same here buddy, still thinking,is it really LG..? I think these earphones must have been made from the ashes, the remains of a recycled nokia 1100.

Good luck with that, but helping you is against my own interests.

Put them in the blender
Run them through a lawn mower
Use scissors to cut the wires
That's all I can think of right now I'll let you know if I think of anything else

finally, got the earphone button screwed, took a circiut, connected it to earphones and pass 250v current, boom a strong static sound comes from earphones and puff its done.

What is missing from this stolen phone?

OK about 6 months ago my I dopped my phone, cracked the touch glass, so I ordered a new white case and glass (they were never sold here by telstra in white). So the day I get my phone back I go down to a house I am renovating after work to do some more renovations. about midnite some low life sneeks in the back door and steals my phone off the counter while I was at the other end of the house.
Well today a friend brought a white phone into my work to have repaired- and what do you know its my phone (I still have the box with imei number under my desk).
Upon opening battery cover I see this - can anyone tell me what has been ripped out from the top left and if it can be replaced / fixed (the phone boots but I need to flash it before I can put a sim card in it):

So can anyone tell me what is missing and if I can fix it / buy a replacement?
it is only a cover ( for speaker )
if your hw speaker is working its not a big deal just cover it up with the back case.
yeah theres nothing missin
i took that black cover off mine a while back and theres nothing there
but dont u think its weird that there is nothing under it?
why cover up something that isnt even there? i am thinking that SE planned to put something in there, but didnt in the end... just my opinion
nah seems to me its like a service panel like its a space to get to the motherboard easier
I guess its the compass try they maps and if the comapass works because its cover is removed
Cheers

Bte get a light metalic magnetic thing near this part and it will stick to it. Its the compass for sure, its there but it hasn't to be a moving part.

that would be a waste of space, if u ask me
but compass could really be there, and this empty pocket is like some protection for it to work properly.

Wow man talk about luck!
Hope everything works again.. are you planning on giving it back
So I'm curious what happened to this situation with the "friend" who brought the phone in. Did he confess he stole it from you, whether or not he knew it was yours, or did you confront him? Or did he bring it in for someone else maybe? I know I would be pissed at someone, especially a friend, if they stole my phone. Not to mention that you just fixed the damn thing. How long did he have it? I would be grilling that thief. "Why did you take my phone?" "Why the F#[email protected] is the cover off the back inside, your obviously not a phone technician or you wouldn't be bringing it in?!" "What kind of person steals someones phone?" and the final thing to say, "Come by my house later, I have a surprise for you."
its the speaker, Mini also have this mesh thing, it is used to cover the diaphragm of the speaker. it also in line with the speaker outlet. but on your unit only the mesh was gone.
this diaphragm protect it from dirt build up. So without this it will still work but have a possibility to have dirt buildup.

Got a brick? I'll buy the motherboard / charging port (USB)...

This thread explains why I need one.
Anyone got a Vibrant laying around doing nothing? I need a motherboard or charging port.
Can someone confirm this will work? At the very least, I could rip the charging port (USB) out of it... I doubt the motherboard would work.
where are all of those "I bricked my phone" threads when you need them??
If you are still looking to get one. I could use one too. Just let me know how much and ill send you the cash.

I'll do the soldering if you need it.
I'd like to have the motherboard if you don't need it after you're done. I'm curious as to if I can change the LEDs for the hard keys.

Phone is now off to Samsung. Once I hear back that they wont repair it, someone offered to sell me one for $10.
If it comes to that, I may solicit help on the soldering it to the motherboard. I can solder, but I have never done small electronics.
Dude ill buy 20 mobos if someone can get my babys pics off mine. Those r priceless to me plus I could keep themeing vibrant lol.
Samsung wanted 200per device, which I have 2, to fix mine because the so called gorrila glass is cracked on one of them......Hows that for customer service on a discontinued device?
Sent from my Precision Vibrant
I don't mind helping. I've got numerous tools at work at my disposal, including microscopes to make sure the job is done right.
Me and my girl are probably switching service in December, so you two guys can have dibs... if you want it.

