Issue with gravitybox using xposed installer on sgh-i337 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

I've recently discovered a great little mod under the DOWNLOAD tab in XPOSED INSTALLER, GRAVITYBOX... I take now credit for the apk. at all. All credit for this apk. goes to [email protected] And [email protected] for the XPOSED framework.
You guys may have used this or are using it right now... In my case I just found it about 2 weeks ago and have had no issue with it on iB4STiD's KANGABEAN ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349077)
or on upndwn4par's GRAVITON ROM
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372742)
Until an update for GRAVITYBOX came out a couple of days ago. Not sure why it does this but if you go in the GRAVITYBOX settings under "power tweaks" and check "screenshot in power menu" every time you try to access your power menu in GRAVITON ROM (only one out of the two Roms mentioned in this post, haven't tested on any other ROMS except KANGABEAN) the phone automatically reboots just by long pressing power button.
It took me several days of trial and error to figure which apk. and which setting specifically it was that was causing the reboot. But it seems to be the "screenshot in power menu" setting in "power tweaks" tab of GRAVITYBOX. But trust me this in no way keeps me from using this great apk. for modding status bar, notif. bar, allow all rotations, sound mods, etc...that it has to offer.
Hats off to the Dev that put GRAVITYBOX together. And to [email protected] For a silky smooth, aesthetically pleasing, stable ROM I use as my daily driver --GRAVITON ...
SGH-I337 rooted, lokied, on GRAVITON v1.5
Ausdim kernel TURBO ZRAM 4x Swaps
When O/C benching on antutu - 28,300 ish.
Quadrant 13,500 ish and on QUICKIE BENCHMARK which test how quick your device processes 2,000,000 processes its averaging 839 ms =.839 seconds. Fastest was .816 and lost that screenshot in data format .lmao my luck.
In other words GRAVITON v1.5 is bad ass.

Gravitybox is designed for vanilla android, google edition roms.

Ahhhh that would be the problem then. Other than that it seems to work great with GRAVITON.

MTD in call volume settings tip
TSM parts tips (how to swim).
1. Any toggle can be long pressed in pulldown to go directly to that toggle's settings menu.
2. Up to 4 apps can be added to the "custom" app icon on the "unlock rings" lockscreen.
menu/tsm parts/lockscreen settings. ensure that you are using the "rings" lockscreen and that "enable custom app" is checked.
tick custom app and choose app. tick custom app again and choose add and repeat process till 4 apps of your liking are chosen.
3. individual notifications can be dismissed in the pull down by swiping it left or right.
4. Long press back button to kill app is located in. menu/settings/applications/development and you will see option.
Special notes.
Some of the toggles in the pulldown will not refresh instantly when activated.
Upon first flash it doesn't hurt to go through all of the tsm options and toggle each one within tsm parts. This will ensure that all options being reported in tsm parts will match what rom is performing.

+1 love this ROM plus glitch. Nice to see support for it coming to xda welcome back to xda tsm. Its been awesome seeing gunnermikes themes coming back and now 2 roms and I'm assuming choppers themes for this are now in the themes section (haven't gotten over there yet today). you guys were definitely missed over here. Maybe now that this is on xda awareness of it will raise along with more themes. Chop can't do it all by himself themers lol. Anyways its just great to see you guys all coming back to xda recently!!
Edit: choppers themes aren't in the themes section here. But I hope they will be his ICS theme is very well done

Its the same. Date oversight.
good day.
Does this ROM have the same problem with the speaker phone that CM7 has? I don't know if this is a CM issue or MTD.
is it possible to get the theme engine from cm7 to work on this?
camera doesn't shoot any video, just stucks at zeros and nothing happens.... any ideas?
(flashed full odin ed05, cwm4, this rom +gapps)
Between this and resurrection tsm definitely owns custom roms on the fascinate no matter if you favor touchwiz or mtd aosp. Good work guys; no longer a rootzwiki exclusive! (Did the good sir jt1134 approve of the xda posting?

Sorry, should've mentioned in the OP, this includes the TW camera but the TW camcorder does not work....yet. If you need a camcorder you can side load the aosp camera in /data/apps (not in SYstem).
I have problems with the stock email app not letting the phone enter deep sleep. my cpu spy shows 200 step is running about 87% of the time on average and deep sleep on average has about 3% min tops. Battery history in tsm parts shows email is 2ND to display at 30%. I will try a 3rd party email app for now but any suggestion on why stock email won't let my phone enter deep sleep?

[MOD]{Test 14} Sense 4+ MultiTasking Breakthrough!Non-Sense App Limit! TRY & KILL IT!

