[Q] edit theme - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys
first excuse my bad english
I have a doubt regarding themas and icons and I will give the example of two different themes and real.
Them 1 - [icon] whats_app.png
Them 2 - [icon] apps_whatsapp.png
1) the two issues have completely different names and yet they change the icon of the app successfully.
2) even in the above case, other icons are not changed but the APK is PNG, for example Avast
I managed to edit the icon of whatsapp with no problems, but I edited the theme and includes avast.png and reinstalled, but not replaced!
Anyone know how it should be done so that the subject recognizes the icon in the package?
thanks to all

[Q] black notification bar

First - Let me start by saying I did a search of black notification bar and didn't really find anything specific to the vibrant. Actually I did find when using the search but still confused. Initially I was just uing the auto fill pop up for information.
Second - Instead of posting in Q&A, I figured it would be better posted here since it's a theme/app. Moderator please move if appropriate. Thanks.
Third - This is strictly for Stock JL5 deodexed.
With that out of the way...
The black/sort of transparent bar is driving me crazy. I'd like for the notification bar to be just straight black. Initially, I was running NeroV3.0 and liked how the notification bar was completely black. But, I just wasn't digging the gingerbread theme. So, I borrowed some of Sombonix's pngs and just copied them to my framework. That was a completely disaster. Man, am I glad I made backups.
Can any of you themer gurus help me out?
what's the name of the png file that is the notification bar? I am on my way home as we speak so I can help as much as I can from there.
I thought this is all I would have to replace but was I sorely mistaken.
statusbar_background.9.png
I am by no means a themer, but I have modified my notification bar, basically all I did was find the notification bar I wanted and used adb push to copy over the framework-res.apk from the desired source to system\framework whilst in cwm.
What all PNGs should I be modifying? There's so many in there that has to do with status bar that I'm getting lost. Also, although I'm running launcherpro, do I need to modify both the framework and twframework?
Yes there's three folder u should be looking at. One is ib the framework-res.apk. the other two are In the twframework.apk. there's 2 seperate folders u need to look into.. I believe one is hdpi, the other might be hdpi-4.. u must change all status bar png. Although I could be wrong because different roms place their png in diffrent folders.. and have a different set up...
Thanks for the tip. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of stare and compare tonight.
Yeay! I did it. Thanks for everyones help with your suggestions. Here is what I ended up doing.
1. Copied my framework and twframework from my phone on to my PC.
2. As a test, took this status bar from here: http://www.devsforandroid.com/forum/index.php?threads/axura-skins-and-themes.39/ (Thanks junkdruggler and Master).
3. Did a search of *status*.
4. Copied *status* to the appropriate places on my framework and twframework.
5. Created a zip.
6. Flashed zip via CWM.
I think one problem is I tried just copying the framework and twframework over and the OS doesn't like me doing that while it's running.

[Q] How do I add custom icons in GO Launcher Theme Factory?

Hello all,
I'm using the latest version of GO Launcher Theme Factory, and I've made a theme with around 30 icons, but I can't seem to add custom icons for other apps that aren't in GO's list. For example, I want to add a Nexflix icon for my theme, but I can't because when I double click on the add custom icon button, GO wants me to open an .apk file, not an image file. If anyone knows how to add a new icon to the list where it's actually an image file, or if anyone has an .apk file that I could download to my comp that has a bunch of custom icons listed (I'll make my own actual icons), that'd be great.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Bishop
Same problem here
Hey Bishop, Have you found the solution to this by any chance? I'm stuck with the same problem. :/
Thanks in advance!

