Try another recovery, TWRP is way more comfortable and costumizable (There's also a beta version in the development section). It will take you some time to find a ClockworkMod 5 update.zip.
done! I did that but when it comes, is loaded with the Android logo and suddenly stops.

[Q] Closing apps with back button? Android ICS (4.0.3)

Edit:
How to mod Android 4.0.3 to close apps via long-press the back button?
Buuuuuuuuump
You could try out this tweak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425612 (credit to super_paws)
It's posted in the Nexus S forum, but the creator states its for stock 4.0.3 OTA, with no mention on which devices it works on. So I suggest making a Nandroid backup before testing this out.
Note that it's not a ROM or a kernel, just a flashable zip that adds a few features, including the force close feature that you're looking for.
Once you flash it, you must go to Settings -> Developer Options, and enable "Stop app via long-press".
Hope that works out for you.
Thanks to you ma friend
Will test this out and give feedback ASAP
edit:
sadly it ends up in a bootloop. i will try to contact the developer and ask him.
Edit: This file is for Nexus S Stock ICS only.
Is anybody able to tell me which file i have to modify for closing apps via long-press the backbutton?
Or where i should start searching. i have absolutly no clue.
Whats wrong with the default Long-Press Home method?

[ROM][UPDATE] PCM7-Streak-JB-Patch/2013/02/18
***PCM7-Streak-v2[JB-Patch]***
Here is some information should know how to make it look like JB :
- Rom include Ice10 theme which make CM7 looks like JB
- Hide all statusbar soft button
- Go to settings/themes and apply Ice10 theme
- Reboot
- After reboot, if statusbar did not show up, reboot again.(make sure hide all statusbar soft button)
- After statusbar show up, we can use statusbar soft button again without any issue.
- For applying others themes, should do the same procedure as above.
- This JB patch is compatible with Ice10 and Xperia Arc themes. Other themes can be apply but will have minor bugs (usually icon mismatch) in phone.apk
- Always remember to hide statusbar softbutton when change theme then reboot.
***Download links PCM7-Streak-v2[JB-Patch]***

NB: still no haptic feedback on softkey button.
Happy flashing and please share and post here for any fix to help other users.
Thanks to @Bhupatib for JB-Patcher and theme.

Guide
Looks sooo cool..But yesterday only i flashed back to latest MIUI Can you confirm that status bar home button, recent apps button really works as in ICS...? Is anymore bug with that tablet tweek status bar..?
RC2 / RC3 because tweakos mention last github sync on May 2012.
Now he has made a new and last build which github sync on November 2012.
I will update (if I have more free time) to his last build.
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk 2
No, the recent apps button icon function is for open notification, if you want recent apps then you have to press and hold the home icon on status bar.

but what is the difference with hpa's cm7
Hey!
I know that lens flare is a very experienced dev and he works with the pasto on acer liquid e and they solve the camera issue on liquid.
Maybe we can get help about ICS for DS 5 from them or maybe they can accept our donations for DS 5?
Would you please talk with them about ICS development for DS 5?
Well, only minor change, just like update from RC0 to RC2 / RC3 (you know how cm... )
As far I know the change are :
- most of app size (browser, theme manager, etc) bigger than hPA RC0
- size of framework (framework.jar, service.jar, etc)
- add few features in settings, statusbar softbutton
- build based from official HTC Bravo source code (sync from cm github on May 2012) should be newer version from hPA.
Overall, the performance is same and very stable for daily use. And from I've read, mute work since RC2 / RC3 for some device.
I will check @tweakos newer build.

