Last I checked, the net10 plan for att sim card is actually 1.5 gigs. I am using net10 as well and will be switching to straight talk tomorrow. They use the same primary company but straight talk offers 3 gig for the same price and plan.

Out of curiosity I bought my phone outright is it pretty easy to switch back and fourth? I work all over the US and sometimes att has awesome service and Verizon doesn't have anything and vice versa. Is it as easy as just switching Sims? I'm new to all of this but would like to be able to easy switch to the better network. Thanks!

Yeah, super simple. The only thing you need when switching out the sim is to switch your APN file. Net10 uses a different APN setting then Straght talk. Not much different, but would highly recommend switching it just to be sure. Just add both into your APN settings and then just switch between them when switching sims.

That's great news! I am literally in the process of finding a good priced note 3 for my brother and have only been looking for AT&T and T-mobile models because I want him to receive LTE on net10. This should make it much easier since I can add verizon phones to the mix. What APN settings are used and did you use a third party program to edit the APN or directly in the network settings? Thanks Moe!

Apn: tfdata
mmsc: http://mms-tf.net
Mms proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
Mms port: 80
You can add a new apn without any app make sure u buy the att sim card and not the tmobile you can a starter kit at radio shack or target .. it comes with 3 sim cards a nano and 2 micro .. one of the micro is a att sim card
I don't understand this. How is it LTE is working on net10 but not on ST? Those apn's you give are for St. What are net10's apn settings? Maybe I can get my damn LTE to work....lol
I bought the straight talk sim kit and tried the ATT sim in my phone.
It would not get any signal at all, so I used the T-mobile SIM (as I have tried an actual T-mobile sim before and it worked)
I get LTE service where I live, but t-mobile's coverage is sketchy (especially coming from Verizon)

True, but your $29 plan is very limited.
1,200 Minutes
3,000 Text/Picture Messages*
500 MB of Data 4G LTE Speeds
We pay $100 for 5 lines w/ Cricket Wirless (owned & operated by AT&T). Each lines has:
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited text/picture messages
2500 of Data 4G LTE (throttled at 8mbps), if you go over 2.5GB, it's throttled down to 128kbps.
We use Verizon S4, S5, Note 3, Note 4, and Note Edge phones. We connect to band 4 LTE on AT&T's network. Been experimenting with enabling additional LTE bands on our Verizon phones via the instructions in these threads, but I haven't been able to verify whether the changes I've made works. Not sure what AT&T LTE bands are available in our area.

I purchased an S 2 from AT&T a while back. I have sense let my plan run out and now bought a prepaid SIM card. the problem is is that now my data does not work because of the 4 G AT&T does not offer 4 G with a prepaid. there is hardly any 4 G coverage where I'm from anyways but I would at least like the 3G to work. is there a way that I can get it to work like flashing ROM or something. I'm not a total noob to this stuff I just hang out at android Forums because of my zte. thank you very much for any of your help.

If your SIM card doesnt allow it, then its not gonna be possible. No S/W can change that.
But if your SIM does allow 3g, then odds are you need proper APN settings. Google it if thats the case.

I would think that it would the 50 dollar monthly unlimited plan. from everything that I've read thus far I've got it narrowed down to something with the phone. I read about the apn settings once before and thought that that was it so I will definitely read more and do what needs to be done.thanks

By any chance are you using Straight Talk? You were vague about which prepaid service.
Straight Talk is supposed to offer an AT&T compatible sim that actually works off the AT&T network.

sorry about being so vague yes it is the AT&T prepaid service. I'm doing the apn settings as we speak so will see if they work.
I had the 50 dollar unlimited plan as well but it really is only for calling and texting. I still had to purchase a data plan and it was 25 dollars for one gig. After I got the data plan 4G started. You have to use the old cingular apn settings to get 4G but you cannot get 4G LTE on a prepaid plan. And just a heads up...when your prepaid needs to be renewed..4G data will shutdown for a few hours.

Hey guys so I got a rezound recently because i wanted a nicer phone. the catch is that I use Straight Talk. Now I've read on here that it's possible to get the Rezound to work on Straight Talk but I don't understand 100% how to do it...Also, would it be better for me to get an AT&T SIM with 4G or to get the Activation code to use the Verizon CDMA? please help.
Right now all you will get from GSM providers is edge speeds. If you use a CDMA carrier that piggy backs off Verizon towers you can get 3G and in some cases 4G

I think you have been slightly misinformed... The Rezound cannot be activated on ST/CDMA as Straight Talk does not activate 4G Verizon phones... An AT&T SIM will work for voice, SMS, and Edge data, 3G is hit and miss, and the Rez doesn't have the proper hardware to use AT&Ts 4G LTE network.

Actually you can use its cdma functions but its a hassle to get it to work....you have to flash the phone using a few programs like cdma workshop and such....however currently i am using it on straight talks tmobile sim card and have one of their at&t sim cards im also gonna test with here soon....im still working on the 4g fix but may also require some cdma workshop stuff as well....no one was misinformed just uninformed on how

I have a Verizon SG4 with AT&T SIM working, voice and data. Data is only H+.
How can I get 4G or LTE?
Thank you!
How did you get ATT working? Just pop in the Sim card and enter the APNs? And LTE won't work, Verizon GS3 has Non Att LTE bands.

Yup, just popped in the SIM, went to AT&T store, copied in the APN from a working sg4, and voice and HSPA+ data works.
I have a SG4 not sg3. Doesnt teh SG4 have the same frequency bands?

Lte bands for Verizon and att are different your lte won't ever work on att with a Verizon phone

I'm currently trying it out. I bought the AT&T compatible sim from their website, and got the APN settings directly from them. Everything seems to work ok.
From what I have read you can get HSPA+ but not LTE when using the AT&T SIM on straight talk with the verizon note 2. Also in 4.3 there is no need to root to update the APN. Otherwise it works fine.
I was thinking about switching but after doing the math my verizon ETF eats all but $40 of the savings over the next 8 months until my contract ends. Will check it out again come September.

Correct. Our phones do have have the AT&T LTE bands. And actually being able to edit APN's was opened up on 4.1.2 without rooting but the thought is still correct.
Can you use other off brand but ATT network SIM card like H20 or Net10 to download LL to update this phone?
I got the update using an NET10 SIM. It went smoothly.

Not any but most. Cricket Wireless for example will not work. I don't have a list unfortunately.
I believe the deciding factor has to do with if the carrier uses the AT&T network or their own. A carrier can still use AT&T towers without actually using the AT&T network. It's confusing ...

Can you explain the steps? Did you have to register your Net10 SIM card first?
I used to use NET10, but the line it's not active any more. However, when I put the SIM into my phone, AT&T network is reported and only emergency calls are allowed. I checked the update through a WiFi and could download and run the update. Thereafter I can use it with T-Mobile and Cricket. Though Cricket uses AT&T network, you cannot get the update through them. The network is reported as cricket instead of AT&T, maybe that's why.