[EDIT - 5 mins later... lol]
Just figured it out. Gonna put the solution here just in case any one else comes upon this thread:
The .apk refers to the .apk of the app whose icon you would like to customize.
So say, if you wanted to create a custom icon for Minecraft Pocket Ed, you'll need to add "Minecraft_Pocket_Edition_v0.1.2.apk" to GO Theme Factory via Icon Exchange> App Icon > Add/Delete App Icon > Custom Icons > "Add".
A dialogue box that says "Parsing" will be on screen for quite a while, then the icon will be added!
Can't believe it was so simple... dddduuurrrr (◔ ◡ ◔)"""
How to add a biggest icons to the theme? Like in Glass theme? Not 72x72. Something like 86x86 or even bigger.
icons don't change on device for some phones
Hello, when i try adding custom apk to add icons i get parsing error every time! Becausr some icons like music and downloads etc don't change with preset icons in the exchange. Thanks in advanced!
Making a new GO Theme Factory thread
Hey guys I have been going through the process of making themes on GO Themes Factory as well and think we all need a new thread where we can all come together and help others/ask questions. It will be under the "Android Themes" section.

Combin CM10.1 themes?

Is it possible two combine to cm10.1 themes? I want to take the battery icons from one theme an ported to another... I've tried opening the apks with 7zip , copying the png from one theme to another, then sign the apk, installed, worked fine but the icons doesn't show, only the default ones. Can this be done? Thanks!
P.S. In the title I meant COMBINE.. Thanks
I've tried something else, I've decompiled the SystemUI.apk but I can't find the 0-100 battery icons, only the 0-15-28-43 etc. etc. ones. What I'm doing wrong? I really want to change the battery icon. Thank you!
Solved it :
The two themes must contain modified battery icons as standard icons. Just overwrite one from another and signed with zipsign. Thanks!
I think it should work with the themes that do not contain modified battery icons, messing around with some xml files , but actually I don't have the time. If I succeed I will post it there.

Battery icons in KitKat

Where are they? I checked the framework-res and SystemUI of an AOSP rom, and they're just not there. Does anyone know?

Click to collapse
Changing them changes nothing. I've also been looking, haven't found them yet
has anybody found where the battery can be changed?I changed and added my mods in almost every apk, such as contacts,sytemui,framework-res,dialer you name it -I have them in there but still shows the default very frustrating!Same thing with the dial pad it also shows default on the initial dialer but the in-call dialer I was able to theme.
EDIT Nevermind -I have found out the battery among some otherthings are now generated in code in 4.4 ,So sorry to all the modders that like to change things easy.It will now require much more to make changes that were once a matter of changing a few png files or maybe and xml here and there.Lerts hope there are themers out there that find a way around this
I found this post what mean that battery icons is draw by code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513466
Right now, the only thing I could find is how to add the % number in the icon.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent
Before.
As the icons are drawn, can't we remove the goto scrpt and use a old drawn icon xml file
try my last mod guys, it can be found in my signature..

ProtonMail v1.4.1(174) - BLACK THEME

Hello everybody!
I've just registered and this will be my first thread and post.
I am very fond of black themes because they are much easier on my eyes and they are better looking than bright ones in my opinion. Since I wasn't able to find any black themed ProtonMail apk, I've tried my best to theme it myself even though I just recently started to learn about the process of theming few weeks ago.
I need your help to finish it. I'm currently stuck I have two problems:
1) I can't figure out how to theme the background of footer buttons ("reply", "reply all" and "forward")
i[DOT]imgur[DOT]com/t1CnPBj[DOT]png
2) and also I have troubles figuring how to theme popup backgrounds in this application. For example this popup:
i[DOT]imgur.com/qdCpNJ2[DOT]png
And here are the screenshots (and the apk) of the rest of the application that are themed properly so you can preview what I have done so far:
dropbox[DOT]com/sh/nbbwh3wh6k2lvrx/AABDvP5ikfe7phgrhKAibgjka?dl=0
I'M SORRY BUT THE FORUM IS PREVENTING ME FROM POSTING THE LINKS TO SCREENSHOTS AND APK BECAUSE I'M NEW TO THE FORUM
SO I HAD TO IMPROVISE WITH ADDING "DOT"
Thank you in advance!
I hope someone will be able to help me finish this theming
Any updates on this?