[MOD]{Test 14} Sense 4+ MultiTasking Breakthrough!Non-Sense App Limit! TRY & KILL IT!
====================================================
If this is helpful, please Rate the thread 5 Stars and click Thanks!
====================================================
It's been awhile since I've made a new thread but I thought that I should make one here...
Since this is where I figured out how to get proper multitasking to work on newer Sense ROMS.
And I'd like to refine it some more
==========================================================
It all started weeks ago when I first released my -=Maximum Overdrive=- Multitasking Mod.
It fixes Multitasking on ALL ROMS from Froyo to Jelly Bean (except for those with Sense 4 and up lol)
How? To put it simply, I bumped the MAX_HIDDEN_APPS value from 15 to 70
And now, you can now patch your Sense services.jar yourself!
Do it with the Ultimate Jar Power Tools Patcher script HERE!
It's available as a Windows exe HERE! but does not yet have the Non-Sense App Limit (soon)
A great addition to this mod is the Unlimited Recent Apps Panels mod by steal25.
I tried and failed to do it :cyclops: - but at least I was able to help him break the 16 panel barrier to make it Unlimited
==========================================================
The plan is to have Sense's app limit bumped from 8 visible apps to 50 apps.
Don't worry about if you can't run that many apps at once - the lowmemorykiller will kick in according to your minfrees...
Just crank them up if you need more free ram... lower them for more multitasking
I'd suggest using V6 SuperCharger in conjunction with the mod in order to tweak the minfrees, but more importantly, take advantage of its OOM grouping fixes
The OOM grouping fixes will help ensure that the higher, supercharged ADJs won't result in an overly-aggressive lowmemorykiller.
So if you're enjoying multitasking improvement without using V6 SuperCharger's grouping fix - it's even better with SuperCharger!
Get it HERE
==========================================================
A few ROMS already have this implemented but for those that don't, give it a spin!
Included Mods:
SuperCharged with Die-Hard Launcher
Maximum Multitasking Mods ie. -=Maximum Overdrive=- and Time Killer Killer
Non-Sense App Limit!
Installation:
1. Optional But Highly Recommended: Install my latest V6 SuperCharger script. See above as to why
2. Download your modded services-sense*.jar and rename it as services.jar
3. In terminal type: su, enter. Leave terminal running.
4. Copy the new services.jar into your /system/framework folder.
5. Go back to terminal and type: cd /system/framework, enter, chown 0.0 services.jar, enter, chmod 644 services.jar, enter.
6. Reboot. This will take awhile since it will optimize apps the first time.
==========================================================
About Battery Life: If you think battery is draining quicker, give it a couple of days before assuming the worst.
I'd guess that battery life should get better since the device won't have to restart apps as much as before.
==========================================================
So this is the progression for those that don't know what's up so far...
Test 1 - Found the additional Sense app limit... but FAILS to boot... lol
Test 1B - Boots! But doesn't work as good as hoped.
Test 2 - Ok now we're getting somewhere... messing with HTC_RECENT_APP_FUSION seems to be the key...
Test 3 - Fine tune a bit...
Test 4 - More refinements...
Test 5 - Totally disable MAX_VISIBLE_TASKS? Tweaked SuperCharger (more complete)
Test 6 - Tweaked "Trimming Apps" routine to take into account the larger max hidden apps value.
Test 7 - HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL - Changed HIDDEN_APP_MIN_ADJ (priority) to be the same as SERVICE_ADJ - Why? Well... it may prevent recently ran apps like facebook or your browser from reloading since MaxOD is succesfully allowing 70 hidden apps to stay in memory.
Test 8 - Did away with last change - HIDDEN_APP_MIN_ADJ is back to stock ADJ 9
.......... - "Hidden Protector" added - less important Empty Apps can kick out more important hidden apps from memory. By default, Android will keep at least 2 hidden apps in memory before this happens. I bumped it up to 15
.......... - I also prevent Server apps (apps you just left with ADJ 6 priority) from becoming a "worstType" ie. likely to be killed. This doesn't happen in pre-ICS roms so hey... it's worth a shot, eh?
