I have the SGP 5.0 US version and I recently tried the PAC man rom.... I used it for a few hours and decided to go back to CM 10.2... So before I flashed the CM 10.2 rom I did the usual... I wiped the data/factory reset, wiped the cache and wiped the devlik cache and then flashed the rom... So after I rebooted and looked at my apps I still see the pacman game and the PAC console there.... Also when I go to the home screen I sometimes see that paranoidandroid preferences stopped.... I am well aware that Cyanogenmod is a part of PAC, but I did not expect this to happen.... I wiped the data/factory rest, wiped cache and I wiped the devlik cache twice before flashing rom to make sure I didn't make a mistake... How did this happen?
PAC is very slow...
Em... what the? This post was from back in October!
EDIT: BTW, the OP's problem is that he didn't wipe /system in between flashes....

Ps: i'm rooted and i'm on SiyahKernel 1.5.2
Problems equal wipe no problems equal wipe not needed .

Thanks man!!
It's normal, cause you didn't wipe data / factory reset in recovery. Although you don't notice any problems wiping data is recommended if you come from another rom than Omega

i'm having this prob on flashing wanamlite and neatrom latest rom. flashing is completed using cwm but when i'm goin to reboot it, it just stucked on bootanimation. i waited 20mins but still nothing happened. what could be the problem? i flashed the latest rootbox and i am able to boot no problem encountered.
Okay first of all - next time, loose the big font. I'm sure everyone who visits this forum can read totally fine.
Next, did you make a full wipe before flashing wanamlite or neatrom? (Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache)
Also after you've flashed any of the ROMs. If it gives you an option to reboot and no other option - do it. If there is an other alternative to go back to CWM - do that. Cause either way you should try to go back to CWM Recovery and from there, wipe cache and dalvik cache (again) and also set permissions. After you've done those things, reboot and it should work.
(i had same proble flashing Omega v23)
i did a clean install by philz and also the wipe data cache and dalvik but i don't go back to cwm to do that again and to fix permission, i just restarted it after installing the rom. thanks, i'll try to do what you said.
I have downloaded an unofficial build for 4.3 (CM 10.2 actually). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398770
I have wiped cache and dalvik cache and done a factory reset before flashing the new rom. The log shows the rom was successfully installed, but when I reboot, the last rom I had installed starts up.
Thanks guys.
Hello!
I've been having really really weird problems with my phone and CWM.
Right now I have latest stable CM installed.
Today I decided to switch to ParanoidAndroid.
I got the right ROM, but I installed the wrong google apps the 4.2.2 one.
Now I get a crash when I try to use the keyboard so I decided to flash it again.
I went back into CWM.
Factory reset, deleted cache, wiped dalvik cache.
Installed the same .zip file I did the first time for Paranoid Android except I didn't install Google Apps.
I restart the phone and it doesn't seem to have flashed, it's the one with 4.2.2 GAPPS.
I've tried wiping it 3 times.
I decided to check internal storage on my phone and this is what I see.
I don't think it's supposed to look like this after I just did a factory reset. Right?

(I can't post links yet)
Right now I just want to hard reset my phone and install PA.
EDIT: I just Factory Reset, Wiped Cache and dalvik restarted my phone and I'm back to the PA ROM with GAPPS 4.2.2
via CWM
go to mounts & storage >> Format system
then
wipe data/factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
flash ROM
Flash Gapps
Flash Desired kernel (if any)
Reboot
everything should be Fine
And for next time I suggest you use philz recovery, it has a clean install options in wipe data/factory reset, it should help you
Hi
I flashed CM11 on my rooted Samsung S3 LTE which was running stock 3.5. I am thinking of going down to CM10.2. (I hear it isn't as tough on the battery)
Do I just wipe cache and dalvik, factory reset, flash Rom and Gapps, wipe cache and dalvik and reboot or is it more complex.
Thanks in advance
Z