I need to go back and read your thread I guess... how is a cracked screen preventing you from getting your babies pics man? I am ubber confused by that.
Its not the cracked screen. Ive got 2 vibes. My wifes just crapped out alll of a sudden running stock. Mine had the cracked screen but it dont affect performance. Its been like that since I dropped "gorrilla glass" in the grass a week after I got mine a year ago. Idk wtf happend to hers she made a call on stock and it goes to the vibe bootload screen then dies. I got it into recovery once but ir died before I can save drives. (less then 20 secs).
Samsung says its because its been dropped and wants roughly 200 each to fix my issues even though ones bone stock that turned into a paperweight....
Sent from my Precision Vibrant
wait... hers should EASILY be covered under warranty with Samsung. Assuming a july 15 purch, you should still have until Oct.
Are you saying T-Mo was saying "no," or samsung. If the latter, that is complete BS and I need to get more clarification for how they justify it?
Can you pull the files in the 20 seconds with ADB in bursts?
EDIT.. TWEET SENT
Hey @SamsungMobileUS - how do you justify yourself? Help the man get his babies pictures under warranty!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17362197&postcount=10 Please RT!

Phone itself still runs fabulously, minus the main screen haha. Soft LED buttons also work.
Above picture is the aftermath of being ran over by forsure atleast 1 car, but possibly 3.
About a month ago, I attempted to disassemble it & screen swap with a bricked donor to some success. Runs & displays with the donor screen, but I think i ****ed up a couple fuse contact points because random seizure lines strobe once in awhile.
Anywho, it's dissambled into 3 different parts atm: Motherboard, Digitizer/AMOLED pane, and the main shell.
@thehandi,
Have you tried android screencast. Before the gingerbread bootloaders we were using it to see recovery through the rainbows. It will show what should be in your screen. And you can use your mouse to navigate your phone
Beware of angry gingerbread man

Anyone with this issue should. I can have more conversations without the "I can't hear you & what's wrong your phone" lol
This has been noted here too; it's easier to just cover the hole with your finger when necessary because the noise cancellation DOES in fact aid certain environments.
So far, it is much better especially in the moderate dB of the outside, but in a loud cafeteria, it was no good for me. Overall, I like it, I'll keep it as my important calls are taken in quiet places anyways.
Has anyone else come up with a fix for this. Does it go away if you install a custom rom?

Or maybe an app or program that would just internally disconnect the 2nd mic from the process. (software wise)

Unfortunatly there isn't yet a coustum rom out for the titan but we are already collecting a bounty for it. Feel free to check the Titan general section for more info.
My family keep having a go at me for spending a lot of money on a brand new phone and saying i sound muffled. It is such a shame I have to resort to putting tape inside my phone.
Call quality on TitanII
Any comments on how the call quality is for the Titan II? I know that the original suffered from the muffled sound and I was wondering if the new one has the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Call quality on my Titan II is excellent.

So I left my precious Galaxy Note on the back on my dads truck, the car that he will only drive 10% of the time, and then today he drives it. I go out to get my phone and realize he took the truck. I was like "OHHHHHHH *swear words*!!!!!!!!!"
I went out and looked for it and found it on the side of the rode face down with the screen protector off. I had a simple flip case on it, but I wasn't able to find that.
I am ultra sad right now, but there is a lot of hope.
A strange thing is that the battery was still in it and the back of the phone had absolutly no scratches on it.
I turned it on and I could hear little startup sounds like the new gmail message one
So I guess that is good, but I still have this broken screen .
So the reason I am posting this is because I want to know if I can get it fixed with a kit or something. I am assuming I have to get the LCD and polarizer because the screen is cracked into little bits as the picture showed, and I can pick out each of those bits pretty much.
So much for gorilla glass
Gorilla glass is not for a phone dropping off a moving car....
Also p.m. me I have a spare backing for the note brand new

wait, you left the phone on the back of his truck.....you say that like its normal like one would put it on their dresser or something. So you normally leave your phone in the garage on a vehicle?
Looks like someone ran over it. too many impact points on the glass from pressure applied, rather than the initial smack on the ground.

That is awesome, was this a difficult process? Just curious as I hate the idea of a non removable battery and would like to hope I could tear it down and replace it myself if needed.
:Funny thing...
This is what 75 percent of owners have said has happened to their phone, after a 3 inch drop onto a goose-down pillow
This phone looks good even when torn down!

You've got bigger cajones than me. This sort of stuff is far too fiddly for my liking
If it ain´t broke, don´t fix it Take good care and use a protective case and your phone will be good for at least 2 years ( until you get to choose a new device from your mobile provider ).
I have to say the battery is fiercely glued in. If you want to see how to change the battery, you can come to Witrigs.com/blog to see the process. Hope it does help.

Is there any information regarding the headphone jack audio amplifier chip?
The most intimidating thing about taking this apart is the glass over the camera area. Sure, I might get it out but not breaking it in the process is going to be tough much less getting it back without the glue looking like crap.