Test 9 - HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL - Going with the idea of making Service apps the same as Hidden Apps (since I can greatly control hidden apps) I raised the service app ADJ to be the same as hidden.
.......... - Re-enable HTC_RECENT_APP_FUSION since I'm now able to raise the visible app and recent app limits without touching it. This also means I don't have to mess with TaskRecord.smali or ActivityStack.smali.
Test 10 - Updating Ultimatic Tools code so here's a test run. Service Apps back to the usual ADJ as a test to see if previous test (with service adj the same as hidden apps) is better or not
Test 11 - Sense 4+! Not too much different appart from a big ass song and dance in ProcessList.smali to determine Max Hidden Apps based on ram.
By default I see that if you have 512 mb of ram, it's 10 apps, if you have 2gb of ram it's only 20 apps. Otherwise, it's the usual 15.
But it's 70 apps across the board in these jars lol
Test 12 - Sense 4+ - BIG TEST! After some deep analysis, I've made some important changes that should make memory management smoother. Lots of fixed up if/else conditions (which weren't making sense after changing ADJs) but also took out a few edits that actually hampered memory management to an extent.
Test 13 - Further refinements over Test 12. This is REALLY good... Also removed signature check so it better NOT bootloop (Thanks il Duce for the heads up)
Test 14 - Forced the low minfrees in ProcessList.smali so that the lowmemorykiller will treat ram like it's on a low memory device which means much less app killing overall.
Test 15 - Added: Hard-Coded minfrees - to ProcessList.smali. Without any minfree tweaks, the lowmemorykiller minfrees are 10, 14, 100, 110, 120, 130
............. - Added: Hard-Coded OOM Grouping Fix (adj grouping) - to ProcessList.smali. Without any adj grouping tweaks, the values are SuperChargers - 0, 3, 6, 10, 12, 15 (default is 0, 1, 2, 4, 7, 15)
............. - Added: Idle Offset Control Valve (see code below) - to ProcessList.smali and ActivityManagerService.smali
Code:
// We put empty content processes after any hidden processes that have
// been idle for less than [COLOR=Red]15 seconds[/COLOR].
static final long CONTENT_APP_IDLE_OFFSET = 15*1000;
// We put empty content processes after any hidden processes that have
// been idle for less than [COLOR=Red]120 seconds[/COLOR].
static final long EMPTY_APP_IDLE_OFFSET = 120*1000;
I made:
CONTENT_APP_IDLE_OFFSET = 65 seconds (instead of 15 seconds)
EMPTY_APP_IDLE_OFFSET = 305 seconds (instead of 120 seconds)
So now, if there were apps that normally get killed which you BulletProof (with V6 SuperCharger), you can probably now lessen the BulletProof frequency (it's an option now lol).
Say make it 60 seconds instead of 30 seconds.
I know some apps normally need it as low as 14 seconds to never get killed - which is why I figure it's related to content app idle offset default of 15 seconds.
============================================================
What's hacked:
ActivityManagerService.smali
SuperCharging
Time Killer Killer - MAX_SERVICE_INACTIVITY boosted from 30 minutes to 24hrs
Non-Sense App Limit
..... - MAX_RECENT_TASKS boosted from 20 to 50
..... - MAX_VISIBLE_TASKS boosted from 8 to 50
..... - Rendered HTC_RECENT_APP_FUSION a non-factor - it prevented the application of boosted values
ProcessList.smali
SuperCharging
Maximum Overdrive - MAX_HIDDEN_APPS boosted from 15 to 70
==========================================================
How do I know if it worked?
Mod 1. Run the latest V6 SuperCharger script and it will tell you if your launcher is SuperCharged!
Mods 2 and 3. Install System Tuner and put the widget on the desktop.
Make note of how many apps the widget shows running after running a whole bunch of apps.
It would look like ##/##
So feel free to post before and after screen shots!
==========================================================
Another Test for Maximum Overdrive - Install aLogcat, before and after the mod, run as many apps as you can, run aLogcat and search for longer.
Example Before and After....
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Notice how there is very little killing activity after the mod?
But more importantly, notice that before the mod, app #16 gets killed. After the mod, app #71 gets killed.
Because max hidden apps went from 15 to 70
Note that you will likely see a blank screen after the mod, that means you never hit the app limit so nothing got killed

