Hey guys so I got a rezound recently because i wanted a nicer phone. the catch is that I use Straight Talk. Now I've read on here that it's possible to get the Rezound to work on Straight Talk but I don't understand 100% how to do it...Also, would it be better for me to get an AT&T SIM with 4G or to get the Activation code to use the Verizon CDMA? please help.
Right now all you will get from GSM providers is edge speeds. If you use a CDMA carrier that piggy backs off Verizon towers you can get 3G and in some cases 4G

I think you have been slightly misinformed... The Rezound cannot be activated on ST/CDMA as Straight Talk does not activate 4G Verizon phones... An AT&T SIM will work for voice, SMS, and Edge data, 3G is hit and miss, and the Rez doesn't have the proper hardware to use AT&Ts 4G LTE network.

Actually you can use its cdma functions but its a hassle to get it to work....you have to flash the phone using a few programs like cdma workshop and such....however currently i am using it on straight talks tmobile sim card and have one of their at&t sim cards im also gonna test with here soon....im still working on the 4g fix but may also require some cdma workshop stuff as well....no one was misinformed just uninformed on how

Hi guys,
I'm using an unlocked telus amaze 4g and it won't connect with rogers 3g/4g connection. It feels like I'm connected to edge or something. No "H" or anything on the signal bars at all.
I tried a couple of apn's including the apn settings from my rogers Samsung galaxy s 2 LTE and still not working.
I just realized now that I'm still using my rogers LTE sim from my rogers galaxy s2 LTE. I'm not sure if that matters or not at all. Ill also keep an eye out when I'm out of my place to see if the signal gets better and if it is then I'll know that the radio of the amaze isn't quite as good compared to the galaxy s 2 LTE.

Lol i was on wifi from hime and when stepped out and no internet what so ever.

Thanks bud, I figured it out eventually as well after looking at the developer part of the amaze forum.
-----------
I don't know if it was necessary but what I did was purchased a non LTE sim card from rogers but it didn't pick up the proper APn so I had to manually enter the APN settings. I'm not sure if my LTE sim could have worked before since i didn't have the right APN before.
Here's what I'm using now as for the APN, I kind a googled this and found it on the Atrix forum.
name: rogers
apn: rogers-core-appl1.apn
server: 172.25.0.107
mmsc: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
mms proxy: 10.128.1.69
mms port: 80

mnc: 720
apn type: default,supl.mms
Seems to be working for me now since I now have internet and I could see 3g & H+ beside the signal bar now.
I've saw some of the others but not this one. Thanks in advance.
You get "4g" with the settings that Straight Talk gives you. You will not get 4G LTE from straight talk. It will be awesome when/if they do though

LTE has to be turned on by AT&T. I went from a Sony Xperia Play to the note and they had to record my info in order to activate LTE. From what I was told it is based on your Sim type.
Despite having this turned on, sadly there is no LTE service in my area. I guess I should have stayed with my 4G APN and service settings.

Been on straight talk for over a year now, first with a sim out of a Nokia then a sim from the BYOD program. The biggest issue you may run into is some towers don't like the Pay as you go APN. I have a tower in the next town over that sometimes just wont let any web traffic through, drive 5 miles down the road, it switches towers and suddenly i'm getting 6Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up, and it's not just my note, happened to my captivate, my Infuse, my skyrocket, and my Note. My friends on a ATT LTE APN have no issues on the same tower. Other than that, it is awesome! Can't beat 45$ for some nice service and great coverage.
I use mine for tethering to my tablet, Netflix, YouTube, and my Dish Network account. I have had a problem once where i went over about 3 gigs in one month and i got throttled, i called customer support and they un-throttled me with no hassle, great customer service.
Make sure to leave out the proxy settings when you setup the APN.

It's been discussed in many other device threads that the proxy settings do more harm than good when it comes to capping the speed you get on downloading and uploading.

