have an 8GB YP-G70. It's been rooted - when I first got it, I was going to use Titanium - but then my wife wanted it, so I gave it to her and forgot about it. Now she's got a new phone and I can't find the tools I used to root it or any of my notes, I must have erased the folder.
I know I bought it from Woot. If I recall, it was not actually a US version? Kies says it's got the latest firmware but I'm not sure it checks the firmware if the device is rooted.
It has the hard button for the home key.
I'd like to know what is the latest stock ROM I can use, I want the camera and everything else to work. Any help is appreciated.
It has:
Firmware version
2.2.2
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
Build number
FROYO.XXKD6
I believe you have the INTL model.
CM 10.2.

Thank you, that was it. I was able to update to 2.3.6 using Odin.
In case someone else gets one and they don't know the difference, the international version has a physical home button and the US version has a capacitive (touchscreen) home button.