What does SuperCharger suggest?
V6 Suggest slot 3 to be at 180MB of free RAM.

I forgot bog3nator posted his boom stick output in the other thread
Code:
You have 770 MB of RAM on your device...
...1000 HP settings are recommended!
-=SuperMinFree Calculator=- says:
Cust-OOMize with 8, 16, 154, 169, 184, 200 MB!
Not sure why it would say 180mb for you when it says 154 for bog?
Anyway, it's safe to play with settings to find ones that work for your use.
If setting 8 is too high, maybe try 7.
Sorry, those look like the settings I had gotten. Must be wrong, disregard. My apologies.

One question does this work on odex and stock rooted roms
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Yes if you know the edits to make
Once I release the the updated script, you'd be able to follow Post 2 of the SuperCharger thread on how to patch services.odex and you'd run the script in place of Step 5.
But the Windows exe would be updated as well and would work with odex roms.
But for now, if you're able to follow post 2, you can post the 4 smali files and I can do the changes.
The trick with the odex is the BOOTCLASSPATH and copying the signature bits.
Otherwise, I'd be able to do it for you.
What does the step 3 terminal entries change? Is that for the rw settings for the srrvices.jar folder?
If so, is it ok to change the rw setting via file manager?

You need to do this or else it will "optimize apps" on every boot.

If it's deodexed (you don't have services.odex) it should work.
Can you post what you have: /system/framework/services.jar and/or odex files?
At the very least I'd like to confirm that the smali files are similar enough.
Why is this in the original development section? These 2 sections are confusing. Why can't we just have one section?
Back on topic I'm testing on flexes rom and subscribed.

Xposed LED Control

Anyone have any experience with this? I would like to set my notifications to being the same color, I'm not much for differentiating, I'm looking into this, I read LF is pretty good, however I read it can destroy a battery life, and I'd like to stick with modules for now, I've probably grown prejudiced since I went rooted along with xposed lol. I have been using this Module on my i9505 since the first version.
It works REALLY nice, and i was considering buying the full version.
Unfortunatelly, developer @MohammadAG seems to have stoped developing it, or maybe he is busy.
The app has some bugs. (it still does not work with Gmail, and also causes weird bugs if you try to use it on Phone app, to notify missed calls)
It would be awesome if the development coninued. The dev could add an option for multiple notifications, since right now, it only flashes the collor of the last received notification.
Anyways, i use it for Whatsapp (green) , Snapchat (yellow) and Facebook (Blue). Give it a try.
I haven't stopped developing it, it's changing into Xposed Notification Control next, you'll be able to set custom vibration patterns and different priorities.
However, I still haven't made a proper announcement thread.
I just have 3 modules that I've been working on for a while, so it may take time.

Wow! That is GREAT news! Cant wait for it! Once again, congratulations for your awesome work! Keep it up, and count on me if you need any files, or even a tester. (I remember your access to Samsung Device was hard, so i can help test on my i9505 if you need).
Good to hear from you.
It doesn't seem to work on my Nexus 5, but it could be a conflict with GravityBox.

As far as i Know, Nexus 5 is the developers own phone. I am pretty sure it WORKS on it. It might be some conflict or mis-config....

My phone have both Gmail and SMS blinking green, so I change sms led to blue... and when I get SMS, after the first blink (which is as blue as I want), it get back to green right away. Any idea? See nothing interesting in xposed log since it worked, but got override by phone led blinking setting.
Using stock-based 4.0.4 Sony rom.
MohammadAG, where would be a good place to keep my eye on for updates for Xposed Notification Control? This thread? or...

[size=+1]Introducing: Galaxy Note fre3 post-install with Xposed Framework[/size]
In Galaxy Note fre3 2.0, I have written a post-install script that will install, on first boot, the Xposed Framework, wanam, tinted status bar, and butteredtoast. This does not mean you have to manually install Xposed, and enable modules. It is all automated and all happens on first boot. No need to 'reflash' the ROM. This will happen any time you do a factory reset on this ROM. It also sets a few default settings, enables tethering, and a bunch of things behind the scenes. I consider this a version 0.1 product. It has great potential and will able me to apply entire settings on your device--everything from ringtones to brightness, volume, widget layouts, lockscreen wallpaper, etc. You name it, I can probably make the post-install script do it. This will enable the Galaxy Note fre3 ROM to be truly customized in every way exactly how I intend it to be.
You will notice upon first boot, when the white screen comes on telling you that your phone is setting up for the first time, that the phone will quickly 'hot boot' after about 30 seconds. This is completely normal and is part of the post-install process. Don't freak out and think you're in a boot loop. Everything will be fine. As the ROM progresses, I will modify that screen with a message like "Your phone will reboot during the setup. Please wait..."
See it in action:

[Q] How to change lock screen back to stock after Xposed mods?

Alright, I'm an idiot. I did what you're not supposed to do and made changes without really paying attention to what was happening. I take full blame, obviously! I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. It's not a huge deal, more like "what the heck did I do and how do I undo it?"
I've got the HTC One M8 and I've been playing around with some Xposed mods. Now, my lock screen is missing the bottom shortcuts/icons (which I actually like), it's missing the lock screen notifications I have turned on in Security, and I'm not able to add widgets. I've tried turning off all the Xposed mods and rebooting to no avail. Where did I mess up and how do I correct it?
The mods I currently have active: Downloads2SD, SwiftKey Goodness on More Fields, Google Play Music Listen, HTC Gesture Modifier, HTC One Tweaker, Sense 6 Lockscreen (trust me, this was the first one I checked all the settings for as well as disabling), Sense 6 Toolbox, and Xposed StatusBar.
Mods I've had but uninstalled: GravityBox [KK], XBlast Tools, XVolume (I undid all the settings before uninstalling each of these, too).
Go to xposed app >framework> uninstall, then reboot