Do any of you all just pay the 25$ per month with no data plan? It has been advertised that with the unlimited messaging you still get picture messaging and I was able to with my captivate however since switching to the note I have not been able to download a single picture that is sent to me so I do everything by email. In the messageit just says downloading and I have yet to see something actually download. If anyone has any info on this that would be great!

I wanted to ask if you know which prepaid plan a sgh i717 from att would work better on? Straight talk or att?
I see you have yours own straight talk. Would I have to go into the phone setting to make it work or just buy a sim card, put into the phone and it works?

You'd just need a SIM card to make it work. If the SIM card is from t mobile or a different carrier then you'd need to obtain an unlock code.

You wont get 4g though. You might get hspa+, maybe. However you will be getting screwed over because straight talks's gsm coverage is inferior to their cdma coverage.
I was just gonna start a thread on this topic. I'm using straight talk on my DNA right now. I get hspa+ or "at&t" 4g speeds. I was just talking with a Wal-Mart rep who told me, that 3 straight talk users here In Montana were terminated from straight talk because the SIM runs on AT&T network. In the fine print supposedly it's only supposed to use sprint, and Verizon networks. I guess AT&T caught these users using their towers.
I'm a little scared of getting terminated myself. But I don't want to pay Verizon high ass prices! I guess that new law will affect us after all.

Since I've bin back using my HTC DNA I've bin with ultra.me which is in new york, so far no problem. Honestly if you yourself has an account with them I wouldn't worry. But for myself I keep hearing about METRO PCS about unlocked phones & up too $100 REBATE , I think I might check that out. The subject of the story is that if you have a phone you like make sure it's unlocked & go to whoever you feel comfortable with bottom line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Walk through please?
To any of the posters that have the dna running on straight talk, I'd love a walk through on what needs to be done to get this to work. I'm giving my boyfriend my old dna, and he has straight talk service currently. He's really excited to get a phone that's a lot better than the one he's been using for the last three years, and I really want to pull this off for him but Im not sure what exactly I need to do. All help is appreciated... Thanks!
I think you just set the phone to global mode for gsm networks of on stock. If using a custom Rom, just download the gsm version.

Service is good as it runs on at&t. HSPA speeds can vary from 2-8 MB so for $45 a month you can't go wrong. If he uses a sense based ROM he will probably have to manually edit his APN which the Straight Talk website covers in detail. If its a stock android ROM for me it automatically configured my APN. I just put my ST Sim in the phone.
im using att
do any one knows how to connect it on cdma instead of gsm att or tmobile?

Answer to this question is yes, The HTC DNA Verizon is CDMA Capable as well as Global GSM. I had My HTC DNA Flashed to Verizon side of Straighttalk about 8 months ago, around thanksgivin. It is on the verizon side of striaghttlak, I get FAST 3G speeds, no 4g but I can live with that for $45 A month. Im not sure how or the policy of sharing links on this website/forum but here is the place who flashed my HTC DNA, And they also flashed 2 other model phones for me as well, they had pretty fair prices also...
The phone # to text to get this done is 231 327 2601 they have a website also but I cannot remember the link or name.

Yeah, super simple. The only thing you need when switching out the sim is to switch your APN file. Net10 uses a different APN setting then Straght talk. Not much different, but would highly recommend switching it just to be sure. Just add both into your APN settings and then just switch between them when switching sims.

True, but your $29 plan is very limited.
1,200 Minutes
3,000 Text/Picture Messages*
500 MB of Data 4G LTE Speeds
We pay $100 for 5 lines w/ Cricket Wirless (owned & operated by AT&T). Each lines has:
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited text/picture messages
2500 of Data 4G LTE (throttled at 8mbps), if you go over 2.5GB, it's throttled down to 128kbps.
We use Verizon S4, S5, Note 3, Note 4, and Note Edge phones. We connect to band 4 LTE on AT&T's network. Been experimenting with enabling additional LTE bands on our Verizon phones via the instructions in these threads, but I haven't been able to verify whether the changes I've made works. Not sure what AT&T LTE bands are available in our area.