I'm working on CyanmobileX rom by Squadzones, I've read this rom heavy customised and have complete features compare to cm7, anybody have tried it on other phone? What the difference? Is it true this rom have nav bar /softbutton (not in statusbar) like ics ? And I see this rom is android 2.3.8.
Just courious, because really hard to make this rom boot up

Yes, he and cosmicdan really skilled dev, I learn from them how to diff and merge smali. But I doubt he will dev ics for ds, as I know he working on jb for htc 3D and some other device.
Most devs I know stop working on ics, they said quite bit useless working on android 4.0.4 when we got 4.2

[Q] [Ray] Remove Rom Control in JJ's Hybrid Rom 3.2

hey guys, i know there is a way to remove "rom control" in jj's hybrid rom 3.2 and 3.3 for xperia ray. there was a patch in official thread about hybrid rom, but jjdoctor removed it this patch changed "rom control" with quickpanel toggles, but i can't find it..
i tried to flash some system ui's, wiped, tried deleting rom control manually and copy and paste quicktoggles and different system ui's in /system/app, but nothing works also fixed permissions in cwm. no matter what way i tried or what systemUI.apk i flashed or copy and pasted, after reboot i have no status bar and phone reboots when pressing the power button
anyone a solution or the right systemUI.apk which work with quicktoggles on jj hybrid 3.2?
i try it since 2 days

As I remember the patch was removed with the idea being that people who don't want rom control should flash v3.1, because the main difference betwen 3.1 and 3.2 was rom control. You may get away with just flashing 3.1 on top of 3.2 and that might clean out all the rom control business, but I am not sure. If you are still left with a messed up system, then you will have to do a factory reset, and maybe format the system partition.
AW: [Q] [Ray] Remove Rom Control in JJ's Hybrid Rom 3.2
thanks for your reply
a few hours before you postet i flashed 3.1 but the main reason why i wanted to be on 3.2 and just remove rom control was this "hold back to kill app" feature which you could enable in rom control. and i thought (correct me if i'm wrong) that this feature, enabled before rom control is removed, still is enabled after removing rom control.
hope you understand

There may be an option for this under system settings-> developer options. The other thing to try is to get your system set up the way you like in 3.2 and then just flash 3.1 on top of it. If you are lucky those setting will remain. Also, if you really love the back button kill apps, you can try the AOKP ROM from ChampionSwimmer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693185&highlight=aokp I used to flash back and forth between JJs Hybrid and AOKP with out doing a factory reset. You will also need to change the kernel for AOKP, the links should be in the OP.
AW: [Q] [Ray] Remove Rom Control in JJ's Hybrid Rom 3.2
thanks man, i will give it a try
AW: [Q] [Ray] Remove Rom Control in JJ's Hybrid Rom 3.2
there is no setting in developer options. and flashing 3.1 on top of 3.2 (after enabling 'long press back to kill app' in 3.2) doesnt have any effect. its not enabled in 3.1 and aokp rom is not an option for me (then i could even take hybrid 3.2 cause of the rom control which is in aokp). so i think i stay at hybrid 3.1 even without 'back to kill'.
but much thanks for your help

If you are willing to give up a little bit of screen real estate, you can try to install something like "button savior" from the play store. I looked around for the original zip that removed rom control but I don't have it. Did you try asking in the jjhybrid rom thread in Ray Development?

unfortunately i have fewer than 10 post, so i cant post in hybrid thread

hey jj nice to see you is it possible to flash hybrid rom 3.2 , enable "hold back button to kill app" in rom control and then remove rom control and hopefully "hold back button to kill app" is still enabled? what do you think?
hope you understand what i mean
btw your rom is soooo cool
AW: [Q] [Ray] Remove Rom Control in JJ's Hybrid Rom 3.2
I did it on my own. i found a rom control remover patch for arc or arc s and i changed the 3 apk's in it (quicktoggles.apk, settings.apk and systemui.apk) with those from hybrid rom v3.1
then i installed hybrid rom v3.2 , enabled "hold back button to kill" in rom control and flashed the patch. i wiped cache and dalvik cache and rebooted. everything works fine and "hold back to kill" is still enabled. the only problem is when i press my power button my phone reboots. even if i press the power button to turn screen off it reboots. anyone an idea how to fix this? jjdoc?
